Product Overview

Built-in rechargeability and improved performance are what make the Fenix E35R flashlight unique from its predecessor, the Fenix E35 V3.0. This small flashlight, which is only 4.72 inches long, is able to blast a maximum 3100 lumens 853 feet (260m)—amazing for a flashlight this size! The single side switch activates on/off and all lighting modes—no need for a tail switch. A magnet now sits where a tail switch normally would, allowing you to attach the flashlight to most metal surfaces for hands-free use. It’s USB-C rechargeable with a battery level indicator and is waterproof and dustproof. When you need a rechargeable super bright EDC flashlight, the Fenix E35R is the perfect choice.

Battery Replacement

Unscrew the light head and insert the battery with the anode side (+) towards the light head, then screw the light head back on.

Charging

  1. First switch off the light and plug the USB A socket of the charging cable into an electrical outlet, then connect the USB Type-C socket of the charging cable to the light.
  2. The indicator will display red while charging, and will turn green when fully charged.
  3. Once charging is completed, be sure to close the anti-dust cover to maintain the dustproof and waterproof ability.
  4. Recommended to use 5V/2A and above adapter.

Note:

  1. The normal charging time of the included Fenix ARB-L18-5000 V2.0 rechargeable battery is approximately 3 hours from depletion to full charging.
  2. Recharge a stored light every four months to maintain the optimum performance of the battery.
  3. Do not take out the battery during charging, and the light is available while charging (excluding Turbo, High and Strobe).

Battery Level Indication

With the light switched off, single click the side switch to check the battery status, the indicator with last for 3 seconds. Each time the light is turned on, the indicator in the neck of the flashlight will indicate the battery level and will last for 3 seconds.

  • Red light flashes: critical 25% - 1%

Note: This only works with Fenix ARB-L21 series rechargeable battery.

Intelligent Overheat Protection

The light will accumulate a lot of heat when used on High or Turbo modes for extended periods. When the light reaches a temperature of 60°C or above, the light will automatically step down a few lumens to reduce the temperature. When the temperature drops below 60°C, it will then allow the user the reselection of High or Turbo modes.

Low-voltage Warning

When the voltage level drops below the preset level, the flashlight is programmed to downshift to a lower brightness level until Eco mode is reached. When this happens in Eco mode, the battery level indicator constantly blinks red to remind you to timely recharge or replace the battery.

Note: This only works with Fenix ARB-L21 series rechargeable battery.

Usage and Maintenance

  • Disassembling the sealed head can cause damage to the light and will void the warranty.
  • Fenix recommends using only a high-quality protected battery.
  • If the light will not be used for an extended period, remove the battery for proper storage.
  • Lock the light or remove the battery to prevent accidental activation during storage or transportation.
  • Long-term use can result in O-ring wear. To maintain a proper water seal, replace the ring with an approved spare.
  • Periodic cleaning of the battery contacts improves the light's performance as dirty contacts may cause the light to flicker, shine intermittently or even fail to illuminate for the following reasons:
    A: Poor battery level.
Solution: Recharge or replace the battery
B: The contact or contact point of the battery or flashlight is dirty.
Solution: Clean the contact points with a cotton swab soaked in rubbing alcohol.

If the above methods don't work, please contact your authorized distributor.

bright and good looking

I bought this flashlight for my elderly mother who has macular degeneration. She uses it for all kinds of things around her house, and to go outside at low light. She loves the wrist handle, so she doesn’t drop it, and the different levels of lumens. I keep the charging cord plugged in for her so she can feel for it and easily recharge it. The diffuser attachment makes the light so bright its almost blinding! What a way to alert someone with a beacon, or provide a diffused bright light in a room at night.

