Fully press
Fully press the tactical switch to constantly turn on the light, press once again to turn off the light.

With the light switched on, single click the functional switch to cycle through Eco→Low→Med→High→Turbo.

With the light switched on, press and hold the functional switch for 0.5 seconds to enter strobe, click once again to return back to General mode.

Boot-up Battery Level Indication
Each time the light is turned on, the battery level indicator will automatically display the battery status for 3 seconds.
Green constant on: saturated
Green flashes: sufficient
Red constant on: poor
Red flashes: critical
Note: This only works on rechargeable LI-ion 18650 battery.

Battery Replacement
Unscrew the tail cap to insert the battery with the anode side (+) towards the light head, then screw the tail cap back on.

Low-voltage Warning
When the voltage level drops below 3V, the flashlight is programmed to downshift to a lower brightness level until Eco output is reached. When this happens in Eco output mode, the battery level indicator will display red and the flashlight blinks every three seconds to remind you to replace the battery. To ensure normal use, the flashlight will work until the battery runs out or

Intelligent Protection
The light will accumulate a lot of heat when it is working at Turbo mode. When the light is overheated up to 65°C or above, the flashlight will automatically step down a few lumens to reduce the temperature; when the temperature is lower than 65°C, the output will gradually return to Turbo output level.

Usage and Maintenance

  • Disassembling the sealed head can cause damage to the light and will void the warranty.
  • Fenix recommends using an excellent quality battery.
  • If the light will not be used for an extended period, remove the battery, or the light could be damaged by electrolyte leakage or battery explosion.
  • Unscrew the tail cap half a turn or take out the battery to prevent accidental activation during storage or transportation.
  • Long-term use can result in O-ring wear. To maintain a proper water seal, replace the ring with an approved spare.
  • Periodic cleaning of the battery contacts improves the lamp’s performance as dirty contacts may cause the lamp to flicker, shine intermittently or even fail to illuminate for the following reasons:
    • A: The battery needs replacing.
Solution: Replace battery (Ensure battery is inserted according to the manufacturer’s specifications).
    • B: The threads, PCB board contact or other contacts are dirty.
Solution: Clean the contact points with a cotton swab soaked in rubbing alcohol.

If the above methods don’t work, please contact your authorized distributor.

This flashlight is a high-intensity lighting device capable of causing eye damage to the user or others. Avoid shining the flashlight directly into anyone’s eyes.

I had originally purchased from a third party. I ended up returning the purchase due to the flashlight not working. I decided to check Fenix direct and placed the order. Needless to write the flishlight works. Well built and not bulky.

I had every day carried my original PD35 for 5 years before it finally gave up, after I dropped it this one last time, these are phenomenal lights.
First thing I did is came back to order another Fenix, I went with the UC35 this time for its usb charging capability.
I suspect that it will be every bit as good, if not better than my old light.
My only issue is the holster could be designed a bit better, it tends to let the flashlight fall out after it has some age on it.
That being said, I will never carry another brand of light, so long as I can still buy one from Fenix.

The PD 35 is one of my MANY Fenix flashlights. It is great for EDC, or what ever else you might need it for. Also a great size for a pack or glove compartment. Beware, Fenix flaslights can be adddictive. I have tried other brands in the past and I have not found another brand that I like as well, at any price.

This is a nice flashlight; But I have not been able to get any response from this company concerning the life time warranty. I was in an extreme situation and broke the lenses. I am still hoping this review will get me some response by Fenix to repair my flashlight. I would also like to know if it is possible to upgrade my existing flashlight head to the newer multi color head (clear, red, and green).

You cannot purchase just a PD35 V2 to fit on an older PD35 flashlight replacement. We also don’t make a PD35 with the color options you discussed. But you can email the warranty department here for repairs:

PD 35UE is awesome. This new version, not so much—going by the specs. This seems to be more of a marketing change than an upgrade.

It gets 40 extra lumen on Turbo which will be imperceptible, but loses 200 lumens on High, which is a lot! That’s almost 40%!

