*It is recommended to use a 1.5V alkaline battery. The headlamp is compatible with either a Fenix ARB-L14-U series rechargeable battery or a Ni-MH battery with a voltage of 2.0V or lower. Using a battery with a voltage exceeding 2V will cause damage to the headlamp.
Battery Replacement
Unscrew the battery cap and insert the battery with the anode side (+) towards the inner side, then screw the battery cap back on.
Low-voltage Warning
When the voltage level drops below the preset level, the headlamp is programmed to downshift to a lower brightness level until the lowest output is reached. When this happens in the lowest output, the lamp blinks 3 times every 5 minutes to remind users to replace the battery.
Headband Assembly
The headband is factory assembled by default.
Adjust the headband by sliding the buckle to the required length.
Usage and Maintenance
- Disassembling the sealed head can cause damage to the lamp and will void the warranty.
- Fenix recommends using an excellent quality battery.
- If the lamp will not be used for an extended period, remove the battery, or the lamp could be damaged by electrolyte leakage.
- Lock the lamp or take out the battery to prevent accidental activation during storage or transportation.
- Periodic cleaning of the battery contacts improves the lamp's performance as dirty contacts may cause the lamp to flicker, shine intermittently or even fail to illuminate for the following reasons:
A: The lamp is locked.
Solution: Press and hold the switch for 3 seconds to unlock the lamp.
B: Poor battery level.
Solution: Replace the battery (Ensure the battery is inserted according to the manufacturer’s specifications).
C: The threads, PCB board contact or other contacts are dirty.
Solution: Clean the contact points with a cotton swab soaked in rubbing alcohol.
If the above methods don't work, please contact the distributor.