A little dissapointed

I want to start by saying I absolutely love fenix flashlight. It's the only lights I own. And this will be my fifth or sixth one I believe. I got this light to replace my PD36R as my everyday carry for 2 main reasons. One because I wanted a light that can tail stand which is one of the only downsides of fenix flashlights, is a lot of them. Cannot tail stand. And 2 because I have the first version that is only 1600 lm. And I wanted a brighter flashlight. I gotta say this is one of the first fenix flashlight. That I was disappointed with the main reason being. It said it claims to be 3100 lm. But my 1600 lm PD36R seems far brighter then This supposed 3100 lm, flashlight. Also, the color temperature on the E35R seems like a much warmer color temperature and i really wish it were a cooler temp . Also while its nice to be able to tail stand the magnets are a little week and will only stick horizontally to some stuff . Alot of metal items it will only stick vertical ... not the end of the world but stonger magnets would be nice .. i do like the light still ... but those few things do bother me ... and i feel like the 3100 lumen is just plain wrong because it looks a little less bright then my 1600 lumen pd36r soo i dont understand that

The 'brightness' factor of the lumens is going to vary depending on the beam of the light too. For example. the PD36R reaches 928 feet (283m) on the 1600 lumen turbo, whereas the the E35R beam reaches 853 feet (260m) on Turbo of 3100 lumens. This means that the PD36R is more of a spot with some spill, while the E35R has more spill. The light will appear brighter due to it being more spot than flood, as the flood disperses the light more.

If we want to make comparisons at the same lumen level, we can look at the medium mode on each, which is 350 lumens. The PD36R reach is 128m, while E35R is 80. So again, that shows that PD36R is more spot with a longer reach while E35R is more of a flood light and spill. The best thing to look at if you want to compare brightness is to look at the chart and the intensity/candela. The candela on the PD36R on Turbo is 19,977 and the E35R Turbo is 15,103.

The E35R color temp actually should be in the same range as the PD36R,so it shouldn't be much warmer at all.

Pretty good light

I think the craftsman ship and materials are great. I like the large battery capacity. It's very bright and low power is sufficient for most of my tasks. I am still figuring out or getting adjusted to the double tap to unlock the light. Sometimes it takes me several tries to get it unlocked. Also, I have trouble finding the switch. I have had a tail switch for many years on my edc flashlight which I thought this flashlight would replace. I do prefer the tail switch just for the ease of use. The white diffuser is a great idea, I just am not going to be carrying it around with me. I might put this in my truck and try another tail switch flashlight.

Fantastic light. Unbelievable light for being so small.

Little Hot

Great quality flashlight as I expected however, the light part of it gets extremely hot when you turn it on.

With the size of the light and the higher lumen levels, it will generate some heat. We do have an Intelligent Overheat Protection feature on the light.

Intelligent Overheat Protection

Not a big fan. The button, the weak magnet, the spread of the light, the battery life. For the price I paid I’m probably going to return. Unsatisfied

1st of many Fenix lights I did not love…

First, I have to say though Fenix lights are the best, though this wasn’t the best in my opinion. I have used and purchased many headlamps and EDC lights for myself and because I’ve like them so much, as gifts for others. They have all impressed and been great. I had a problem with a headlamp once and it was replaced in short order. All good. Great customer service.

This light however is the 1st Fenix light that I don’t love. I mean, I’m spoiled now! The E35R works great, has good output and the usb-c charging is a nice feature. The dome is a nice option for diffused lantern like light too. It’s well waterproofed to use on a hunt or in my kayaking adventures. It’s small enough for a glove box, backpack or even a pocket and pack plenty of power. Still, meh…

My gripe is the switch though. In the dark it’s hard to find not being very raised nor having an end toggle like other models. Forget about it when wearing a glove, trying to find it quickly with cold, wet hands. I may glue something on it to make it more pronounced. It wouldn’t take much but I think it could be better.

Additionally, I have other lights with a magnetic base that were useful so I was interested in this feature too. First limitation, it’s only in the base. Second it is not strong enough to stick on a vertical surface. Could be stronger or even better if it were magnetic on a side too.

Not a terrible light at all but I have been spoiled by other Fenix lights and there are better options. So now, well, I’m a light snob!

I know we have had other people who struggle finding the side switch on the lights, something that has been passed on to the manufacturer. Sometimes lining up the clip with the button can help, or, as you said, I know some customers have glued something small onto the button to make it easier to find it.