So Fenix can claim “1000 Lumens” but has made the flashlight less usable. Do you think you’re likely to need 1000 lm more often than the 550 lm on high? Especially when Turbo is time and temp limited?

It’s too bad Fenix is becoming more concerned about marketing than the usability of their flashlights. I hope this is not the start of a trend.

    Hello, Fenix Flashlights,
I purchased a PD-35 from XXXX about 10 months ago. Somehow the main blub has burned out. Is this normal for a flashlight that I hardly used? If it is, and I decide to stick with my Fenix flashlight, where do I replace my PD-35’s blub assembly? When my light worked I was very pleased with its performance. Not sure what went wrong with my PD-35.

I have been using this flashlight since 2013- it is my constant companion, in fact I don’t leave home without it. I lost it once outside in the mud and found it a month later after driving over it with my tractor. I picked it up, tuned it on and it still worked like a champ. This is the finest flashlight I have ever owned. I cannot offer higher praise. Fenix, you guys rock!

I use this thing every day. It’s in my pocket at work, at home, in the woods, on my bicycle… Starting to see a trend? Get the charger and rechargeable battery, and you won’t be sorry.

I’ve since bought two smaller Fenix lights for my son, and when this eventually dies, I’ll get another of the same model.

It’s just a great flashlight – get it, and you won’t be sorry!

My father-in-law bought the PD35 for me for my birthday this month. I thought how nice and thoughtful until I turned it on. Then I thought HOLY CRAP I didn’t know you could make a flashlight this small and this powerful. It is on par with a spot light up to about 400 feet and I use it on my property all the time just to see the wild critters. I would highly recommend this flashlight.

As a police officer (UK) I would say this is easily the best torch I have used over the years, and I have used many from various brands. It is very versatile – Good range (highest mode suitable for searching wide open areas) but also floody enough for close up work. Easy to use tail button is also essential for quick deployment (especially when wearing gloves). Love it, and it would take something pretty special to replace it on my tac-vest (that said, I never stop looking!).

I’ve been using the Fenix PD-35 (960 Lumen version) for a little over 2 years now. I must say, this has been the best all around performing flashlight that I own and it’s now part of my every day carry.
I use this light for everything, whether its camping, hiking or walking the dog at night.

The bright beam pattern projects a good distance, while offering very usable up-close spill. Its also bright enough to disorient any would be attackers or stray dog in the area, which I’ve had to use on more than one occasion.

I personally love the 5 different brightness modes to choose from. For only using one 18650, the battery life on the Fenix PD35 is just amazing!
Hopefully one day soon, I’ll be able to test out and own the TK35 and TK47, both I believe are going to be home runs in my book.

I love this light. It changed the way I look at flashlights. I carried it everywhere. The only usage issue I had was the mode button was very hard to locate without looking at it. I added a blob of nail polish next to it to give my fingers something to feel and that helped. Unfortunately the rubber mode button ripped after a few months of contact with my jeans pocket. I wrapped gorilla tape around it and used it daily for another year and then one day the light just quit. No idea what went wrong and it was out of warranty. I should have returned it as soon as the boot ripped.
I’m buying another one for my wife to carry. She will be easier on it than me, and I’m upgrading to the tactical model with the metal mode button.

Excellent flashlight but could be slightly improved. Mode button on side is a bit difficult to locate and should be more tactilely prominent. I wish it were focusable.

I have four Fenix lights. PD35 was my third. I have had it for two years. The light is awesome and way less expensive than other lights I have purchased. It has never failed. The only issue, and this is not a Fenix issue, is that some of the 18650 cells that have circuit protection will blink and then shutdown in the turbo mode. The light apparently pulls too much from the battery and it shuts down. I solved the problem by buying higher quality 18650 cells.

I have three Fenix lights now and I will only by lights from them. I am not a police officer or military but I am tool guy and and a gun guy, both of which I train with weekly. I only buy products that I use to defend my life or make my life easier that are quality and that work. The Fenix lights I have bought have been dropped thrown around put into every car bag and pocket I have and they have always worked. They are in my opinion well made, affordable bright well thought out tools. Thanks Fenix.

