The Fenix TK30 is a white laser flashlight. A Class 3B laser stimulates a fluorescent crystal to create a broad spectrum white light, allowing this flashlight to throw 500 lumens a jaw-dropping distance of 3937 feet (1200m)—that is 3/4 of a mile! The laser light creates a more focused spotlight beam, than a standard LED flashlight, with little spill over light. The tactical tail switch operates on/off and momentary on while the side switch operates the 3 lighting modes. Other features include a battery level indicator and it is IP68 rated dustproof and waterproof. Switches of TK30 Laser Flashlight

The tail switch is the tactical switch, the side switch is the functional switch.


When the light is off, tap the tail switch to momentarily turn on the light, release it the light will go out.
Fully press the tail switch to constantly turn on the light, press once again to turn off the light.


When the light is switched on, single click the functional side switch to cycle through Low→High.


When the light is switched on, press and hold the functional switch for 0.8 seconds to enter strobe. Single click the functional side switch to turn back to the previously used output.


The light memorizes the last selected output excluding strobe. When turned on again the previously used output will be recalled.


When the light is switched on, the battery level indicator inside the side switch will light up to display the battery status, the indicator will stay on for 3 seconds before it goes off.

Warning: The Fenix dedicated ALF-18 battery holder must be used together when using 18650 Li-ion batter.

*18650 and 21700 Li-ion batteries are powerful cells designed for commercial applications and must be treated with caution and handled with care. Only use quality batteries with circuit protection will reduce the potential for combustion or explosion; but cell damage or short circuiting are potential risks the user assumes.


Unscrew the tail cap to insert the battery with the anode side (+) towards the light head, then screw the tail cap back on.

Low-voltage Warning
When the voltage level drops below the preset level, the flashlight is programmed to downshift to a lower brightness level until Low output is reached. When this happens in Low output mode, the indicator in the mid of the functional side switch will flash red to remind you to recharge or replace the battery. To ensure normal use, the flashlight will not turn off automatically and will work till the battery runs out completely.

Note: This only works with Fenix ARB-L21 Series 21700 rechargeable Li-ion battery.

Intelligent Protection of TK30 Laser Flashlight
The light will accumulate a lot of heat when used on Turbo output level for extended periods. When the light reaches a temperature of 65°C or above, the light will automatically step down by a few lumens to reduce temperature. When the temperature is reduced, the output will gradually return.


  • Disassembling the sealed head can cause damage to the light and will void the warranty.
  • Fenix recommends only using quality battery with proper built-in protections.
  • If the light will not be used for an extended period, remove the battery, or the light could be damaged by electrolyte leakage or battery explosion.
  • The included battery needs to be charged when it is near depletion. Please immediately charge the battery when it is depleted without concern of affecting the Li-ion It has no memory effect.
  • Unscrew the tail cap half a turn or take out the battery to prevent accidental activation during storage or transportation.
  • Long-term use can result in O-ring wear. To maintain a proper water seal, replace the ring with an approved spare (included) when damaged.
  • Periodic cleaning of the battery contacts improves the lamp’s performance as dirty contacts may cause the lamp to flicker, shine intermittently or even fail to illuminate for the following reasons:
    A: The battery needs replacing.
    Solution: Replace battery (Ensure battery is inserted according to the manufacturer’s specifications).
    B: The threads, PCB board contact or other contacts are dirty.
    Solution: Clean the contact points with a cotton swab soaked in rubbing alcohol.

    I work as a wildland fire fighter and this light is incredible. It takes all of the guess work out of signaling at night. I agree with others that it is not for close up work but for distance it has no equal!

    Just amazing! I own every type of flashlight and walk at night in the desert neighborhoods. Javalinas and Coyotes are everywhere. This lets me spot them a quarter mile away!

    BEST OF ALL I can scan up and down the street and since there’s virtually no spill (tight beam) I’m not flashing lights in houses disturbing people . Wow. It’s in a 360 degree holster on every walk!

    WOW! That’s the first thing I said when I tested this flashlight. It is Unbelievable how far this thing reaches. I’m going to try to keep this review short and to the point. this flashlight is not A EDC light. it’s beam is way too focused for normal flashlight use. It’s like looking though a keyhole. Instead this light is phenomenal for long distance searches, target acquisition, pointing out objects, and things of this nature. It is a solid light, easy to use, and reliable as are all fenix lights. The only reason I didn’t give this light a 5-star review is the lack of a diffuser. Without a diffuser I have to carry a second light for close distances. It would be nice if there was a way to use this light for everything.

    For the application that I’m looking to use this for, it’s excellent! I haven’t owned anything with this type of beam before, I believe it’s in a class all it’s own. The closest I own is the Nitecore TM28 but that’s only just over half the throw distance and not meant for range, just volume. Regretfully, I won’t be able to fully test it’s capability until June, and that’s if this Covid19 mess ends by then. During the summer I visit multiple locations that are usually out of the way and outdoors/indoors/abandoned so this will be perfect.

    Specific likes:
    – Didn’t get unbearably hot after 10 minutes of constant use. The beam doesn’t emit as much heat as I thought it would either.
    – The battery life is great, I can’t seem to find anything that can remain this intense for as long as advertised. I’ll have to continue testing.

    – One thing right away that I see that’s an issue is that it’s impossible to use this to safely illuminate something within 25 feet, it’s just too intense. A silicone diffuser (so it doesn’t melt) would be perfect.
    – It could also use some more steps to adjust output, I’m used to at least 4 along with a moonlight mode. I could only imagine how long this battery could last at 1 lumen or less.
    – I’m really worried about dropping it. With all of these lenses focusing the laser, misalignment could be catastrophic.

    I like it a lot. I would continue to purchase this technology without question if it could be adapted to more applications: I’d buy an EDC-type to carry every day using an 18650 and something even smaller, like 16340 sized. They would just need ways to adjust the beam’s intensity but having that power available as well wouldn’t hurt either.

    I was originally going to purchase the AceBeam W30, which uses the exact same technology, albeit with a stronger beam. The W30’s biggest downfall is size, as cost is about the same. The spill pattern is slightly larger as well, but with both systems the beam is narrow due to the technology used. I have a PD36R I purchased at the same time to replace my aging Streamlight Strion and this is my go-to light for duty needs. I use the TK30 for larger areas when spotting or tracking groups, and to also locate different types of sUAS during the night landing phase. It performs up to my expectations on brightness, but the beam pattern leaves something to be desired. I understand that the technology limits your ability to use a standard depth adjustable reflector to adjust the beam spill, but a two lens system might make this doable on this light, Just my two cents.
