Product Overview

Built-in rechargeability and improved performance are what make the Fenix E35R flashlight unique from its predecessor, the Fenix E35 V3.0. This small flashlight, which is only 4.72 inches long, is able to blast a maximum 3100 lumens 853 feet (260m)—amazing for a flashlight this size! The single side switch activates on/off and all lighting modes—no need for a tail switch. A magnet now sits where a tail switch normally would, allowing you to attach the flashlight to most metal surfaces for hands-free use. It’s USB-C rechargeable with a battery level indicator and is waterproof and dustproof. When you need a rechargeable super bright EDC flashlight, the Fenix E35R is the perfect choice.

* 21700 Li-ion batteries are powerful cells designed for commercial applications and must be treated with caution and handled with care. Only use quality batteries with circuit protection will reduce the potential for combustion or explosion; but cell damage or short circuiting are potential risks the user assumes.

Battery Replacement

Unscrew the light head and insert the battery with the anode side (+) towards the light head, then screw the light head back on.

Charging

  1. First switch off the light and plug the USB A socket of the charging cable into an electrical outlet, then connect the USB Type-C socket of the charging cable to the light.
  2. The indicator will display red while charging, and will turn green when fully charged.
  3. Once charging is completed, be sure to close the anti-dust cover to maintain the dustproof and waterproof ability.
  4. Recommended to use 5V/2A and above adapter.

Note:

  1. The normal charging time of the included Fenix ARB-L18-5000 V2.0 rechargeable battery is approximately 3 hours from depletion to full charging.
  2. Recharge a stored light every four months to maintain the optimum performance of the battery.
  3. Do not take out the battery during charging, and the light is available while charging (excluding Turbo, High and Strobe).

Battery Level Indication

With the light switched off, single click the side switch to check the battery status, the indicator with last for 3 seconds. Each time the light is turned on, the indicator in the neck of the flashlight will indicate the battery level and will last for 3 seconds.

  • Green light on: saturated 100% - 85%
  • Green light flashes: sufficient 85% - 50%
  • Red light on: poor 50% - 25%
  • Red light flashes: critical 25% - 1%

Note: This only works with Fenix ARB-L21 series rechargeable battery.

Intelligent Overheat Protection

The light will accumulate a lot of heat when used on High or Turbo modes for extended periods. When the light reaches a temperature of 60°C or above, the light will automatically step down a few lumens to reduce the temperature. When the temperature drops below 60°C, it will then allow the user the reselection of High or Turbo modes.

Low-voltage Warning

When the voltage level drops below the preset level, the flashlight is programmed to downshift to a lower brightness level until Eco mode is reached. When this happens in Eco mode, the battery level indicator constantly blinks red to remind you to timely recharge or replace the battery.

Note: This only works with Fenix ARB-L21 series rechargeable battery.

Usage and Maintenance

  • Disassembling the sealed head can cause damage to the light and will void the warranty.
  • Fenix recommends using only a high-quality protected battery.
  • If the light will not be used for an extended period, remove the battery for proper storage.
  • Lock the light or remove the battery to prevent accidental activation during storage or transportation.
  • Long-term use can result in O-ring wear. To maintain a proper water seal, replace the ring with an approved spare.
  • Periodic cleaning of the battery contacts improves the light's performance as dirty contacts may cause the light to flicker, shine intermittently or even fail to illuminate for the following reasons:
    A: Poor battery level.
Solution: Recharge or replace the battery
B: The contact or contact point of the battery or flashlight is dirty.
Solution: Clean the contact points with a cotton swab soaked in rubbing alcohol.

If the above methods don't work, please contact your authorized distributor.

Warning

  • Do place this light out of the reach of children!
  • Do NOT shine the light directly into the eyes of anyone!
  • Do NOT shine flammable objects at close range, to avoid burning objects or causing danger due to high temperature!
  • Do NOT use the light in inappropriate ways such as biting in the mouth, to avoid personal injury or life threats when the light or internal battery fails!

  • Turn off and lock the light or remove the battery from the light to prevent accidental activation when the light is placed in a closed and flammable environment such as pockets and backpacks!
  • The LED of this flashlight is not replaceable; so the whole light should be replaced when the LED reaches the end of its life.

Great flashlight for the price

Great product, but came late.

Fenix flashlights are always good products, but I am very disappointed in the shipping. Was supposed to arrive in 3-7 business days, but took about 12 days to arrive. I wasn't given anything for the inconvenience, so I'm not sure if I'll order from here again.

Hi David - looks like you had chosen the free shipping option, which is generally 4-5 business days. The free shipping is generally via USPS. Your order was placed on Sunday, June 9 and shipped out the next business day, Monday June 10. I just checked the tracking, and, for reasons completely unknown to us, it looks like USPS made an error in sorting the package and they sent it to their distribution center in Guam. And they sent it on to Honolulu and it was then sent back to the mainland. Unfortunately, the USPS error on that resulted in 9 days of travel to fix their error, and the shipment was delivered to you 10 days after it was shipped. We did process and ship the order the next business day after you placed it.

Great EDC light

We've owned several Fenix E28 lights and like them a lot, so decided to order three of the E35R's. They're nearly the same size and are brighter overall with a larger hot spot. They've added a magnet to the base which was long overdue. The batteries in the E28's last seemingly forever, and the E35R should be even better. My only complaint is the rubber charging port cover. After a year or so it stops staying closed, which I think could be engineered better. It then flaps around and is generally annoying, but that's a minor shortcoming for this great light.

Good light that I’d buy again if I lost it

Small size for a 21700 torch with a lot of lighting power. I wanted something with ~150 lumens as well as 350 and 1000 lumens and a turbo mode with a softer spot. This light fits the bill and is carryable on the hip with an $10 Amazon plastic slip-holster. Mine came with a diffuser, which is an inexpensive part in the base-case, and it works really well. I’ve used it quite a bit since I got it a couple weeks ago and it is still a long way from having to be charged. I really like that there are no special chargers or purpose-built batteries necessary. We’re in FL and it is now part of our emergency hurricane kit. I recommend it very much.

Could be a lot better

1. The double click speed is too fast on the key lock. Why y'all make it such a pain to lock and unlock it? Just a little slower double click would fix this issue.

2 charging is really slow. This is mostly due to a long charging tail where almost no charging is happening but the charge light is still red. Charging from depleted takes 3 hours but charging from when it first starts to blink green (85%) takes an hour and a half because y'all are trickle charging for like an hour for no reason! It's annoying AF! At a minimum y'all need to fix the trickle charging at the end that wastes so much time. Better would be to upgrade to quick charging technology.

3 When unplugged the light gives you some idea what's going on with different colors and blinking or solid lights but none of that love is shown while charging. All we get is a solid red light that turns green at some point. I know you can do better because you're already doing better when you're not charging.

3. The design of your lanyard loops make it impossible to chamfer the insides of the holes like you do on the outside. The sharp inside corners abrade my lanyard and cause it to wear out prematurely.

4. The magnet in the tail cap is insufficient to stop the light from sliding down vertical surfaces. I can make it work on something meaty like angle iron but forget about thin sheet stock. Y'all need better magnets or maybe some traction material.

5. The light is strongly tinted greenish blue. It's not the worst but it's not ideal. With the greenish blue hue I'm looking at the light instead of using the light to look at things. It's a needless distraction.
