I like it very much. It is so bright that i can see underneath of my garage, underground detail.

  2. Jason (verified owner)

Absolutely amazing product! Very happy with my purchase.

  3. Dale

My motivation to buy this light was all the lumens in a small package. I work high school security and wanted something that not only could light a large area but could also keep someone at bay with extreme brightness. When I first opened the box I was pleased to find the light is somewhat smaller than what I expected. I don’t know why, but even though they are pictured in someone’s hand, I just can’t get the true perspective until I’m holding it in person. I was also skeptical about how much I’d like the rectangular body opposed to a typical cylindrical flashlight. As it turns out I now wish all flashlights were shaped like this! It’s actually more comfortable and makes the switch easy to find. The amount of light coming out of this unit is amazing. This light is exactly what I was looking for. I tested it at work and it completely (yes, completely) illuminates the totally dark auditorium. I then tried it in our huge high-school sized gym which is a larger. It lit it up almost as well. The reason I say almost is I lost some reflectivity off of the dark color walls, ceiling, and bleachers. NOT the light’s fault!! The huge gym was still very well lit up.

So here are some observations: The LR35R is small enough to wear on a duty belt but I’d say this is the maximum sized light for a belt. It is extremely bright
and broadly illuminates large areas. Turbo mode is so bright that a threat would have a difficult time up against it. In turbo the head gets hot very quickly. It’s just something to be aware of. I’m just a bit paranoid over how hot it gets and it would be nice if the lockout was a little more assuring. Though the switch is recessed I would feel better if the lockout process included a second identical function button on the opposite side that requires a simultaneous press for unlocking. Lastly, There are 5 lighting levels (not including strobe) and this is too many. In my opinion the medium and low settings could be done away with while keeping eco for tactical low lighting. I say this not only for this model, but for the whole flashlight line-up. The light remembers your previous light level choice but when you lock it the level is then forgotten. When it comes out of lock it is on eco. I don’t like wasting time flicking through levels. In a situation less choices are better and having it remember the last level after being locked would be awesome. Despite the few tweaks I’ve suggested, none of them would make me change my mind about owning this light. It’s perfectly suited to my situation and I love it.

Amazing compact light. Also great when it’s dark and chilly as a little hand warmer.

  5. Clint Bennetsen (verified owner)

This light is unbelievable! It is super bright, by far the brightest hand-held flashlight I have ever owned at 3000 lumens. Very simple to operate.

  6. George B. (verified owner)

Great light, great company. My inventory just keeps growing.

  7. Lori (verified owner)

I loved this so much, I bought several more for presents!

  8. Enrique (verified owner)

This light is one of my favorites. Love that you can carry the power of the sun in hand at a moments notice. 10,000 lumens people! I use this light at work as I work graveyard shift as a lineman. It is one of my most go to tools. Love the user interface and the strobe feature comes in handy with the alternating pattern on the strobe.
Does get hot on Turbo, but it’s not meant to run on turbo full time. I run it at the level 4. Those luminous SST-40’s are no joke. I daily carry this light in my front pocket. No joke, it works fine. Ergonomically the light is awesome and just the right amount of purchase for a good grip. Love the recessed on/off button as this thing has not turned on accidentally in my pocket. Fenix this is a tried and true design. Love the Dual 21700’s as well. Thanks again!

  9. Bryan L. (verified owner)

I am in awe! Highly satisfied with this purchase and the quality of the product. I’m becoming obsessed with these flash lights.

  10. Chris (verified owner)

This flashlight is absolutely amazing. I walk my dog every day in the evening and always felt like cars could not see me and it was hard for me to see much. Not any more. Quality is the best.

  11. Danny (verified owner)

Of all my lights, this is the one to keep in your go bag or your camping gear. Yes, it will get warm upon leaving it in turbo or 10,000 lumen mode, however the sheer compact size of this light and the fact that it holds two 21,700 batts, make this a beast that can last forever if stranded or on a week long camping trip. Multiple modes offer plenty of light and battery life, with the option of leading a full-on search party or turning the darkest of nights into day. This is the holy grail of my collection, for purpose lights. I have plenty of other edc lights to carry on my person that are more compact, but this one stays in the go bag so I always have it if needed. No, I wasn’t paid or compensated in any way for this review, I just love this Lr35r so much that I felt I should leave an honest review.

    Yes mashta. Best light

  13. Donny O. (verified owner)

Light output is out of this world. I have had spot lights that didn’t put out that much light. It does get hot fast but it is a great product for the size.

  14. Scott Bakker (verified owner)

    Exceeded all expectations.

