The need for better UI is real for light this bright and hot. In order to go to lower level of brightness, one would have to cycle through all levels before coming back down. Light is so bright that it can be blinding and hot. I thought of a solution by pointing it toward my body while cycling through the levels, but it ended up burning my favorite jacket within seconds as can be seen in the attached image. One other issue is it is too easy to unlock with double clicking. I was lucky this time that the flash light didn’t burn down my backpack or the house. After carefully locking the flashlight and put it in my stuffed backpack, I smelled something burning and found the source was from my backpack. As I opened it, the flashlight was on strobe mode. I have experience this same thing with the Fenix keychain light. I often find it on when taken out of my pocket, even though I always make a conscious effort to lock it. With all the choices of flashlight these days, I think Fenix should seriously rethink the UI before they are left in the dust.

This light is one of my favorites. Love that you can carry the power of the sun in hand at a moments notice. 10,000 lumens people! I use this light at work as I work graveyard shift as a lineman. It is one of my most go to tools. Love the user interface and the strobe feature comes in handy with the alternating pattern on the strobe. Does get hot on Turbo, but it’s not meant to run on turbo full time. I run it at the level 4. Those luminous SST-40’s are no joke. I daily carry this light in my front pocket. No joke, it works fine. Ergonomically the light is awesome and just the right amount of purchase for a good grip. Love the recessed on/off button as this thing has not turned on accidentally in my pocket. Fenix this is a tried and true design. Love the Dual 21700’s as well. Thanks again!

What a powerhouse! I was in love with my TK35 and thought it was the greatest thing ever, then the TK35UE came along, and that was the greatest ever. I've tried many other flashlights, but I've always appreciated the dual-battery, compact size of the TK35. Now the LR35R comes along with a much more powerful output in a significantly smaller package, and we have a winner. The USB-C external charging port is great, I love that I don't have to take the flashlight apart and remove the batteries to charge them. The power button is located on the side of the unit, which is not my preference. It's much faster and more intuitive to be able to find an on/off button that located on the tailpiece, so I'm a bit disappointed in that. Like all Fenix flashlights, it's built like a tank. It’s significantly shorter than the TK35, which is convenient. It looks like this was achieved by putting a bunch of LEDs at the front of the lens with very small reflectors instead of having a single LED with a huge recessed reflector. This makes for a wide, even light. And of course, at 10,000 lumens, this light is insanely bright. I’ve included comparison images between the LR35R, TK35UE (3200 lumens), and the TK35 (860 lumens) below. All of the flashlights are set to full brightness. It’s pretty insane. The downside is that it gets hot quite quickly.

I have the bigger brother (LR40R) flashlight from Fenix. The new LR35R is almost just as bright but makes up for it in size. I can carry the new LR35R in my pocket, although I am 6'3, 245 lbs. Your mileage may vary depending on your size. It conceals pretty good in the front pocket of my 5.11 jeans. A few things I like about it; brightness/size, weight, modes, button position, tail stand, easy to charge, pocket clip, etc. Not really any knocks but if you told me I had to list one, I'd do without the charge port cover as they tend to get stretched over time when using it over and over to charge the battery. It's still waterproof without the cover but I'd rather just remove the batteries and charge them in a standalone charger. But, that's me. Everyone has their own preferences. I will say, I would like to see Fenix use the external charging system like they use on the E18R. No ports, just a magnetic charge cable. Some intended uses I plan for it are for camping, hiking, and general use around the house. The battery lasts a very long time on the first couple of modes. Highly recommended.

Small but powerful. Battery life is great. Gets hot at higher light intensity settings but seems to cool fairly quickly. Very satisfied with purchase and highly recommend.
