  • Long-term use can result in O-ring wear. To maintain a proper water seal, replace the ring with an approved spare.
  • Periodic cleaning of the battery contacts improves the lamp's performance as dirty contacts may cause the lamp to flicker, shine intermittently or even fail to illuminate for the following reasons: A: The battery needs replacing. One of the best headlamps!

Truly one of the best lights I have ever owned. Light and durable enough to handle the front and backcountry. I carry two as cave light backups to my main Fenix and one of these always comes on camping trips can't recommend this enough!!

Best Headlamp Ever!

I use this headlamp for all sorts of tasks. Reading light at night. Trail hiking. Working on the car. Really anywhere more light is needed. I love turbo mode but use it sparingly because the small 16340 battery does wear down quickly at 700 lumens. But - one needs the right tool for the job - when I need a lot of light for a long time I pull out a high-powered shop light that weighs as much as a brick. I wouldn't want to wear a brick on my head. This lamp is so light and comfortable on my head I forget I'm wearing it.

Why are all the newer lights having NO moon modes or 3-5 eco modes??? Their older lights had much better eco modes! Now all the lights start at 30 lumens..... Come On Fenix!!

Very disappointed.

This light is good for quick 5-10 minute jobs. For anything longer buy 18650 or higher capacity battery light. This light/brand is insanely overpriced and overrated. It spends more time on the charger than on my head. For a 400 lumen light it's overrated and underpowered. This is with the included rechargeable 700mA battery. I have a Convoy light in the same lumen range 400-420 and it's significantly brighter. It runs on 18650 but it's rated the same brightness. I don't recommend this headlight. If you want small and light weight there are better cheaper brighter longer lasting options.

This light should be getting you 42 hours of run time on low, 8 hrs on medium, 3 hrs on high, and 1 hr on turbo. If it is not doing that, please contact our warranty department.

Great small light

I have the HM61R and now the HM50R as well for a lighter option. This feels much better built than many headlamps you'd see in a typical outdoors store, very lightweight, and has a great range of beam power. The body of the light does get very hot at the turbo mode, so I would not plan to use turbo for extended periods. All in all, very happy with the light and looking forward to many years of use out of it.