We were bow fishing last July 4th weekend and I left the flashlight in the small leaky John boat tied off to shore after the night hunt. Next day, I found it completely submerged in a foot of water. Hit the button and on came the light. I’ve dropped it, used it to knock weld splatter off during inspections and basically abused the crap out of it. It never missed a beat in 3 years . Really good flashlight.

The Fenix PD35 is hands down the best flashlight I ave ever owned. It has five brightness levels, the lowest is great for night ops, it emits just enough light to clearly see maps or other items. The brightest level is intense, I’ve had reflectors two miles away flash when pointed at them. As a testament to the intensity of the PD35, the light actually kept my hand warm in the -30F Minnesota winter. It also has a Dazzle strobe feature. Works great for dissuading those drivers that tailgate, every time I’ve used it for that they’ve backed off my 6 o’clock straight away.
The quality is impeccable, it is manufactured from aircraft grade aluminum billet Quite the robust unit, takes a lot of abuse and never has missed a beat. The 18650 Li-Ion battery lasts FOREVER. My grandson turned it on and I found it over 24 hours later, and it was still shining.
Well done Fenix, someone FINALLY manufactured a versatile flashlight that is well worth the price.

This is my second fenix light. I am in pest control and this light is used daily for inspections. It must be turned on/off a hundred times a day. Still keeps on working. Been dropped several times, gone down a flight of concrete steps, still works with no problems. On medium I can go 4 days on one 18650 battery (3400). More than enough light to do just about whatever you need. I have owned this light since June 2015, and it feels like I will get many years of service out of it. Only negative I can think of is the Velcro on the belt pouch wears out.

Great flashlight so good i bought a second one. Only minor issue is fitting Panasonic 18650 protected cell, due to the cells length it can take abit of jiggling to fit the battery so the light does not come on or switch on by it’s self when knocked.

Brilliant piece of new technology! All lower brightness levels are useful. For example, the 10 lumen ‘Eco’ mode is bright enough to illuminate an area of close-up work without overwhelming one’s eyes, nor those of someone else. (I use it when checking my dog’s ears and such — I’ve got plenty of illumination, and he’ll be fine if the light hits his eyes directly.) Then walking him on my dark country street is handled by ‘Low’ and ‘Medium.’ A strange animal’s sound is investigated in ‘High’ or ‘Turbo’ out to four or five hundred feet, and a quick flash of ‘Strobe Mode’ reminds the occasional inconsiderate driver that he needs to dim his brights for pedestrians too. All this utility is in a single, tiny package!

I agree with Jim.. great flashlight! It is my forth fenix light and is much brighter then my pd30, tk11 and tk21. But the case they give you lacks the d ring and wider belt loop… and what I liked with old cases on all my other fenix lights. Is the extra velcro strap to add to molly attachments on my other gear.
Other then splitting hairs on case design… its worth the money and size to lumen ratio is incredible. You won’t be disappointed!
P.S. if case drives you nuts.. maxpedition makes nice flaslight cases.

I have many many tactical and EDC flashlghts, some just ok, other pretty damn good but this is like the HOLy GRAIL of hand held flashlghts or may be not cause Fenix just keeps making them better and better.

Simply extraordinary. The very large hot spot and side spill make this flashlight useful. A good range of modes. Very, very bright output using just CR123 batteries. Sold feel and good construction make this flashlight perfect for almost any task.

I bought this light as a pie e of research for a novel. There are “operators” in the book and I wanted a bad ass flashlight, so I bought a few to compare. I want my guys carrying the PD35!

    Great work guys!

I got my PD35 yesterday. What a great and powerful light. This will be my primary duty light. I would highly recommend this light to anyone who works nights! It cuts through tinted windows! the only con I have is that the case that’s included, needs to fit a 21/4 duty belt.
