With the light on, single-click the side switch to cycle through Low→Mid→High→Turbo.

Intelligent Memory Circuit
The flashlight memorizes the last brightness level used in the General mode, the next time it is turned on, it will recall that previously used General brightness level.

Over-heat Protection
The flashlight will accumulate a lot of heat when it is working at Turbo brightness level. When it works at Turbo for 5 minutes, the flashlight will automatically downshift to High output to prevent the light from overheating. If the Turbo output is needed, please reset it again. But the flashlight could be damaged or the normal service life could be shortened because of continuous use like this.

Low-voltage Warning Function
When the voltage level drops below the preset level, the flashlight is programmed to downshift to a lower brightness level. When this happens in Low output mode, the flashlight blinks three times every five minutes to remind you to charge the light or replace the battery. To ensure normal use, the flashlight will not turn off automatically and will work until the over-discharge function stops the battery from working.

Note: This only works on 14500 rechargeable Li-ion battery. When the voltage of 14500 battery is detected lower than 3V, low-voltage warning function will fail if the flashlight is turned on again.

Magnetic Suction Charging
Connect the USB AM port of the charging cable to the power source, the indicator light will turn green. Then draw the magnetic end of the charging cable close to the flashlight, the charging cable will absorb to the charging port automatically and the charging has begun. The indicator light will flash green in charging process. Last the indicator light turns solid green when charging completely done. The normal charging time is about 1.5 hours.

Note:

  1. RC05 only charges normal on 14500 rechargeable battery, Fenix ARB-L14-800 battery with protective circuit is recommended.
  2. Charging with the light on is not recommended, doing so may cause extended charging time or less fully charged battery. If emergency lighting is needed, the flashlight is only available at Mid output level when it is charging.

Battery Replacement
Unscrew the light body to insert the battery with the anode side (+) toward the light’s head, screw the light body back on.

Usage and Maintenance

  • Disassembling the sealed head can cause damage to the light and will void the warranty.
  • Fenix recommends using excellent quality battery. If the flashlight will not be used for an extended period, remove the battery, or the flashlight could be damaged by electrolyte leakage or battery explosion.
  • Unscrew the light body one-half turn or take out the battery to prevent accidental activation during storage or transportation.
  • Long-term use can result in O-ring wear. To maintain a proper water seal, replace the ring with an approved spare.
  • Periodic cleaning of the battery contacts improves the flashlight’s performance as dirty contacts may cause the flashlight to flicker, shine intermittently or even fail to illuminate for the following reasons:
Reason A: The batteries need replacing.
Solution: Replace batteries (Please confirm the correct installation of anode and cathode).
Reason B: The threads, PCB boards contact or other contacts are dirty.
Solution: Clean the contact points with a cotton swab soaked in rubbing alcohol.

If the above methods don’t work, please refer to the warranty policy before contacting your authorized distributor.

Warning
The flashlight is a high-intensity lighting device capable of causing eye damage to the user or others. Avoid shining the light directly into anyone’s eyes.

Simply a great, reliable, and handy flashlight. The magnetic tail is SOO useful. It may be on the smaller (more compact) end as far as size goes, however, it throws a beautiful beam on super clear light. On High, it lights the room. On Low, it’s perfect for close-up tasks and reading. This is one of many Fenix lights that is going in my sea bag when I deploy! Bravo Zulu again Fenix! Customer for life here.

I bought my RC05 at Sportsmans Warhehouse. Best light I have had. I use a flashlight everyday for work. This is the smallest, cheapest, brightest, fastest charging, longest lasting, most durable flashlight you can buy. I looked alot. Its also super handy that you can grab a normal AA and bring it with you if you know you wont be able to charge it. I am a heavy equipment tech and this is way better than anything the tool trucks sell.

I dropped my light in a 5 gallon bucket of hydraulic oil while I was looking for metal in the oil. The light stayed on and I retrieved it with a magnet and cleaned it off. No problems ever.

The only thing that I wish was different was the strobe mode and the lock. The strobe turns on when Im in a bad position and its hard to get back to the normal modes. I hate it when I lock it on accident and have to remember how to unlock it. Its also annoying to explain to anyone else using it how to use use it. Its like you have to be trained on how to use the light. Despite that its still one of my favorite things. I cant go anywhere without it.

Best flashlight I have ever had. It was just what I needed for EDC purposes, and I didn’t realize how much it helped until I started carrying it everywhere with me. All the features work exceptionally well and the charge lasts very long even on turbo. Great for hunting. My only complaint is that I can’t remember where I put it last. I guess I’ll be getting another one.

Best flashlight I’ve ever owned by far. I work in the HVAC industry, and haved used everything from corded Trouble lights to big bulky flashlights. I was never satisfied with the cords getting tangled or the batteries to replace costing more then the flashlights themselves. This flashlight is small, rechargeable, and durable. I have dropped this flashlight into mortar, 5 gal bucket of water, mud. Dropped it on solid concrete more times then I can count. It does sport some war wounds from being dropped, but still works like a charm. I can go a whole week in between charges on med low setting doing service calls on furnaces. The only complaint I have is when I forget it at home. Thanks for the quality build.

Perfect flashlight if you’re looking for a small and powerful everyday carry and don’t require a tail switch. Instead of a tail switch the RC05 has a powerful magnet. I prefer to have a tail switch but I have no problem trading it for the magnet, it comes in very handy. I also like having a reversed clip, I usually wear a hat and it’s easy to clip it to the brim, if I need both hands.
The RC05 charges using a magnetic connection, which makes connecting and disconnecting very easy. I bought this light for my wife’s car thinking it would be good to leave in the glove box, plugged into the usb so it would always be charged. When I got light I did not realize there was only magnetic charging, no micro usb, so I was worried the magnet would disconnect, but it held up fine in the glovebox. You can also use a AA battery if you need to. Having the option to use readily available batteries is a must, in my opinion.
The side switch is pretty much standard, press for half second to turn on/off, click to cycle through outputs and press and hold for strobe. The light also has a lock-out function to prevent from being accidently turned on in bag or pocket. The switch is recessed a little, also helping from being accidently turned on, and has grooves milled on both sides which makes the light real comfortable in your hand. I bought this light for my wife, but I like it so much I might make it for my edc.

Been using my RC 05 for six or more months it is my EDC. WOULD BE IMPOSSIBLE TO SECURE ANOTHER light of this quality and price. The magnetic recharge is super good and fast. Looking to get a RC 11 next for a truck light emergency

Great flashlight for EDC. I don’t even notice that it is in my pocket and have used when I least expected many times. The magnetic charging is a nice feature but I have a stand alone charger I use more often, it seems to charge the battery faster. But the ability to take a AA in an emergency was one of the main reasons I got this particular light, Great feature! The flashlight is very bright for it’s size and very tough as well, so far it has never failed me. The only complaint is enabeling the lock feature tends to be a little tedious. I can’t get it to lock everytime, it usually takes a couple tries. Otherwise, I can’t really complain too much about anything else, the double clip is a great feature and I have even clipped it on my hat once and besides being heavy on the hat it also did the job. I’d recommend this to just about anyone.
