Unlock: When the light is off and locked, double-click the side switch in 0.5 seconds, the light will be unlocked and power on the last-used output level.
Note: In locked state, the light only responds unlocking operation, press the side switch, the light will blink twice to remind the light is under locked state.
Intelligent Memory Circuit
The flashlight memorizes the last brightness level used in the General mode, the next time it is turned on, it will recall that previously used General brightness level.
Over-heat Protection
The flashlight will accumulate a lot of heat when it is working at Turbo brightness level. When it works at Turbo for 5 minutes, the flashlight will automatically downshift to High output to prevent the light from overheating. If the Turbo output is needed, please reset it again. The flashlight could be damaged or the normal service life could be shortened because of continuous use like this.
Low-voltage Warning Function
When the voltage level drops below the preset level, the flashlight is programmed to downshift to a lower brightness level. When this happens in Low output mode, the flashlight blinks three times every five minutes to remind you to charge the light or replace the battery. To ensure normal use, the flashlight will not turn off automatically and will work until the over-discharge function stops the battery from working.
Note: This only works on 16340 rechargeable Li-ion battery. When the voltage of 16340 battery is detected lower than 3V, low-voltage warning function will fail if the flashlight is turned on again.
Magnetic Suction Charging
Connect the USB AM port of the charging cable to the power source, the indicator light will turn green. Then draw the magnetic end of the charging cable close to the flashlight, the charging cable will attach to the charging port automatically and the charging has begun. The indicator light will flash green in charging process. The indicator light turns solid green when charging completely done. The normal charging time is about 1.5 hours.
Note:
- RC09 only charges normal on 16340 rechargeable battery. Fenix ARB-L16-700 battery with protective circuit is recommended.
- Charging with the light on is not recommended, doing so may cause extended charging time or less fully charged battery. If emergency lighting is needed, the flashlight is only available at Mid output level when it is charging.

Another great light from Fenix! The lumen output is incredible for such a small light. As with all Fenix lights, the durability and battery life is top notch. The only downside is that when the light down shifts from “turbo” to a lower lumen output (to avoid overheating) it will not let you go back to “turbo” no matter how long the light has cooled off. The only way to reset the light is to unscrew the battery holding and then screw it back together. Other than that, it is yet another amazing product from Fenix.

I purchased the RC09 about 9 months ago and it has been my most used light since. Here are my observations:
Pros:
The small size makes it very easy to carry in my pocket
Light output is very good and the brightness modes seem to be spaced about right
The magnetic base is very useful, I use this feature more than anticipated. It’s great when working on cars, etc. I even use the magnet so I can trick the washing machine sensor and open the lid while it’s agitating. Who knows what other uses I will find for it!
The small size and reversible clip make it great for clipping to a ball cap to double as a head lamp
Flat base for standing on end
The magnetic charging adapter is more convenient than plugging in a USB connector
Cons:
The small On/Off/Mode button is difficult to locate without looking. Obviously this is a problem if you are in the dark! Others have mentioned this issue on other lights that use the same small button. The larger rubber button on the UC30 for example is much better. A better on/off button would up my rating from 4 to 5 stars.

Received my RC09 for Christmas. Love the size and output, amazing. Sometimes it acts like it’s low on battery even though it was just charged. I just unscrew it for a second so the battery is disconnected and put it back together then it’s fine. Minor inconvenience. Love the features, magnetic base, clips on the brim of your hat for work in unlit places and on your belt for carry. I’d give it a 5 star if not for the described problem!

Arrived today. Pleased with size and output. May end up being my edc light. Love the magnetic base. Very bright for the size. Have a few Fenix lights and they out perform every other light I own!
