Operating Instructions

On/off
Tap the tactical tail switch to turn on the light momentarily, release it and the light will go out. 
Fully press the tactical tail switch to turn on the light constantly, and fully press it again to turn off the light.

Instant Turbo
With the light turned on, press and hold the side switch for 0.5 seconds to activate Instant Turbo. Single click the side switch to return to the previous brightness level in General mode.

Output Selection
General mode: With the light turned on, single click the side switch to cycle through Eco→Low→Med→High→Ultra High.

Lock/Unlock
Lock: 
With the light on or off, toggle the lock switch to the "lock" icon to lock the light from activating. 
Unlock: 
With the light locked, set the lock switch to the "unlock" icon to unlock the light.
You may also use the lock switch as an on/off switch. With the light on, toggle the lock switch to the "lock" icon to turn off the light. Toggle the switch the "unlock" icon to activate. 
Note: In locked status, clicking or pressing the tactical tail switch will not turn on the light. Please unlock it first.

Intelligent Memory Circuit  
The flashlight automatically memorizes the last selected output excluding Instant Turbo. When turned on again, the previously used output will be recalled.

Battery Specifications

*21700 Li-ion batteries are powerful cells designed for commercial applications and must be treated with caution and handled with care. Using low-quality batteries or mishandling batteries (such as short-circuiting or overheating) could lead to combustion and jeopardize the safety of users and property. Any adverse effects resulting from the use of low-quality batteries are not covered by any Fenix warranty or liability. Using quality batteries with circuit protection will reduce the potential for combustion or explosion.

Battery Replacement
Unscrew the light body and insert the battery with the anode side (+) towards the light head, then screw the light body back on.

Charging

1. Loosen the light neck to remove the battery, then connect the USB Type-C end of the charging cable to the battery.
2. The three indicators on the battery will display blue while charging, and the number of constant-on indicator(s) indicates the current battery level. The three indicators will be constant-on after charging is completed.
   Note: Recharge the battery of a stored light every four months to maintain the optimum performance of the battery.

Battery Level Indication 
Each time the flashlight is turned on, the indicator will show the current battery level and will last for 3 seconds.  

• Green light on: saturated 100% - 85%
• Green light flashes: sufficient 85% - 50%
• Red light on: poor 50% - 25%
• Red light flashes: critical 25% - 1%
  *This only works with a Fenix ARB-L21 Series battery.

Intelligent Overheat Protection    
The flashlight will accumulate a lot of heat when used at high output levels for extended periods. When the flashlight reaches a temperature of 60°C/140°F or above, it will automatically step down a few lumens to reduce the temperature. When the temperature drops below 60°C/140°F, the flashlight will gradually recall the preset output level.

Low-voltage Warning
When the voltage level drops below the preset level, the flashlight is programmed to downshift to a lower brightness level until Eco output is reached. When this happens in Eco output, the battery level indicator blinks red to remind users to replace or recharge the battery in a timely manner.
*This only works with a Fenix ARB-L21 Series battery.

Usage and Maintenance

• Disassembling the sealed head can cause damage to the flashlight and will void the warranty.
• Fenix recommends using an excellent quality battery.
• If the flashlight will not be used for an extended period, remove the battery, or the flashlight could be damaged by electrolyte leakage.
• Turn off and lock the flashlight or remove the battery to prevent accidental activation during storage or transportation.
• Long-term use can result in O-ring wear. To maintain a proper water seal, replace the ring with an approved spare.
• Periodic cleaning of the flashlight and battery contacts improves the flashlight's performance as dirty contacts may cause the lamp to flicker, shine intermittently or even fail to illuminate for the following reasons:
  A: Poor battery level.
  Solution: Recharge or replace the battery.
  B: The contact or contact point of the battery or flashlight is dirty.  
  Solution: Clean the contact points with a cotton swab soaked in rubbing alcohol.

Warning

• Do NOT place this flashlight in the reach of children!
• Do NOT shine this flashlight directly into anyone’s eyes!
• Do NOT place the light head near flammable objects, high temperatures can cause objects to overheat and become flammable/ignite!
• Do NOT use this flashlight in inappropriate ways such as holding the unit in your mouth, doing so could cause serious personal injury or death if the flashlight or internal battery fails!
• This flashlight will accumulate a significant amount of heat while operating, resulting in a high temperature of the light shell. Pay close attention to avoid burns!
• Turn off and lock the flashlight or remove the battery to prevent accidental activation when the flashlight is placed in a closed and flammable environment such as pockets and backpacks!
• The LEDs of this flashlight are not replaceable; so the whole flashlight will need to be replaced when any one of the LEDs reaches the end of its lifespan.

How do I charge the LD31 RENEGADE?
A: The LD31 RENEGADE does not have a built-in charging port. To charge, remove the included ARB-L21-6000B battery and charge it using the battery's built-in USB Type-C charging port with the included USB Type-C charging cable.

What is Instant Turbo on the LD31 RENEGADE?
A: Instant Turbo allows you to immediately access the maximum 3200 lumen output by pressing and holding the side switch. This bypasses all other brightness levels so you have instant maximum brightness when you need it most.

Is there a way to prevent accidental activation of the LD31 RENEGADE?
A: Yes. Use the manual lockout switch (slide toggle) to prevent accidental activation, or remove the battery.

How does the manual lockout switch work on the LD31 RENEGADE?
A: Just slide the toggle to lock (toward the lock symbol) or unlock the flashlight (slide to the unlock symbol) without tap sequences or complicated procedures. 

What battery can be used in the LD31 RENEGADE?
A: The LD31 RENEGADE is powered by one included Fenix ARB-L21-6000B rechargeable 21700 Li-ion battery. 18650 batteries with 3400mAh or more capacity can be used when using an ALF-18 battery holder (not included). 

What colors is the LD31 RENEGADE available in?
A: The LD31 RENEGADE is part of Fenix's RENEGADE line and is currently available in three colors: black, OD green, and orange.

What is the IP rating of the LD31 RENEGADE?
A: IP68: dustproof and waterproof underwater to 2 meters.

Can the LD31 RENEGADE tail stand?
A: Yes. The LD31 RENEGADE features a U-shaped tail design that allows it to tail stand confidently on flat surfaces for hands-free lighting.

Can the included battery be used as a power bank?
A: Yes, just remove the included ARB-L21-6000B battery and use its built-in USB port to charge other devices.

A: 

1. 15-day replacement: Fenix will replace identical or equal products with documented manufacturing defects within 15 days of purchase.
2. 2-year free repair: Fenix will repair a light free of charge within 2 years of purchase if problems develop with normal use.
3. Lifetime limited warranty: If repair is required after 2 years from the date of purchase, Fenix will charge for parts. The total repair fee is dictated by the cost of the replaced materials.