  15. Buddy G. (verified owner)

Great light. Great quality and performs exceptionally well. Friends are shocked how bright it is in such a small comfortable handle.

  16. Clay (verified owner)

    Love this! Worth every dollar

  17. Mark B. (verified owner)

Love the light, the safety takes a little getting use to, but damn it bright!

  18. Craig C. (verified owner)

Amazing light, very bright. Used it as a portable “work” light to do yard work at night. Yes it gets hot if you leave it on the brightest setting, I believe Fenix mentions that.

  19. Jason (verified owner)

I’m very happy with this purchase. I was looking for a compact light that I could take on my nightly walks, and I needed some thing that could go from quite dim to super bright. This light is the answer. It’s quite a bit larger Than any one of my other flashlights, but it’s worth the added size and weight to het a light thay can het this bright.

This is my fourth Fenix light. I received my light last weekend and it was already opened, so I wanted to check the actual runtime and performed a test. I used a fan to cool the light during the test. The light on turbo mode is supposed to last 1 hour and 25 minutes. After 30 minutes, I put a wet towel on the upper half of the light to keep it cool. That drastically reduced the temperature but the light automatically switched down to Low mode after 49 minutes. I turned the light off for five minutes. I then set it on Turbo mode. The light automatically switched back to Low mode. Although I loved the light, a runtime of 49 minutes was unacceptable when it is advertised as a runtime of 1 hour and 25 minutes. I initiated a return on my light but will definitely buy more Fenix lights.

  21. John M. (verified owner)

Nice high power light in a compact package

  22. Frederick (verified owner)

    Best light ever, highly illuminating.

  23. James F. (verified owner)

    Best little light on earth!

  24. Jordan (verified owner)

    Impressed!

  25. BEN (verified owner)

Took on a 35 minute bike ride fully charged and it gave out 15 minutes into the ride at night! Very disappointed with this light – keep your money!

    • Dianne

I will have warranty reach out to you.

  26. David W. (verified owner)

Puts out an unbelievable amount of light for such a small light compared to other lights of similar capabilities. Very well thought out on design and function. Very reasonable price for what you get. I would highly recommend this product.

  27. charles solano

    will it take 4123A batteries?

    • Dianne

The LR35R uses two 21700 rechargeable li-ion batteries. Two CR123A would be the same size as an 18650 battery, which is smaller than the 21700 in this light. So 4 CR123A will not be the same size as two 21700.

  28. John K. (verified owner)

    I like that it’s rechargeable.

  29. George E. (verified owner)

Excellent power in a small package.

  30. David G. (verified owner)

Extremely powerful but in a relatively compact package.

  31. Josh Rex (verified owner)

Having this light in my life for 20 days now I can honestly say WOW! I didn’t completely know what to expect getting a 10,000-lumen light, but during the unboxing I was completely amazed with how much power was clearly packed into such a compact light. The weight of the light caught me off guard, over the years I have carried multiple brands of lights, but they always seemed extremely bulks and hard to keep in keep on hand for any period. This light fits perfect in hand, its not overly bulky and the carrying pouch that comes with it is easily useable. I currently keep this light on my to go bag at all points in time and it fits my everyday life style perfectly.
When it comes to the light itself, the metal body makes you know that you have a sturdy product in hand so soon as you pull it out of the box. When turning on the light for the first time I was dumbfounded with how bright it was. I was sitting at my kitchen table, with the windows open during the middle of the day, and at 10,000 lumen this made my room brighter. Knowing that this was as powerful as it was, I knew I had to take the time to try it out at night. So, on recent coyote hunt I brought this along as our tracking light. When we used this for tracking in a pitch-black field around Mid Night, I found that this light literally makes the night turn day.
Overall, from a quality, durability, and over all great light stand point this is bar none a light that I am glad I added to my collection. Being able to see the quality of this thing it has truly made me a believer in these lights. Not all things are created equal, and this light is proof of it.

  32. Reuben S. (verified owner)

What a powerhouse! I was in love with my TK35 and thought it was the greatest thing ever, then the TK35UE came along, and that was the greatest ever. I’ve tried many other flashlights, but I’ve always appreciated the dual-battery, compact size of the TK35. Now the LR35R comes along with a much more powerful output in a significantly smaller package, and we have a winner.

The USB-C external charging port is great, I love that I don’t have to take the flashlight apart and remove the batteries to charge them.

The power button is located on the side of the unit, which is not my preference. It’s much faster and more intuitive to be able to find an on/off button that located on the tailpiece, so I’m a bit disappointed in that.

Like all Fenix flashlights, it’s built like a tank. It’s significantly shorter than the TK35, which is convenient. It looks like this was achieved by putting a bunch of LEDs at the front of the lens with very small reflectors instead of having a single LED with a huge recessed reflector. This makes for a wide, even light.

