Warning: *21700 Li-ion batteries are powerful cells designed for commercial applications and must be treated with caution and handled with care. Only use quality batteries with circuit protection will reduce the potential for combustion or explosion; but cell damage or short circuiting are potential risks the user assumes.

Battery Replacement

Unscrew the tail cap to insert the battery with the anode side (+) towards the light head, then screw the tail cap back on.

Intelligent Overheat Protection

The light will accumulate a lot of heat when used on higher output levels for extended periods. When the light reaches a temperature of 60°C or above, the light will automatically step down a few lumens to reduce the temperature. When the temperature drops below 60°C, it will then allow the user for the reselection of higher modes.

Low-voltage Warning

When the voltage level drops below the preset level, the flashlight is programmed to downshift to a lower brightness level until Low output is reached. When this happens in Low output, the light blinks 3 times every 5 minutes to remind you to recharge or replace the battery.

Note: This only works with Fenix ARB-L21 Series 21700 rechargeable Li-ion battery.

Usage and Maintenance

  • Disassembling the sealed head can cause damage to the light and will void the warranty.
  • Fenix recommends using an excellent quality battery.
  • If the light will not be used for an extended period, remove the battery, or the light could be damaged by electrolyte leakage or battery explosion.
  • Lock the light or remove the battery to prevent accidental activation during storage or transportation.
  • Long-term use can result in O-ring wear. To maintain a proper water seal, replace the ring with an approved spare.
  • Periodic cleaning of the battery contacts improves the lamp's performance as dirty contacts may cause the lamp to flicker, shine intermittently or even fail to illuminate for the following reasons:
    A: The battery needs replacing.
Solution: Replace battery pack /battery (Ensure battery is inserted according to the manufacturer’s specifications).
B: The threads, PCB board contact or other contacts are dirty.
Solution: Clean the contact points with a cotton swab soaked in rubbing alcohol.

If the above methods don't work, please contact your authorized distributor.

Warning

  • Do NOT use the light in inappropriate ways such as biting in the mouth, to avoid personal injury or life threats when the light or internal battery fails!
  • This light will accumulate a lot of heat while working, resulting in a high temperature of the flashlight shell. Pay attention to safe use to avoid scalding.
  • Turn off and lock the light or remove the battery from the light to prevent accidental activation when the light is placed in a closed and flammable environment such as pockets and backpacks!
  • The LED of this flashlight is not replaceable; so the whole light should be replaced when the LED reaches the end of its life.

A: There are two reasons:

Intelligent Overheat Protection

The light will accumulate a lot of heat when used at relatively high modes for extended periods. When the light reaches a temperature of 60°C or above, the light will automatically step down a few lumens to reduce the temperature. When the temperature drops below 60°C, it will then allow the user to reselect the modes.

Fantastic light.

I have alot Fenix lights. It took me awhile to get use to the button as its alot different to there other torches.

I do alot of camping and this torch has become my go to torch for now.

The tac mechanism is easy to use and having ability to lock the switch outright is great. The Interface I am used to know, but does take some time to get used to.

Fenix's keep producing incredible lights. If you looking for a super bright, nice size tactical light, I really recommend this torch. If you are looking for something smaller, Take alook at the Fenix uc 35 v.2.

Quality Flashlight

Well made and beautiful finish. The spot goes a long distance and is bright. The only thing that would make this light perfect is having a battery indicator light. That would make it complete. The rest of the light is just awesome. The tail switch takes getting used to but I like it. Thanks for the high quality light Fenix.

Great light, incredible throw, mediocre user interface

The title says it all- love everything about the light except for the user interface- swapped out tailcap from my TK20R and viola!! Much better!!

Extremely bright, compact, and durable. Great for duty use.

I bought this after a Border Patrol friend recommended it to me and I'm glad I did. It's compact but brighter than my old duty issue SL-20. I like the momentary-on thumb switch for tactical use, as well as the adjustable brightness. It can adjust from a dim, soft light to full bright with a few taps. The turbo mode is amazing (I call it my tree-burning mode).
The included belt pouch is a nice feature although I have to make sure the power switch is on lock mode to prevent the thumb switch powering on accidentally just from inserting the light into the holder. You'll definitely know when that happens.

What a light!!

Second Febix light and I am so impressed by the quality and attention to detail. This light has excellent beam throw and beam quality and definition. Very impressed.

Nice throw and spill

Great light. I have the TK16 V2, TK20R V2 and the TK22 TAC- they all have their specialty. This light certainly has a more punchy hot spot. If you want more spill go with the TK16 V2.

The button on this 22 TAC is different… reviews show it’s a love and hate. But if you have a 16 V2 or 20R V2 you can order an extra tail cap from Fenix ($15) and it fits the 22 TAC perfectly.
