This headlamp really packs a punch, in terms of size, brightness, & versatility. It is first and foremost a headlamp, but the light can be detached from the strap and used as a standalone right angle flashlight. It clips into a plastic bracket on the strap, and a stretchy rubber piece secures it even further. The angle of the light can be adjusted up and down by twisting the light body in the bracket. The turbo setting is overkill in some situations. It sports a removable forward facing strap clip, as well as a magnetic base. The magnetic base is much stronger than my E18R. The clip can rotate to position it in a variety of ways. Basically, it's a larger version of a combined LD15R (clip & magnet) & HM50R light (headlamp). It remembers the previous white color setting when turning it on, and has electronics to maintain a constant brightness while the battery is draining. This leads to slightly lower calculated run times (compared to other ~1000lm, 18560 battery lights), but I'm OK with this tradeoff. The magnetic charging is simple (but would like standardized to USB-C), and the battery level check is a simple 1 click of the power button The reflective strap is lightweight and has a firm stretch, so it grips well. I've run with it, and the top strap and rear rubber 3 way connector keeps the added weight of the headlamp planted on my head, and the adjustment doesn't drift. It does not have the silicone strip inside the strap that the M50BR has, but I don't think that matters. The beam is nice & even, because of the frosted lens. The red light setting is nice to have, and I could see myself using it as an extra tail light attached to my backpack during bike commuting (especially because of the red flash). Pros: Very bright. I normally use it on the 130lumen level when running, so I have plenty of extra light if I need it Clean and consistent beam Stable during vigorous activity Constant Brightness Uses the same 18560 batteries that my other lights use The clip stays on the light when it's mounted in the head strap, so it won't get lost Magnetic charging is very simple Cons: Not standardized to USB-C charging, but magnetic charging works well Heavier than my HM50R Lower runtimes due to the constant brightness

Fantastic light so far. I have owned the HP25 and on. I use them for working in the shop, running, mountain biking, camping/hiking. The HL60R was fantastic and it was my go-to headlamp since it came out. The HM65 I purchased for the shop since I didn't need the red light...which brings us to this. This is perfect. Pro's: - Magnetic charging isn't proprietary. - Great hotspot to flood combination (similar to the HL55 & HL60R). Basically you get light all over, and also some throw, with great transition between when working on things to reduce glare. - If you want micro usb charging, you can purchase their 3500mah 18650 with built in micro-usb (best of usb and magnetic charging). - White light has a low lumen mode. - RED light has a bright mode (1 and 5 lumen option). - Removable light with magnetic tail. I'm using mine primarily as a headlamp; however having that ability is fantastic for versatility. Also, the magnetic tail on their lights is a late, but welcome addition. Cons: - On the HM65R there was a silicone bead on the inside of the headband to add grip and channel sweat. This one doesn't have that feature.

Great Headlamp, the battery life is awesome, 2 to 5 days depending on how I use it. The turbo or highest setting is like turning on the Sun.

This headlamp is awesome! I like it even more than the HM65R for daily use. It’s more comfortable to wear and it has less buttons to fiddle with. Also changing the batteries is a breeze with the easy-off magnetized battery cap. It does go through batteries quickly on the highest setting but I rarely need to use that level of output. Add in the handheld convertible feature and you have a real winner.

This is a great head lamp unit! The pros: the flashlight easily pops out to become a handheld unit. The magnetic base is quite strong and will stick well to any metal based structures nearby. The charging is via a magnetic connection to the unit so you don’t have to remove the battery (but you could if you wanted to use an external charger). For the size, the white light gets quite bright! You can easily rotate the light up/down within the clip holders. The headband is quite comfortable and adjustable in both straps (even for my 7 7/8″ head, XXL). The red light is great at night and has two different powers (1 and 5 lumens which is perfect for night operations, in my case on boats), although it does distort the magenta color on boating charts so green might have been a better choice, but green doesn’t give as good acuity overall. The one con: the white light is the default color, so if you’re using this at night, and you want to go directly to the red light, you have to hold the “on” switch and the light cycles to white and then the red. This can be annoying for others around you to suddenly have a white light hit you (after hours in the dark) so you have to just put your hand over the lens to cover the white light till it changes to red (in a second or two). Some lights will default to their last setting so if you turn off the red light, it will come back on as red, but I haven’t figured out if this light has that feature. Not a big deal to work around it. Overall, quite happy with this unit.

Thanks for your comment – the light does have “Intelligent Memory Circuit” wherein it memorizes the last selected output, excluding red light mode unfortunately. When turned on again the previously used output of white light mode will be recalled. We have mentioned to the factory that it would be great to have them be able to go straight to red mode. If you aren’t already doing so, I would make sure the light is always on the lowest white light setting when you turn it off so that at least for that moment on the white it’s not super bright (ours at HQ was on Turbo when I was just double checking all the functionality – ouch).
