18650 rechargeable batteries are high-capacity batteries used in lighting products. The 18650 battery is a great alternative for products that utilize 2xCR123A disposable batteries. Not only are you being environmentally friendly by eliminating disposable batteries, but the 18650 battery also provides different levels of capacity for your exact need and is rechargeable. For example, you can get 30% more capacity out of a ARB-L18-3500 compared to a ARB-L18-2600. In addition, Fenix batteries are built with safety in mind. There are built in features to prevent short circuits, design multiple layers of protection and the new button-top design.
The high capacity 18650 Li-ion rechargeable batteries each provide protection circuits in the anode to help prevent short circuits, over charge/discharge and over heating. Each 18650 battery also includes pressure relief vents which expel waste gas in the rare case of an internal short circuit preventing an explosion. Fenix’s 18650 batteries have a guaranteed lifespan of 500 charge cycles. This means that the battery will recharge to at least 75% of its original battery capacity 500 times over. Compared to single-use batteries, rechargeable batteries are both cost-efficient and more useful for the consumer, offering extended runtimes and capacity on a single charge. Not only that, they are also beneficial to the environment by limiting the amount of single-use products and discarded chemicals. "Customer Service recommended the 18650 batteries for the TK20R flashlight. The batteries with the U suffix are a little too long for the flashlight to seal properly. ARB-L18-4000: Fits correctly ARB-L18-4000U is approximately 2. 8mm longer, because you can charge the battery directly (outside the flashlight) with a USB-C cable."

"I purchased a few Fenix flashlights several years ago. They have worked great. Unfortunately when I recently bought a replacement battery (18650) it was not of the same quality. It only holds a charge for a few days, and is barely useful. I don't know if I got a "dud" or if they are all like this now. Bummer."
