*18650 Li-ion batteries are powerful cells designed for commercial applications and must be treated with caution and handled with care. Quality batteries with circuit protection will reduce the potential for combustion or explosion but cell damage or short circuiting are potential risks the user assumes.

Battery Replacement

Unscrew the battery cover and insert the battery with the anode side (+) towards the light head, then screw the battery cover back on.

Low-voltage Warning

When the voltage level drops below the preset level, the indicator blinks red to remind you to recharge the battery. To ensure normal use, the flashlight will not turn off automatically and will work till the battery level runs out.

Overheat Protection

The light will accumulate a lot of heat when used on Turbo for extended periods. To ensure safe use, the light will automatically step down a few lumens to reduce the temperature. When the temperature is reduced, Turbo mode can be reselected.

Usage and Maintenance

  • Recharge the light timely when the battery level is critical, for future use.
  • Recharge a stored light every three months to maintain optimal battery performance.
  • The light will accumulate a lot of heat when working on Turbo mode. Do not touch the heat dissipation fins.
  • Remove the battery if the light will not be used for a long time.
  • Once charging is completed, be sure to remove the charging cable and replace the dust cover.

Warning

This light is a high-intensity lighting device capable of causing severe eye damage. Avoid shining the light directly into anyone’s eyes.

Second Fenix light I've owned. Gets the job done for my morning commute!

Mounting bracket is easy to install and durable. Flashlight controls are super easy to use.

Only company that makes a bike light with a removable battery that I can find. I can do big adventures and just carry a couple extra batteries. The light won't be trash in 2 years when the battery is worn out like other lights. Like all fenix lights, the LED is a good quality. Nice white light. Simple to use. And it's USB-C! Micro usb is the absolute worst.

Excellent

It's great that the BC21Rv2 supports USB-C and a standard 18650 which the bike industry is slow to move to. Color temp and no flicker are good. Wish the mount was less fussy and supported mounting below the bar, but that's easily resolved with a TwoFish LockBlocks or similar. The glare cutoff optic is a bit overhyped and underwhelming, but that's the case with all bike lights so far.

The light itself has minor improvements on the model it replaces in the lineup; like its predecessor, it is a superb light in brightness, beam pattern, battery life, and ease of use. The big improvement is the mount, which replaces the widely criticized silicone ladder with a properly designed clamp. Highly recommended.
