The Fenix LR50R 12000 lumen flashlight is the definition of a high-performance spotlight. Blasting a maximum 12000 lumens, this flashlight can throw that light an incredible 3117ft (950m)—that’s over half of a mile. The Fenix LR50R’s most unique feature is its intelligent downshifting sensor which recognizes when the flashlight’s head is too close to an object and will automatically downshift the brightness level to avoid accidents due to excessive heat. The included li-ion battery pack not only powers its eight lighting modes, but you can also use its discharge function to charge other devices. Intelligent Brightness Downshifting Sensor

The flashlight has a built-in intelligent sensing circuit. When the light surface is close to the lighting object (about 60mm) for more than 1.5 seconds, the flashlight will automatically downshift the output level to Eco to avoid danger caused by high temperature. When the light surface is more than 0.8 seconds away from the lighting object, the flashlight automatically recalls the previously used output level. *As objects of different materials and colors reflect differently to light, there will be slight deviations in the sensing distance.

Turning on/off Intelligent Brightness Downshifting Sensor

  • With the light unlocked, press and hold the right switch over 10 seconds, the light will flash four times at the present mode and then will constantly light up at the present mode, indicating the sensor function is disabled.
  • With the light unlocked, press and hold the right switch over 10 seconds, the light will flash twice at the present mode and then will constantly light up at the present mode, indicating the sensor function is enabled.
  • The sensor function is factory set to ON.
  • The Intelligent Brightness Downshifting Sensor Function can be manually enabled and disabled.

Intelligent Protection

Time-limited downshift

With the light switched on, if Turbo is being selected for over 20 seconds, the light will downshift until to 8000 lumens within 60 seconds.

With the light switched on, if High II is being selected for over 60 seconds, the light will downshift until to 4000 lumens within 60 seconds.

Note: The abovementioned functions are specially designed for avoiding discomfort and danger caused by overheating.

Overheat Protection

The light will accumulate a lot of heat when used on High I, High II or Turbo output level for extended periods. When the light reaches a temperature of 60°C or above, the light will automatically step down a few lumens to reduce the temperature. When the temperature drops below 60°C, it will then allow the user for the reselection of those modes.

Low-voltage Warning

When the voltage level drops below the preset level, the flashlight is programmed to downshift to a lower brightness level until Eco output is reached. When this happens in Eco output mode, the battery level indicator blinks to remind you to timely recharge or replace the battery.

Note: This only works with the included Fenix ARB-L52-16000 battery pack.

Usage and Maintenance of the Fenix LR50R 12,000 Lumen Flashlight

  • Disassembling the sealed head can cause damage to the light and will void the warranty.
  • Fenix recommends using an excellent quality battery.
  • If the light will not be used for an extended period, remove the battery, or the light could be damaged by electrolyte leakage.
  • Lock the light or take out the battery to prevent accidental activation during storage or transportation. Recharge a stored battery every four months to maintain optimal battery performance.
  • Long-term use can result in O-ring wear. To maintain a proper water seal, replace the ring with an approved spare.
  • Periodic cleaning of the battery contacts improves the light's performance as dirty contacts may cause the light to flicker, shine intermittently or even fail to illuminate for the following reasons:
    A: The battery needs replacing.
Solution: Replace battery (Ensure battery is inserted according to the manufacturer’s specifications).
B: The threads, PCB board contact or other contacts are dirty.
Solution: Clean the contact points with a cotton swab soaked in rubbing alcohol. If the above methods don't work, please contact your authorized distributor.

Warning

  • This flashlight is a high-intensity lighting device capable of causing eye damage to the user or others. Avoid shining the flashlight directly into anyone's eyes.
  • This flashlight will accumulate a lot of heat when used for extended periods, resulting in high temperature of the flashlight shell. Pay attention to safe use to avoid scalding.

Great bright light

The LR50R is a great medium size spot light. Easy to access the full 12,000 lumen mode with one button click. A great light for around camp when you don’t wanna carry the big LR80R around. And the ability to use other 21700 batteries is a plus. Great light, highly recommend.

Works as advertised

It took me a month or so to filter through all the available information on the web, but I settled for the Fenix LR50R after watching the Charles Bridgtec review on you(know).
Took longer than expected to get it, but that's just the way it is nowadays.
Once I had it in my large mits, it fit like a glove. I knew it was going to be heavy, but it's not so bad for my use. Throw and flood are great, and the lower settings are perfect.
The only thing I wish they had provided is some sort of lens protector. I don't use the holster, so there is a risk of scratching that I'm not comfortable with taking, so I'm searching for a solution.
Great light, thanks for reading!

Good Light

Light is great but the cost isn't worth it.
The on/off buttons are not very user friendly even with the light turned on. Very hard to operate when wearing gloves.
I doubt I would recommend this light to others.

Very Mushy Button, Not Suitable For Duty Use

I am a first responder, I ordered this light to use while at work. I received my order today and am very disappointed in the quality. The left auxiliary button is very mushy and has no tactile feel or click. Being able to feel the click is critical for any light we use for emergency response, especially when we wear gloves. I can't recommend this light for anything other than casual use, such as camping. However, everything else about the light is great. I did receive a first responder discount when I placed my order, so it isn't a complete loss. I do have several old Fenix TK75 lights that I will continue to use until I can find suitable replacements.
