Sturdy light mount for picatinny rail.

Pros: 1) It leaves the tail cap button available for use. 2) It detaches without tools so the light can be quickly used independently of where the gun is pointed.

Modifications: I’ve use the mount with PD 35s on several other AR builds. This current mount I am using on a A.R. pistol I wanted a shorter light so I used a PD 25. The PD 25 of course is smaller in diameter and fits loosely in this mount unless you make a modification. The modification is simply this: take one of the extra pads, trim off the plugs on the back (very easy to do with a knife) and use it to add extra thickness around the light. The mount will cinch down on the light so that it does not move even when the tail cap is pressed.

Con/other modification: I usually shorten the screw (with a Dremel) that clamps down the top part of the mount over the light. The reason I do this is that I have pinched my fingers a few times when I was releasing the light from the gun or returning the light to the gun. A pinch point exists in the space between the end of the screw and the releasing lever.

Definitely would buy again (I have several so I have definitely “bought it again“).

It works as designed. Can’t wait to try it out on the rifle at night.
