!

*21700 Li-ion batteries are powerful cells designed for commercial applications and must be treated with caution and handled with care. Only using quality batteries with circuit protection will reduce the potential for combustion or explosion. Cell abuse or short circuiting are considered user induced damage and are not covered by any Fenix warranty or liability.

Battery Replacement

Unscrew the tail cap and insert the battery with the anode side (+) towards the light head, then screw the tail cap back on.

Charging

  1. Open the anti-dust cover to reveal the USB Type-C charging port and plug the USB-A socket of the charging cable into an an appropriate AC powered USB plug/outlet, then connect the USB Type-C socket of the charging cable to the flashlight.

  2. The indicator will display red while charging, and will turn to green when fully charged.

  3. Once charging is completed, be sure to unplug the charging cable and close the anti-dust cover.

Note:

  1. When charging fails or the battery is inserted backwards, the battery level indicator will flash red to notify the user to check the battery condition.

  2. The normal charging time of the flashlight is approximately 3.5 hours from depletion to fully charged. The flashlight cannot be operated while charging.

  3. Recharge a stored light every four months to maintain the optimum performance of the battery.

*Note: These features only works with a Fenix ARB-L21 series rechargeable battery.

Battery level indication

Each time the light is turned on, the indicator will indicate the battery level and will last for 3 seconds.

Green light on: saturated 100% - 85%

Green light flashes: sufficient 85% - 50%

Red light on: poor 50% - 25%

Red light flashes: critical 25% - 1%

*Note: This feature only works with a Fenix ARB-L21 series rechargeable battery.

Intelligent Overheat Protection

The lamp will accumulate a lot of heat when used at high output levels for extended periods. When the light reaches a temperature of 65°C/149°F or above, the light will automatically step down a few lumens to reduce the temperature. When the temperature drops below 65°C/149°F,

the light automatically recalls the previously used output level.

Low-voltage Warning

When the voltage level drops below the preset level, the lamp is programmed to downshift to a lower brightness level until Low output is reached. When this happens in Low output, the battery level indicator blinks red to remind you to replace or recharge the battery.

*Note: This feature only works with a Fenix ARB-L21 series rechargeable battery.

Usage and Maintenance

  • Disassembling the sealed head can cause damage to the light and will void the warranty.
  • Fenix recommends using an excellent quality battery.
  • If the light will not be used for an extended period, remove the battery, or the light could be damaged by electrolyte leakage or battery explosion.
  • Remove the battery to prevent accidental activation during storage or transportation.
  • Long-term use can result in O-ring wear. To maintain a proper water seal, replace the ring with an approved spare.
  • Periodic cleaning of the battery contacts improves the lamp's performance as dirty contacts may cause the lamp to flicker, shine intermittently or even fail to illuminate for the following reasons:
    A: Poor battery level.
Solution: Replace or recharge the battery (Ensure the battery is inserted according to the manufacturer’s specifications).
B: The threads, PCB board contact or other contacts are dirty.
Solution: Clean the contact points with a cotton swab soaked in rubbing alcohol.

If the above methods don't work, please contact your authorized distributor.

Warning

  • DO NOT place this flashlight in the reach of children!
  • Do NOT shine the flashlight directly into the eyes of anyone!
  • Do NOT place light head near flammable objects as high temperatures can cause objects to overheat and become flammable/ignite!
  • Do NOT use the flashlight in inappropriate ways such as holding the unit in your mouth. If the battery were to fail while doing so death or serious injury could result.
  • This flashlight will accumulate a lot of heat while operating, resulting in a high temperature of the flashlight outer case. Pay close attention to the thermal condition of the flashlight to avoid burns.
  • Remove the battery from the flashlight to prevent accidental activation when the flashlight is placed in a closed-in and flammable environment such as pockets and backpacks!
  • The LED of this flashlight is not replaceable; so the whole flashlight will need to be replaced when the LED reaches the end of its lifespan.

It's a great light but I thought I'd have a wider and brighter view of my surroundings. It shines further than I can see but I was expecting it to light up more of my surroundings. It's a white light laser and it's perfect if you want to read a cows ear tag in the middle of the night at 600 yards but if you're under 100 yards and you want to see just as wide as you can far then this is not the light.

Beautifully Crafted Reflector Equals A Precise Throw

Well, another Fenix favorite has arrived. A precision thrower is just the beginning. Don't miss the turbo mode, you will throw a scorching 300,000 candela, remarkable, and adapted as a weapons light, you have an extraordinary predator system. Having served in and outside the wire, Fenix lights are my choice in lighting mounted with (2) 1 inch 7075 T6 high end scope rings in pic rail or Mlok setups. They easily survive 7.62x51 long and short stroke piston weapons and impingement variants with superior build quality. As a cautionary note, I mount 4 inch's or to the shadow break, depending on reflector, behind the muzzle break, or, 2 inches behind a blast diffuser or suppressor. One of the best weapon lights I've adapted, is the Fenix, HT32 with a Red high intensity LED for defensive purposes, Green for predators and White to clear an area. Fenix is a solid, forward thinking company, and from my LR60R on down, I remain very impressed.

“Best light ever”

I have been using Fenix flashlights for more than 15yrs,they are part of my EDC, I carry a PD35 all day everyday, but as good as that is something was missing, I live in the foothills of the central Sierra Nevada’s, I needed something to really reach out into the darkness and light up the hills, and the HT18R does exactly that,if you’re looking for a next level flashlight look no further. I couldn’t be happier.

Very Bright & Useful

I wanted a flashlight that is bright and has a long reach beam. This IS the light!
Lightweight and easy to use and carry. Multiple brightness settings.
I have been using Fenix lights for 15 + years (LE Career) and they are the best. They take abuse / daily use and keep going.
