Warning: * 16340/ 18650 Li-ion batteries are powerful cells designed for commercial applications and must be treated with caution and handled with care. Only use quality batteries with circuit protection will reduce the potential for combustion or explosion; but cell damage or short circuiting are potential risks the user assumes.

Battery Replacement
Unscrew the light tail to insert the battery with the anode side (+) towards the light head, then screw the light tail back on.

Intelligent Overheat Protection
The light will accumulate a lot of heat when used on High output level for extended periods. When the light reaches a temperature of 60°C or above, the light will automatically step down a few lumens to reduce the temperature. When the temperature drops below 60°C, it will then allow the user for the reselection of High mode.

Low-voltage Warning
When the voltage level drops below the preset level, the flashlight is programmed to downshift to a lower brightness level until Low output is reached. When this happens in Low output mode, the battery level indicator blinks 3 times every 5 minutes to remind you to timely recharge or replace the battery.

Note: This only works with Fenix ARB-L18 18650 Li-ion battery.

Usage and Maintenance

  • Disassembling the sealed head can cause damage to the light and will void the warranty.
  • Fenix recommends using an excellent quality battery.
  • If the light will not be used for an extended period, remove the battery, or the light could be damaged by electrolyte leakage or battery explosion.
  • Unscrew the light tail or remove the battery to prevent accidental activation during storage or transportation.
  • Long-term use can result in O-ring wear. To maintain a proper water seal, replace the ring with an approved spare.
  • Periodic cleaning of the battery contacts improves the lamp’s performance as dirty contacts may cause the lamp to flicker, shine intermittently or even fail to illuminate for the following reasons:A: The battery needs replacing.
Solution: Replace battery pack / battery (Ensure battery is inserted according to the manufacturer’s specifications).B: The threads, PCB board contact or other contacts are dirty.
Solution: Clean the contact points with a cotton swab soaked in rubbing alcohol.

If the above methods don’t work, please contact your authorized distributor.

Tailcap takes some getting use too

Let me start off by saying this is just a powerhouse, the output is significant and runtime is excellent. The trade off for that kind of performance is that it does generate heat, that really isn’t a knock on the light, that’s just physics – do expect the light to get warm when running it on the highest setting. That being said, I find the mid power level to be a very happy medium of output and heat and an easy half press later you can get to full power if you need it to. I have had this light for a month and have traveled with it and used it for workouts with law-enforcement, it has stood up to every task I have thrown at it so far. I really like the elimination of the side switch for tactical settings because it prevents accidentally dropping power from max to low if you over grip with your little finger on the button – I have had that happen with my PD35 (great light, trust it with my life, but know your limitations) in shooting situations and it can be disorienting. The PD32 V2.0 eliminates that possibility by making your mode selection tail-cap only, which I find more reliable.
I also love the high candela rating on every mode this light offers, that results in the light being more blinding and traveling further – you can think of it as the density of the beam (ish). That again makes this light a great tactical option, or just a great option hiking in the backwoods at night, because you can see further with excellent clarity.
The tail switch is different than Fenix has used on any of their other lights (that I have tried). It is a lighter press, but the moderate depth of press and the ‘click’ at the bottom make it very controllable and allow you to easily select momentary on or deep-press for constant on. It also allows you to cycle brightness (with the light on half-press the switch) easily and quickly. Finally, I love that there are 3 brightness levels. You really only need a low, a mid and a high and it allows you to cycle to the best mode efficiently without trying to remember if you are on 3/5 or 4/5 when you try to get to max brightness like you need to with some other lights.
The beam pattern is narrower than the PD35, but that more focused beam travels further and shifts this light into more of a ‘throw’ than a ‘flood’ but not so dramatically that you will have problems using the light in a wide variety of situations.

This is a 5-star offering from a 5-star company. I do recommend this light for a wide array of uses.

it has a more concentrated beam that works for the kind of work I do, chimneys.

Good steps between the 3 brightness levels, and I like that there are only 3. Very strong, focused beam with high candela. Love that it’s a single tail switch and really like the UI. My only complaint lies with the switch itself. It’s a little soft and wish it had a more positive “click” when fully pressed. Not a deal breaker though, and still a great light overall!
