First off, I feel that it should be known that I only subscribed to become a member of this site as I felt this little light required my review.

Only owning the light for a few days now, “early” xmas gift from my wife… I have already used it in a number of situations. One of which involved fixing a leaky valve in our hot water pluming.

While taking care of the fix I didn’t need to grab for my larger Maglight, or a stand light, I just used my new E05 light, which was already on my key-chain. Brighter than every light I own, going up to 3D batteries! … Fenix did a great job on this little key-chain light. A solid nugget of engineering.

    Totally worth the MSRP!

Perfect for ultra-light backpacking. I can clip the flashlight to my pants.
I always use it in low mode and it’s enough. The 85 lumens in high mode is very bright. You don’t need frontal lamp because you can put the tiny E05 in your mouth. Where each gram count like in ultralight walking, this flashlight deliver!

Good light and small size are advantages. Unfortunately, my E05 has terribly loose thread and bad contacts. I had to squish the head an make it slightly oval, otherwise I wouldn’t be able to turn on the light firmly. The thread is so loose, that one can turn on the light by pressing head down.
Also the head contact should be a spring. My light has a tendency to jump through modes during turning on, independent on power source.

I have purchased one of these for myself and my wife, as well as several to give away. The light output on these is incredible. Since there is no button, the size stays very small. Turning the head to switch brightness output is easy.

I had one problem with these. The light suddenly quit working. I tried new batteries, but it still wouldn’t work. Finally, I cleaned the contacts with alcohol, even though they looked clean. This fixed the problem. So, try this if you have any problems.

My wonderful GF gave me an E05 as a gift a long time ago. It has been dropped countless times, used in the rain and the snow, been underwater, used on top of a hot car engine while searching for wildlife under the hood of m car, illuminating door locks, lighting IT installation projects, exploring small caves, lighting my way for early morning jogs and even even serves as a backup in the storm shelter. I has been used so much that the “black” has been worn off of most of it and It has never failed me. That is as good as it gets.

Awesome I use this everyday for night swimming or just putting it in my pocket or in glass of water

5 stars for this product; my use is unconventional – it is an end-lane-marker in 5 ft of water at the end of a 58,000-gal pool i use at 0500 every morning for one-mile swims – runtime is about right based on weekly use with a plain alkaline AAA – i like this little light, and it’s a permanent part of my kit!

I’ve been looking for a flashlight like this for years.

It’s about as small as you can get and still be powered with an AAA cell. It is over 1/2″ shorter and a smidgen larger in diameter than a Mag Instrument Solitaire – with many times more light. It is small enough to carry in my pocket at all times.

It runs on 1.5 or 1.2 V NiMH AAA batteries. No, expensive button cells needed

It has one of the best flood lens – creating a very broad flood with a very smooth light transition with no lines or circles.

The quality of the light is beautiful white sunlight-like light.

It is waterproof not just water resistant.

Switch simplicity – just twist on, twist off.
