Rechargeable battery (Li-ion)21700 *3.6VCaution!

Warning: *21700 Li-ion batteries are powerful cells designed for commercial applications and must be treated with caution and handled with care. Only use quality batteries with circuit protection will reduce the potential for combustion or explosion; but cell damage or short circuiting are potential risks the user assumes.

Battery Replacement

Unscrew the tail cap to insert the battery with the anode side (+) towards the light head, then screw the tail cap back on.

Intelligent Overheat Protection

The light will accumulate a lot of heat when used on higher output levels for extended periods. When the light reaches a temperature of 60°C or above, the light will automatically step down a few lumens to reduce the temperature. When the temperature drops below 60°C, it will then allow the user for the reselection of higher modes.

Low-voltage Warning

When the voltage level drops below the preset level, the flashlight is programmed to downshift to a lower brightness level until Eco output is reached. When this happens in Eco output, the light blinks 3 times every 5 minutes to remind you to recharge or replace the battery.

Note: This only works with Fenix ARB-L21 Series 21700 rechargeable Li-ion battery.

Usage and Maintenance of the PD36TAC

  • Disassembling the sealed head can cause damage to the light and will void the warranty.
  • Fenix recommends using an excellent quality battery.
  • If the light will not be used for an extended period, remove the battery, or the light could be damaged by electrolyte leakage or battery explosion.
  • Lock the light or remove the battery to prevent accidental activation during storage or transportation.
  • Long-term use can result in O-ring wear. To maintain a proper water seal, replace the ring with an approved spare.
  • Periodic cleaning of the battery contacts improves the lamp's performance as dirty contacts may cause the lamp to flicker, shine intermittently or even fail to illuminate for the following reasons:
    A: The battery needs replacing.
Solution: Replace battery pack /battery (Ensure battery is inserted according to the manufacturer’s specifications).
B: The contact or contact point of the battery or flashlight is dirty.
Solution: Clean the contact points with a cotton swab soaked in rubbing alcohol.

If the above methods don't work, please contact your authorized distributor.

Made for professional use, security and law enforcement, the PD36 TAC is truly countable to deliver reliable, powerful lighting for a wide range of situations.

Q2. What are the key features and benefits of PD36 TAC?

A:  1. Tactical and Duty modes for flexibly needed choice and operation.

    2. Patented dual-function tactical switch for instantly tactical activation.

3. Single-handed toggle switch for mode selection.

4. Lockout function avoids accidental activation.

Q3. What kind of LED is used in PD36 TAC? And what are the beam angles?

A: A Luminus SST70 LED with a lifespan of 50,000 hours.

Beam angles: spot beam angle 16°, spill beam angle 81°.

Q4. Does PD36 TAC have overheated protection?

A: Yes. The light will accumulate a lot of heat when used on higher output levels for extended periods. When the light reaches a temperature of 60°C or above, the light will automatically step down a few lumens to reduce the temperature. When the temperature drops below 60°C, it will then allow the user for the reselection of higher modes.

Q5. What battery does the PD36 TAC support?

A: It supports one rechargeable 21700 Li-ion battery.

Q6. What are the optional accessories for PD36 TAC?

A: ALG-00 rail mount, ALG-18 rail mount, AER-05 remote pressure switch, AOD-S V2.0 diffuser tip, ALP-10S flashlight holster, and more.

Q7. What is the APF?

A: The APF (Advanced Pulse-frequency Transmission System) was developed by Fenix Laboratory for producing better flashlights. It has abandoned the traditional development way, breaking through the technology bottleneck, allowing flashlight with a tail switch to achieve a higher level of performance:

1. Higher output: the APF system has made higher lumens from a forward switch possible, it breaks the limitation of current.

2. Simpler multi-functional tail switch: this APF technology can transmit various signal commands through a single layer within the light body. Traditional signal transmission requires a multi-layer system. Thanks to this new single-layer system, the light size can be greatly reduced and the structure will be more compact.

3. Better anti-interference performance: the APF system combats signal interference, but it doesn't work if it is applied to a magnetic switch. Therefore, the PD36 TAC will be less prone to interference based on the use of a mechanical switch.

Q8. What should I do if the PD36 TAC needs repair?

A: 1. 15-day replacement: Fenix will replace identical or equal products with documented manufacturing defects within 15 days of purchase.

2. 2-year free repair: Fenix will repair a light free of charge within 2 years of purchase if problems develop with normal use.

3. Lifetime maintenance: If repair is required after 2 years from the date of purchase, Fenix will charge for parts. The total repair fee is dictated by the cost of the replaced materials.

Great weapon light

Bought the light, with the tail cap adapter. Run this in my duty rifle. Killer set up, packs a big punch. The guys on patrol all want one!

Great light

PD 36TAC. Seems to be another great Fenix product. The tail switch takes some muscle memory training to get used to. Light output is great for my needs. Great EDC for me. The light does get quite warm on higher settings. The one thing that would make it better would be the feel of the rotary wheel selector on the tail cap. Seems like it needs some kind of grease to make it operate smoother.

Worth the money

Arrived at the time promised. I can't think of another light that could surpass the fenix at this price point. Nothing is found lacking and I would buy it again

Great Flashlight

This has been a great flashlight. It holds a good charge and is extremely bright, especially for its size. It does get hot if it is too bright for too long, but other than that it is amazing.

Fell short of my expectations

This light doesn't even come close to being as good as my PD35 Tactical. The button to turn it on and off is horrible and the strobe feature doesn't work in tactical mode or in either mode for for that matter.

Hi Darin - I don't see that you have contacted warranty for help trouble shooting the strobe issue on this light. You can reach out to them at:

Fantastic Light!

This flashlight is wicked bright. I didn't realize how bright it was from videos until it was in my hands. Even on the lowest setting it will light up a room. I'm very happy with my decision for a new EDC flashlight. Alaska is dark a big part of the year and having light is very handy.
