Warning: * 16340/ 18650 Li-ion batteries are powerful cells designed for commercial applications and must be treated with caution and handled with care. Only use quality batteries with circuit protection will reduce the potential for combustion or explosion; but cell damage or short circuiting are potential risks the user assumes.
Battery Replacement
Unscrew the light tail to insert the battery with the anode side (+) towards the light head, then screw the light tail back on.
Intelligent Overheat Protection
The light will accumulate a lot of heat when used on High output level for extended periods. When the light reaches a temperature of 60°C or above, the light will automatically step down a few lumens to reduce the temperature. When the temperature drops below 60°C, it will then allow the user for the reselection of High mode.
Low-voltage Warning
When the voltage level drops below the preset level, the flashlight is programmed to downshift to a lower brightness level until Low output is reached. When this happens in Low output mode, the battery level indicator blinks 3 times every 5 minutes to remind you to timely recharge or replace the battery.
Note: This only works with Fenix ARB-L18 18650 Li-ion battery.
Usage and Maintenance
- Disassembling the sealed head can cause damage to the light and will void the warranty.
- Fenix recommends using an excellent quality battery.
- If the light will not be used for an extended period, remove the battery, or the light could be damaged by electrolyte leakage or battery explosion.
- Unscrew the light tail or remove the battery to prevent accidental activation during storage or transportation.
- Long-term use can result in O-ring wear. To maintain a proper water seal, replace the ring with an approved spare.
- Periodic cleaning of the battery contacts improves the lamp’s performance as dirty contacts may cause the lamp to flicker, shine intermittently or even fail to illuminate for the following reasons:A: The battery needs replacing.
Solution: Replace battery pack / battery (Ensure battery is inserted according to the manufacturer’s specifications).B: The threads, PCB board contact or other contacts are dirty.
Solution: Clean the contact points with a cotton swab soaked in rubbing alcohol.
If the above methods don’t work, please contact your authorized distributor.
Warning
- This flashlight is a high-intensity lighting device capable of causing eye damage to the user or others. Avoid shining the flashlight directly into anyone’s eyes.
- This flashlight will accumulate a lot of heat when used for extended periods, resulting in high temperature of the flashlight shell. Pay attention to safe use to avoid scalding.
- All information provided in this manual is subject to change without prior notice.

I originally left a review about the soft switch and finicky strobe mode. Just want to update that I found out the taller 18650 battery w/ USB-C port type (Coast ZX850) fixed the switch problem! That battery is a little taller than a normal 18650 battery which for some reason makes the switch very responsive & accurate as advertised. So 5-stars rating if using correct battery!

I checked your order and it doesn’t look like you purchased one of our batteries at the time you purchased the light. As such I’m not sure what battery you were originally using in the light. If it was a flat top battery, then no, it would not be a secure connection. This light takes the button top batteries, as listed on the compatible accessories tab on the product page.

I was about to purchase a PD35Tac but saw this one just got release so I ended up getting the PD32 v2. I like the slim profile, which makes it much easier to put in pocket. It’s also very bright, but gets hot really quicky (deduct 1 star). The main issue is with the tail-switch mech. which I really don’t like. I can’t feel if it really clicks into full mode or on half mode, so to turn on or off I will need a great force to press it. And the strobe mode is very finicky to enter, again because the switch is so bad/soft. So I have to go through a couple times to finally be able to hold it down more than 1 sec to enter Strobe mode. So it would be a pretty useless feature when I need strobe in an Emergency. I have a Pelican 7000 v2 which is $50 and the switch is wayyyy beter. I can feel the ‘click’ everytime and I click 2 times to enter strobe mode. Only if the Pelican 7000 is as small & slim as this one, it would have been a 1st choice.

Absolutely love this light, the best Fenix yet. Range is noticeably further than the PD35 v2.0. Low voltage indication works perfectly with non-Fenix unprotected batteries despite what they claim on the website and in the instruction booklet, and the torch cuts out at 3v to protect the battery.
It does tail stand but only just, it would be very easy to knock it over. I hope they will continue to make more high candela focused beam lights as this is just awesome.
