The Fenix LR50R Rechargeable Flashlight is the definition of a high-performance spotlight. Blasting a maximum 12000 lumens, this flashlight can throw that light an incredible 3117ft (950m)—that’s over half of a mile. The Fenix LR50R’s most unique feature is its intelligent downshifting sensor which recognizes when the flashlight’s head is too close to an object and will automatically downshift the brightness level to avoid accidents due to excessive heat. The included li-ion battery pack not only powers its eight lighting modes, but you can also use its discharge function to charge other devices. Perfect for situations where maximum brightness over long distances is a must, the Fenix LR50R Flashlight will light up the night.

Intelligent Brightness Downshifting Sensor
The flashlight has a built-in intelligent sensing circuit. When the light surface is close to the lighting object (about 60mm) for more than 1.5 seconds, the flashlight will automatically downshift the output level to Eco to avoid danger caused by high temperature. When the light surface is more than 0.8 seconds away from the lighting object, the flashlight automatically recalls the previously used output level.

*As objects of different materials and colors reflect differently to light, there will be slight deviations in the sensing distance.

Intelligent Protection
Time-limited downshift
With the light switched on, if Turbo is being selected for over 20 seconds, the light will downshift until to 8000 lumens within 60 seconds.

With the light switched on, if High II is being selected for over 60 seconds, the light will downshift until to 4000 lumens within 60 seconds.

Note: The abovementioned functions are specially designed for avoiding discomfort and danger caused by overheating.

Overheat Protection
The light will accumulate a lot of heat when used on High I, High II or Turbo output level for extended periods. When the light reaches a temperature of 60°C or above, the light will automatically step down a few lumens to reduce the temperature. When the temperature drops below 60°C, it will then allow the user for the reselection of those modes.

Low-voltage Warning
When the voltage level drops below the preset level, the flashlight is programmed to downshift to a lower brightness level until Eco output is reached. When this happens in Eco output mode, the battery level indicator blinks to remind you to timely recharge or replace the battery.

Note: This only works with the included Fenix ARB-L52-16000 battery pack.

Usage and Maintenance

  • Disassembling the sealed head can cause damage to the light and will void the warranty.
  • Fenix recommends using an excellent quality battery.
  • If the light will not be used for an extended period, remove the battery, or the light could be damaged by electrolyte leakage.
  • Lock the light or take out the battery to prevent accidental activation during storage or transportation. Recharge a stored battery every four months to maintain optimal battery performance.
  • Long-term use can result in O-ring wear. To maintain a proper water seal, replace the ring with an approved spare.
  • Periodic cleaning of the battery contacts improves the light’s performance as dirty contacts may cause the light to flicker, shine intermittently or even fail to illuminate for the following reasons:A: The battery needs replacing.
Solution: Replace battery (Ensure battery is inserted according to the manufacturer’s specifications).B: The threads, PCB board contact or other contacts are dirty.
Solution: Clean the contact points with a cotton swab soaked in rubbing alcohol. If the above methods don’t work, please contact your authorized distributor.

  • This flashlight is a high-intensity lighting device capable of causing eye damage to the user or others. Avoid shining the flashlight directly into anyone’s eyes.
  • This flashlight will accumulate a lot of heat when used for extended periods, resulting in high temperature of the flashlight shell. Pay attention to safe use to avoid scalding.

Using this in -20 to -30 F in MN and it works great. Use it at 3000 lumens for hours at a time and use 12000 spotlight for more on-demand light (using both buttons allows you to switch back and forth seamlessly).

Fenix makes lights that have a high level of output balanced with usable runtimes (Like turbo isn’t just 60 seconds like so many high output lights). 12000 lumens lasts quite a long time due to the fact it doesn’t overheat quickly in -30F. The 12000 lumen is actually usable for long durations but I bought this for its 3000-6000 range for a couple hours of use in the extremely low temperatures. With use at high and turbo I will burn the battery down to 1 or 2 lights after about an hour and 45 min (maybe more like two hours), but mind you that is also with the light in -20 to -30 F)

The QC 3 really helps out with the charge times.

Even though other brands boast a higher lumen output at times, this model is actually a product worth using and not just for a couple seconds of high output show.

Incredibly bright! The lockout feature is a must for transporting, as the light does get hot. Haven’t had a chance to test water resistance yet. Great overall light.

A beast of a light. A bit heavy and unwieldy. Been using regularly and haven’t made a dent in the battery level.

Excellent Light if you don’t have this one you’re missing out
I have many Hi-end flashlights, and what I found this is the most practical flashlight that I have come across. Having two switches for strobe and Turbo and then the other buttons run a different intensity makes it really nice. also, now using 21700 hundreds are perfect cells. If you are looking for a flashlight in all around general use flashlight, This flashlight is excellent; I highly recommended it. What other thing it is priced right for all the options it has makes it a very good buy. I have both LR40R and LR50R and having USB makes him a little more user friendly.
