Battery Replacement

Low-voltage Warning
When the voltage level drops below the preset level, the flashlight is programmed to downshift to a lower brightness level until Low output is reached. To ensure normal use, the flashlight will not turn off automatically and will work till the battery runs out completely.
Usage and Maintenance of the E12 V2.0 AA Flashlight
- Disassembling the sealed head can cause damage to the light and will void the warranty.
- Fenix recommends using an excellent quality battery.
- If the light will not be used for an extended period, remove the battery, or the light could be damaged by electrolyte leakage or battery explosion.
- Unscrew the tail cap half a turn or take out the battery to prevent accidental activation during storage or transportation.
- Long-term use can result in O-ring wear. To maintain a proper water seal, replace the ring with an approved spare.
- Periodic cleaning of the battery contacts improves the lamp’s performance as dirty contacts may cause the lamp to flicker, shine intermittently or even fail to illuminate for the following reasons:
A: The battery needs replacing.
Solution: Replace battery (Ensure batteryis inserted according to the manufacturer’s specifications).
B: The threads, PCB board contact or other contacts are dirty.
Solution: Clean the contact points with a cotton swab soaked in rubbing alcohol.

I haven’t had it long enough to comment on battery life, but I love it otherwise. The hat clip is particularly handy. 3-4 years in my pocket will tell me more…
Samuel DePue (verified owner) –
Nice little light. What would make it perfect is if it had brightness memory and if the clip would be optimized that you can actually use it to its full depth for both pocket carry and on a hat.

I use my old fenix LD01 every day, all the time!
Every time I need extra light for bookcase, CD,s in corners, etc.
And whenever the lights go out- often, here in Panama!

Fantastic.

This is just what I was looking for, EDC flashlight that takes standard AA and can be used as a headlamp on the bill of your cap.
Eric S. (verified owner) –
Almost the size of chapstick. Great for EDC.
Sidney P. (verified owner) –
Nice flashlight for general utility.
James H. (verified owner) –
Kick ass flashlight!

The light is very compact and the three light level settings are useful. At its highest brightness level it produces a great deal of light for such a small package.
John (verified owner) –
THE BEST AA powered light I’ve owned! Smallest too!!

Great build quality and a fun little light. It’s very short in length—shortest of all my 1xAA lights. Bi-directional clip is a handy feature for those who might clip it to their cap on occasion. The beam is beautiful, fairly cool in tint but not at all “blue” or harsh in any way. Hotspot is large. Button is crisp and easy to use. No memory could be a negative for some, but I kind of like the predictability of always coming on in low.
Downsides are I wish the mid level (30 lumens) were a bit higher (45-65 lumens) so as to light up the path a little better; and throw on high is a little less than a couple of other 1xAA lights I have.
But all-in-all, a very high quality, solid, and clever little light that’s quite enjoyable to use.

Good brightness out of a small light. Broad range of uses and feels good in hand.

Dependable flashlights well made.

OK, so I bought three lights, it was a sale, alright?!? How many of you have just ONE flashlight? I think of this as being a Goldilocks size, not too big, not too small, perfect EDC and it runs off one AA battery.

Nice edc

very nice
Robert Y. (verified owner) –
Great little light, barely bigger than the battery but has a great, even output, perfect for an everyday carry light.
Duane B. (verified owner) –
Light too small to manipulate comfortably
David B. (verified owner) –
Great value for EDC, plenty of output for most situations. A nice, compact, AA powered light.
Mariah (verified owner) –
What an upgrade to the original! More compact, pocket clip, and eye-catching details. Love it!

This will be used in a couple of applications.
As an Every Day Carry (EDC) the small size and weight is a big plus. Also the first press of the tail switch turning on the lowest power is for me the correct choice. I used it every day to move about the house without turning on the AC mains powered lights.
As a Go-Bag light it takes the Energizer L91 Lithium AA which as a 20 year shelf life. Also the electronics are very efficient allowing the light to start from a battery that I took out of a Roku IR remote because it was dead. See: https://youtu.be/xvJU3Qb7C3I
