Usage and Maintenance

  • Disassembling the sealed adjustable angle flashlight head can cause damage to the light and will void the warranty.
  • Fenix recommends using an excellent quality AA battery.
  • If the light will not be used for an extended period, remove the battery, or the light could be damaged by electrolyte leakage or battery explosion.
  • Long-term use can result in O-ring wear. To maintain a proper water seal, replace the ring with an approved spare.
  • Periodic cleaning of the battery contacts improves the lamp’s performance as dirty contacts may cause the lamp to flicker, shine intermittently or even fail to illuminate for the following reasons:
    A: The battery needs replacing.
Solution: Replace battery pack /battery (Ensure battery is inserted according to the manufacturer’s specifications).
B: The threads, PCB board contact or other contacts are dirty.
Solution: Clean the contact points with a cotton swab soaked in rubbing alcohol.

If the above methods don’t work, please contact your authorized distributor.

I was a little disappointed in the flashlight

Great light. Very versatile and handy. Covers a broad area and battery lasts well.

I’m a mobile bike mechanic and sometimes work long into the night. Just bought mine in an impulse. Fantastic little light. Used it in a closed garage today to avoid the 120 heat with humidity today. I stuck it onto a metal shelf, angled it to the bike Imon the work stand. It was very handy. I’m about to buy one more so that I can have one on each side of the work stand. Battery life is great too.

First of all… I LOVE Fenix lights!!! This one is great, just like the other Fenix ones I have. The only two things I don’t really like are:

    1. It is WAAAYYYYY to easy to switch between the flood and spot lights. The ability to cycle through brightness is great, but doing it slowly, in order not to switch lights, is counter intuitive. The other Fenix lights I have can be cycled quickly to get to the brightness I want, but not this one. When I need to change the brightness, I don’t want to wait around to “hit it right”. There needs to be another way to switch lights… like maybe the other side of the light where the round piece is, opposite the switch.

    2. I don’t like that I need to take the battery out in order to charge it… I don’t know why you made it this way, but I like the concept of using a magnet switch or a micro USB port on the side of the light.

Other than that… I LOVE this light as well!

I just wish it had an external charging port, other than that it’s fantastic

  6. Landen

    good brand

  7. chris williamson (verified owner)

Well made and very versatile. I use it in a walk in pantry that has poor lighting and this flashlight is spot on (pun intended). The magnet is very strong and makes for convenient storage and access.

My only concern is, I wish there was an option where both lights worked at the same time giving the WT20R light even more brightness options. That said 400 lumens is more than sufficient. Fenix is always a pleasure to deal with and their customer service is quick and first class – seriously these guys/gals makes a difference.

  8. Mark (verified owner)

This is a great flashlight. I just wish it had an external USB-C socket for recharging and a stronger magnet on the base.

  9. Ken (verified owner)

Works very good. The magnet is plenty strong. The battery level indicator is great. You need to implement that tech into your other flashlights. I have two now. Highly recommend.

  10. Robert Gray (verified owner)

I like this light,it is a little bigger than I thought it was going to be. But I like the two different beams.

I like this light, and it’s my new EDC. Replaces a E35UE and a now lost LD15R. The adjustable head is great – I clip it to my backpack sternum strap and point it down and ahead, very nice. The flood light is really good – bright and even.

My comments for version 2: the spot light is not as useful as a second flood would be, and I’d love to be able to turn them both on at once – two switches, one on either side? I bet there’s a heat issue with only the small metal head for dissipation, so maybe all metal or some other heat sink design. The lanyard attachment point is badly in the way – it needs to be at the end somewhere. I’d love to be able to charge without taking the battery out, and I’d love to be able to use it as a power bank too. That is my version of the Homer Simpson-designed car – no microwave.

  13. Edgar (verified owner)

I love it, it’s just beautiful, the square shape it’s my favorite, the futures are unique, the belt clip it’s strong and keep it tight in my pants, I used it for work, hiking, camping and fishing and is one of my EDC.

  14. Donald R. (verified owner)

Nice light except belt clip is almost useless, might fit a dress belt but not so much for even a light weight work belt.

  15. James (verified owner)

One of the best and most versatile flashlights I have ever used.

  16. Devon H. (verified owner)

I’m a huge fan of Fenix flashlights and this one is no exception. I’ve only had it a few weeks and it’s been handy enough times that I already consider it indispensable.

  17. C M (verified owner)

Great light, a little apprehensive about the proprietary battery, but there is the AA option.

  18. Thomas Piteo (verified owner)

Great lite with excellent features. The only way to improve it would be to add RGB options.

  19. Michael P. (verified owner)

Before I placed my order, I contacted sales support online and asked what the body was made from. I was told the complete unit was made from machined aluminum. Well, it’s not. The head unit is but the larger bottom section is not. It’s a high-grade plastic. Time will tell if it last as long as my other Fenix units.

  20. Keith D. (verified owner)

Good light no issues at this point