And of course, at 10,000 lumens, this light is insanely bright. I’ve included comparison images between the LR35R, TK35UE (3200 lumens), and the TK35 (860 lumens) below. All of the flashlights are set to full brightness. It’s pretty insane. The downside is that it gets hot quite quickly.

  33. Timothy E. (verified owner)

If you need a search light that is durable and weighs practically nothing then spend the money and purchase this one. As a person who has spent 21 years in law enforcement carrying the big D cell flashlights this should be the new “standard department issued” light for search and rescue. Remember to bring 2 extra sets of batteries for long nights.

    • Dianne

Please note we recommend using Turbo mode for a short time due to the heat that is produced in this mode.

  34. HARVEY SIZEMORE (verified owner)

    Love it

  35. Gail Bengard (verified owner)

I LOVE,LOVE,LOVE this flashlight!! It fits in my pocket, is light, is easy to find the turn on button and can blast lumens like crazy. It could be used as a great protective device if it every came to that. It hides in your hand well. Awesome light. Get one!

  36. Jason (verified owner)

Why does the casing run so hot at Turbo mode? I wished the casing had a way to divert the heat away from where your hands is in contact with the handle.

  37. Matt B. (verified owner)

Super bright but gets hot really fast when holding it

  38. Kory (verified owner)

Very powerful light in a small, manageable size

  39. Scott R. (verified owner)

    Excellent light!

Second review of the lr35r. The fellow in warranty with Fenix promptly sent me out a second flashlight as I broke the rubber cover off the first flashlight. I Appreciate your quick response. My first and my second lr35r did not come with a wall charger. Therefore, I used a couple of different Chargers on both my first and my second LR 35r. Both flashlights had an intermittent flashing red and green signal while charging and never would show it reached a full charge with the two various wall Chargers I used. One of the wall Chargers was from Fenix that came with another light I ordered from them. I considered sending second light back because I assume there might possibly be something wrong with the internal Electronics because the phone was not charging properly. I like the light and I wanted to keep it so I ordered a wall charger from Amazon. When I used the wall charger from amazon the flashlight charged properly to a complete charge as per the instructions. I’ll try to add a link in here on the charger that I ordered. My comment or advice to Fenix, you need to be on your A-game. I pay this much for a flashlight I wanted it to work when I receive it. The internal Electronics is obviously pretty sensitive and you need to have the proper charger to charge this light. Include a proper charger so the light functions properly because I have a lot of choices where I make my purchases. I recommend this light but you need to get on your A game Fenix.

    • Dianne

Hi Rob – please note that we do not include the wall charger with any lights. The rechargeable lights include the appropriate charging cord but they do not include the USB wall charger. We have learned through our own testing that the LR35R must have a wall charger of at least 2 AMPS.

  46. Jeffrrooo (verified owner)

Fits well in the hand, awesome size with this much power.Awesome torch that throws off some heat.

  47. Justin (verified owner)

I have the bigger brother (LR40R) flashlight from Fenix. The new LR35R is almost just as bright but makes up for it in size. I can carry the new LR35R in my pocket, although I am 6’3, 245 lbs. Your mileage may vary depending on your size. It conceals pretty good in the front pocket of my 5.11 jeans. A few things I like about it; brightness/size, weight, modes, button position, tail stand, easy to charge, pocket clip, etc. Not really any knocks but if you told me I had to list one, I’d do without the charge port cover as they tend to get stretched over time when using it over and over to charge the battery. It’s still waterproof without the cover but I’d rather just remove the batteries and charge them in a standalone charger. But, that’s me. Everyone has their own preferences. I will say, I would like to see Fenix use the external charging system like they use on the E18R. No ports, just a magnetic charge cable. Some intended uses I plan for it are for camping, hiking, and general use around the house. The battery lasts a very long time on the first couple of modes. Highly recommended.

  48. Robert Bell (verified owner)

I just received my lr35r last night. Today I’ve already broken the rubber cover off of the type C charging port. Nice flashlight, very bright, but the rubber that holds the charging port cover on is very small and did not take much to pull it completely off.
I have several Fenix flashlights and some gun mounted and have never had an issue. This charging port is not very strong. One other suggestion. The USB charging cable should be just a little bit longer.

  49. Matt

Just received this light today after pre-ordering. It is by far the brightest flashlight I have ever seen. The turbo mode at 10,000 lumens is incredible. With that much output comes lots of heat though. I suggest wearing gloves if you plan on using the turbo mode because this light does get pretty hot after a few minutes.
