(7 customer reviews)

$111.00 $84.95

This zoomable – or focusable – flashlight allows the choice of four brightness levels, strobe mode and variable focus. A unique twist of the head smoothly transitions the beam between a spotlight and floodlight. Once the user has the light in the desired position, the beam will stay put in the focus position, no lockout function required. The FD41 focusable flashlight is designed for tactical and outdoor use as adjustable focus is imperative for different environments and activities.

Operation Instruction

The tail cap switch is the tactical switch, and the side button switch is the functional switch.

ON/OFF

Tap the tactical switch to turn on the light momentarily, release it and the light will go out.

Fully press the tactical switch to turn on the light constantly, press once again to switch off the light.

Output Selection

With the light on, single clicking the functional switch continually, the light will cycle through Turbo→Low→Med→High.

Strobe

With the light on, press and hold the functional switch for 0.5 seconds to activate Strobe; with another single click the light will return to previously used General brightness level.

Spotlight and Floodlight Adjustment

The factory default will be total floodlight. Rotate the focusing ring to regulate the lens focus, thus changing between spotlight and floodlight.

Intelligent Memory Circuit

The flashlight memorizes the last brightness level used in the General mode. The next time it is turned on, it will recall the previously used General brightness level.

Dual-protection Function

Time control: The light will downshift from Turbo to High after 5 working minutes.

Heat control: The light will accumulate a lot of heat when used at Turbo output level for extended periods. When the light reaches a temperature of 55℃ or above, it will automatically step down by a few lumens to reduce temperature. When the temperature is reduced, the output will gradually return.

Low-voltage Downshift Function

When the voltage level drops below the preset level, the flashlight is programmed to downshift to lower brightness levels until Low output is reached. When this happens in Low output mode, the flashlight blinks three times every five minutes to remind you to charge the light or replace the battery. To ensure normal use, the flashlight will not turn off and will work until the over-discharge function stops the battery from working.

Usage and Maintenance

  • Disassembling the sealed head can cause damage to the light and will void the warranty.
  • Fenix recommends using excellent quality batteries.
  • If the light will not be used for an extended period, remove the battery, or the light could be damaged by electrolyte leakage or battery explosion.
  • Continuous usage at Turbo brightness level in hot or poor heat dissipation environment, the light may activate overheat protection or light beam trembling. To maintain normal usage, please lower brightness level to cool down the flashlight.
  • Long-term use can result in O-ring wear. To maintain a proper watertight seal, replace the ring with an approved spare.
  • Periodic cleaning of the battery contacts improves the lamp’s performance as dirty contacts may cause the lamp to flicker, shine intermittently or even fail to illuminate for the following reasons:

A: The battery needs replacing.
Solution: Replace battery (Ensure battery is inserted according to the manufacturer’s specifications).

B: The threads, PCB board contact or other contacts are dirty.
Solution: Clean the contact points with a cotton swab soaked in rubbing alcohol.

If the above methods don’t work, please refer to the warranty policy before contacting your authorized distributor.

Warning

The flashlight is a high-intensity lighting device capable of causing eye damage to the user or others. Avoid shining the flashlight directly into anyone’s eyes.

Thought the flash light is great and i love it, especially the USB chargeable battery and holster as a package, i did feel that the brightness is not as good as it looked in the images. Though i didnt need such high brightness.

Great light and even better customer service. I have several Fenix models and have never had an issue with any prior. Received this one with a focusing problem. Returned light and it was replaced by Fenix all within less than a week. Can’t be beat.

I own both the fd30 and the fd41 I am bit disappointed in the lights they have great flood, but thats about it.
The fd40 had farther reach than these do, other than that there are great lights from fenix.
You will only get about 75-100 yards of throw on these flashlights.

I’ve had this light since November 2016 and it’s just as awesome as my Fenix PD35TAC I purchased in October 2016. I’ve given away all my Mag Lights. These lights are the best in the industry.

This review is for the FD40, an older version of the FD41 but fairly similar.

I’ve accumulated scads of flashlights over the years and this FD40/41 is the only one I reach for. It has a perfect combination of size, power, function and removable rechargeable battery.

I’d love to give this 5-stars as it really is the best option in its class anywhere. If my request below is fixed, it will jump to 5-stars++++!

Here’s my one request of Fenix to make this flashlight better: MAKE THE FUNCTION SWITCH EASIER TO LOCATE WITH YOUR THUMB. In the light when you can look, no problem. When walking around in a dark night and rolling the FD40/41 around in your hand “feeling” for the switch, it’s too hard to find. I don’t know how to fix this; maybe backlight the button?

Just received mine yesterday and I love it!

I’ve been looking for an update to my well-used TK11 and TK22 flashlights since the new ones are significantly brighter. When I came across the FD41, it caught my attention due to the great flood option with the focus.

What I like most about the flood mode is that Fenix tuned the optics well enough to make the light virtually seamless. Those of you who had old incandescent flashlights from yesteryear remember how the light was uneven due to the bulb and filament geometry. The old Maglites that zoomed the bulb in and out showed this as well with the swirls of the light. I’ve also noticed on cheaper LED flashlights that the optics aren’t designed or tuned well enough to eliminate the colorshift or spot-spill look. Fenix excels here beyond any other LED brand I’ve tried. When you twist the collar from spot to flood, you will notice the light separate temporarily causing some light rings and halos. As you continue to the max flood point, you’ll notice the rings disappear and a perfectly uniform light emerge. It’s as brilliant as it is beautiful!

Yes, of course it’s also very bright. I’ve found that the 150-lumen setting is adequate for looking around the house in the dark. Outside, you can crank it up to get a brighter field of view by basically turning your surrounding night into day.

Keep up the great innovation and attention to detail, Fenix!
