Battery Specifications

Nominal Voltage

Fenix ARB-L16 Series

Non-rechargeable Battery (Lithium)

Usable(no charging)

 Rechargeable Battery (Li-ion)

* 16340 Li-ion batteries are powerful cells designed for commercial applications and must be treated with caution and handled with care. Only use quality batteries with circuit protection will reduce the potential for combustion or explosion; but cell damage or short circuiting are potential risks the user assumes.

Battery Replacement

Unscrew the light tail and insert the battery with the anode side (+) towards the light head, then screw the light tail back on.

Charging the PD25R

  1. Switch off the light and loosen the light head to reveal the USB Type-C charging port and plug the USB A socket of the charging cable into an electrical outlet, then connect the USB Type-C socket of the charging cable to the light.
  2. The indicator will display red while charging and will turn green when fully charged.
  3. Once charging is completed, be sure to tighten the light head to maintain the dustproof and waterproof ability.

  1. The normal charging time of the included Fenix ARB-L16-700P is approximately 2 hours from depletion to full charging.
  2. Recharge a stored light every four months to maintain the optimum performance of the battery.
  3. The Eco output is available while charging (press and hold the functional switch for 0.5 seconds), but the charging time will be prolonged.

Battery Level Indication

Each time the light is turned on, the indicator will indicate the battery level and will last for 3 seconds.

  • Green light on: saturated 100% - 85%
  • Green light flashes: sufficient 85% - 50%
  • Red light on: poor 50% - 25%
  • Red light flashes: critical 25% - 1%

Note: This only works with Fenix ARB-L16-700P 16340 rechargeable Li-ion battery.

Intelligent Overheat Protection

The light will accumulate a lot of heat when used at relatively high modes for extended periods. When the light reaches a temperature of 60°C or above, the light will automatically step down a few lumens to reduce the temperature. When the temperature drops below 60°C, it will then allow the user to reselect the modes.

Low-voltage Warning

When the voltage level drops below the preset level, the flashlight is programmed to downshift to a lower brightness level until Low output is reached. When this happens in Eco output mode, the battery level indicator blinks red to remind you to timely recharge or replace the battery.

Note: This only works with Fenix ARB-L16-700P 16340 rechargeable Li-ion battery.

Usage and Maintenance

  • Disassembling the sealed head can cause damage to the light and will void the warranty.
  • Fenix recommends using only a high-quality protected battery.
  • If the light will not be used for an extended period, remove the battery for proper storage.
  • Unscrew the tail cap or remove the battery to prevent accidental activation during storage or transportation.
  • Long-term use can result in O-ring wear. To maintain a proper water seal, replace the ring with an approved spare.
  • Periodic cleaning of the battery contacts improves the light's performance as dirty contacts may cause the light to flicker, shine intermittently or even fail to illuminate for the following reasons:
    A: Poor battery level.
Solution: Recharge or replace the battery.
B: The contact or contact point of the battery or flashlight is dirty.
Solution: Clean the contact points with a cotton swab soaked in rubbing alcohol.

If the above methods don't work, please contact your authorized distributor.

Great for EDC

I settled on this flashlight after I spent a good amount of time reading and comparing so many options. But it’s safe to say this flashlight is definitely worth every penny. I love how it fits everything I was looking for. Fits in the palm of your hand, multiple light settings, rechargeable battery and finally the price. The only thing I would say is it does get kinda hot on the highest setting. But I rarely ever use that setting. Overall highly recommend.

Great light.

Im really enjoying the light that is now my EDC. I used to carry an LD12 that they discontinued in favor of the LD12R which does not have the same features. The LD12 died because a certain popular alkaline battery leaked inside of it before I noticed. First of all, I MUCH prefer AA batteries at least as a backup. I dont mind the special AA sized 3.6 volt batteries as the main which allow for much higher max output. Streamlight has a dual AA/Cr123 light, but uses the tail switch for programming which is a bad idea for a momentary on light. Secondly, I do very much like the USB-C port charging, but I am nervous for some of your customers who might stick a CR123 battery and forget and use the charging port. Third, I wish there was a 75 lumen setting rather than a 40 and a 150. 40 is too dim for daylight and 150 ruins my nightvision especially coming out of a dead sleep and looking for my glasses, way too bright. 75 ish that I had on my LD12 was perfect all around most of the time. I really dont care about strobe since I can easily simulate it using the momentary on tail switch. Fourth, this thing is BRIGHT for its size. More than I usually need, but nice to have. I feel sorry for people that spend a hundred dollars on a big expensive light that isnt necessarily brighter. Fenix should make a quad fueled AA/CR123/3.6vAA/16340 with charging port for 16340 only and programmable side button and 75 lumen setting. I would pay an easy $80 for such a light. I also suggest they give a warning about leaking Alkalines with any of their remaining AA/AAA flashlights. I ruined one of those keychain lights that way too. I have since converted entirely to Lithium and rechargeable lithium to avoid future mistakes in all devices.

Hi Steven - we do have the LD22 V2 that can use either 2 AA batteries, or a rechargeable battery pack, but it might be a little bigger than what you are looking for. Unfortunately, leaving some brands of alkaline batteries inside any product can result in leaking of those batteries. Some brands are more prone to this than others for sure.

Great light

This is a great every day carry flashlight. Small and easily fits in my pocket. This is my first quality flashlight and the quality shows!

My daily carry. A bit bulky but it does so much so well. Use only the illumination I need and recharge each night. Easy reliable.

Fenix review

I like my new Rechargeable flashlight which replaces my former ‘UN’rechargeable flashlight. It also has more lumens. I will be using this flashlight quite regularly. Thanks

Excellent flashlight! Super bright!

I was surprised at how bright the highest setting is. Got this for EDC and have several other Fenix lights as well as Olight and Lumintop. Fenix builds a quality light.
