* It is prohibited to use 18650, 16340 or CR123A batteries.

* 21700 Li-ion batteries are powerful cells designed for commercial applications and must be treated with caution and handled with care. Only use quality batteries with circuit protection will reduce the potential for combustion or explosion; but cell damage or short circuiting are potential risks the user assumes.

Battery Replacement
Unscrew the light tail and insert the battery with the anode side (+) towards the light head, then screw the light tail back on.

Charging the TK20R V2.0

  1. Loosen the light head counterclockwise to reveal the USB Type-C charging port and plug the USB A socket of the charging cable into an electrical outlet, then connect the USB Type-C socket of the charging cable to the light.
  2. The indicator will display red while charging and will turn green when fully charged.
  3. Once charging is completed, be sure to tighten the light head to maintain the dustproof and waterproof ability.

  1. When charging fails or the battery is reversely connected, the battery indicator will flash red to remind the user to check the battery.
  2. The normal charging time of the included Fenix ARB-L21-5000 V2.0 is approximately 3.5 hours from depletion to full charging.
  3. Recharge a stored light every four months to maintain the optimum performance of the battery.
  4. The light is unavailable while charging.

Note: This only works with Fenix ARB-L21 series 21700 rechargeable Li-ion battery.

Battery Level Indication
Each time the light is turned on, the indicator (unscrew the light head to see) will indicate the battery level and will last for 3 seconds.

  • Green light on: saturated 100% – 85%
  • Green light flashes: sufficient 85% – 50%
  • Red light on: poor 50% – 25%
  • Red light flashes: critical 25% – 1%

Note: This only works with Fenix ARB-L21 series 21700 rechargeable Li-ion battery.

Intelligent Overheat Protection
The light will accumulate a lot of heat when used on Turbo output levels for extended periods. When the light reaches a temperature of 60°C or above, the light will automatically step down a few lumens to reduce the temperature. When the temperature drops below 60°C, it will then allow the user for the reselection of Turbo mode.

Low-voltage Warning
When the voltage level drops below the preset level, the flashlight is programmed to downshift to a lower brightness level until Eco output is reached. When this happens in Eco output mode, the light blinks 3 times every 5 minutes to remind you to timely recharge or replace the battery.

Note: This only works with Fenix ARB-L21 series 21700 rechargeable Li-ion battery.

TK20R V2.0 Usage and Maintenance

  • Disassembling the sealed head can cause damage to the light and will void the warranty.
  • Fenix recommends using only a high-quality protected battery.
  • If the light will not be used for an extended period, remove the battery for proper storage.
  • Unscrew the tail cap or remove the battery to prevent accidental activation during storage or transportation.
  • Long-term use can result in O-ring wear. To maintain a proper water seal, replace the ring with an approved spare.
  • Periodic cleaning of the battery contacts improves the light’s performance as dirty contacts may cause the light to flicker, shine intermittently or even fail to illuminate for the following reasons:
    A: Poor battery level.
Solution: Recharge or replace the battery.
B: The contact or contact point of the battery or flashlight is dirty.
Solution: Clean the contact points with a cotton swab soaked in rubbing alcohol.

If the above methods don’t work, please contact your authorized distributor.

This is my second one. The light is very powerful and I like the new design. The bulb gets a little to hot to the touch. I like the pouch it comes in and hope it holds up…

I have several Fenix flashlights and they get better with every generation.
I started with an TK22 and loved the tight, long distance beam but The controls were cumbersome.

TK16 V2 had outstanding brightness, but too much spread. While it featured an innovative dual button tail control- unfortunately the Secondary switch that controls brightness level was placed too high on the tail and accidentally activated way too easily.

    Finally – The Perfect Flashlight…….
A tight, well defined long distance beam, refined tail controls, and loads of power! By lowering the mode switch on the tail, the dual button controls now work the way they should. No more accidental mode changes! Add a Built in USB-C charger port and a battery level indicator….. Fenix has now hit the jackpot with this flashlight!

FENIX TK20R V2.0 is the best light ever, better than Klarus XT21X!!! Was a fenix fan from the start (L2D CE Q5 and LD20 R4) and shyed away years later when they added the side switch to the LD22…I started using eagtac D25A2 clicky as it was all controlled by a reverse clicky. The last fenix lights I bought was the LD11, LD22 and 2017 edition neutral LD12. I tried klarus lights and the last four klarus lights I bought frome 2017 – 2020 all had either defective switches or other serious issues! I’ve never had an issue with any fenix light. I literally threw 3 of the klarus in the trash can and kept only one, which still has major issues…its the xt21x and the issue with it is the highest output only stays on from 2 to 12 seconds and dims (faulty heat sensor?) I keep it at work (security) and have it there so the guards can use it to blind wierdos in the middle of the night if they have to, other than that its a paper weight. I’ve been looking to replace the xt21x with a similar light and the fenix tk16 2.0 and tk20r 2.0 were almost perfect for the position…I wanted flashlights with more throw, yet still had high output. I’ve never been a fan of memory modes, but I’ve become accustomed to it and have adapted. Having the instant stobe on MAX output is perfect to deter dogs and drunk or high meth heads at my work…my medical facility is straight across from the county housing and the weirdos occasionally do wonder over and cause issues…its better than pepper spraying them. I absolutely love both of these lights and I can tell they both are of high quality build, just as my L2D and LD20 from years ago. One thing I’ve noticed is eagtac claims to use aerospace aluminium, but I will tell you from years of experience, the fenix brand uses higher quality aluminum in their flashlights compared to eagtac, as they hold up better from being dropped on cement repeatedly. I’ve killed two eagtac by dropping them on cement and all my fenix still work, even though many have years of service and have been dropped on cement many times, they literally keep going and going and going and won’t quit!!! I have once again become a FENIX fan and highly recommend them to all my friends and family. I’ve had many nurses at work ask about the tk20r 2.0 and even cops in the ER want to see it…they can play with it, but can’t keep it! 🙂

This is exactly the light I was looking for. It is amazingly bright even at the lowest setting. Good hand feel and the buttons are laid out in a way you won’t even have to think about them.
