Product Overview

The Fenix HP12R-T is a performance-driven headlamp engineered for better balance during high-demand use. Delivering up to 1300 lumens with a maximum beam distance of 656 feet (200 meters), this headlamp is lightweight enough for jogging but was also built to meet the challenges of outdoor and professional use.

What sets the HP12R-T apart is the placement of the battery on the back of the head strap, rather than the front. This placement trades a front-heavy feel for a more balanced, comfortable fit. It also allows for a built-in rear-facing red flashing light—an added safety feature for better visibility on the road or at the jobsite. Plus, its powerful 4000mAh provides longer runtimes and is USB-C rechargeable.

In addition to independently controlled white and neutral white lighting levels, the HP12R-T includes red constant and red flashing modes. This headlamp is also durable enough for whatever you throw at it, with its IP66 weatherproof rating and impact resistance up to 2 meters. Whether you’re hiking remote trails, jogging after sunset, or working in low-light environments, the Fenix HP12R-T delivers comfort, control, and uncompromising performance.

Caution*

!

*18650 Li-ion batteries are powerful cells designed for commercial applications and must be treated with caution and handled with care. Using low-quality batteries or mishandling batteries (such as short-circuiting or overheating) could lead to combustion and jeopardize the safety of users and property. Any adverse effects resulting from the use of low-quality batteries are not covered by any Fenix warranty or liability. Using quality batteries with circuit protection will reduce the potential for combustion or explosion. It is recommended to use a Fenix ARB-L18 Series battery.

  2. When charging, the LED indicators will flash from bottom to top to display the charging status. The four indicators will be constant-on after charging is completed.
  3. With the lamp switched off, the normal charging time of the Fenix ARB-L18-4000 battery is about 3.5 hours from depleted to fully charged with a 5 V/2.5 A or above charging adapter.

Intelligent Overheat Protection

The lamp will accumulate a lot of heat when used at high output levels for extended periods. When the lamp reaches a temperature of 60°C/140°F or above, it will automatically step down a few lumens to reduce the temperature. When the temperature drops below 60°C/140°F, the lamp will gradually recall the preset output level.

Low-voltage Warning

When the voltage level drops below the preset level, the lamp is programmed to downshift to a lower brightness level until the lowest output of the currently selected mode is reached. When the white light and the neutral white light are turned on at the same time, the lamp will automatically turn off the neutral white light and keep the Low output of the white light on. However, if the neutral white light is turned on alone, the lamp will automatically turn off the neutral white light and turn on the Low output of the white light. When the voltage level is still too low in the lowest output of the currently selected mode, the headlamp blinks 3 times every 5 minutes on the Low output of the white light to remind users to replace or recharge the battery in a timely manner.

Headband Assembly

Notice: The headband is factory assembled and ready to use right out of the package.

Adjust the headband by sliding the buckle to the required length.

Usage and Maintenance

  • Disassembling the sealed head can cause damage to the lamp and will void the warranty.
  • Fenix recommends using an excellent quality battery.
  • If the lamp will not be used for an extended period, remove the battery, or the lamp could be damaged by electrolyte leakage.
  • Lock the lamp or take out the battery to prevent accidental activation during storage or transportation.
  • Long-term use can result in O-ring wear. To maintain a proper water seal, replace the ring with an approved spare.
  • Recharge a stored lamp every four months to maintain the optimum performance of the battery.
