nice
Use this light to change irrigation water at night on our farm. I wear glasses and the light beam does not get reflected off lenses like some headlamps I've used.
I bought this single AA powered headlamp to provide longer run-time than the single AAA headlamps I own, and now I can work most of a day without having to change batteries. The color of the LED is too cool for my taste. It is not cool white, but close to it. I do not like having the initial brightness set to maximum, which this headlamp is programmed to do. I could live with that if the headlamp had a memory, but it does not. Maybe in a future life, Fenix will listen to customers and provide them what they are looking for in flashlights/headlamps. There are plenty of other brands to choose from.
Very pleased with this headlamp. The one AA battery is the real winner. Gives me enough light when I'm in low light conditions. No memory settings on last light mode but it's no big deal since cycling through the brightness only takes a quick second.
All in all awesome little headlamp.
Great no frills rock solid dependable light, I am very happy
I use the HL23 for general around-the-farm chores, hiking, hunting, and as my son's primary caving light. Size, form factor, and controls are fantastic. Pretty much perfect, IMHO. I just wish it started on "low" instead of "high"!
