Fenix HT18

Ambassador Cody D.

I have to admit that this is my first long distance flashlight so I didn’t know what to expect. I have had and used spot lights and that is what I compared this light to – a 1200 lumen 1000 meter spot light. I included pictures of the performance for both and one seemed to be lying, according to the statistics they are close one is a little brighter and the other shines a little further. One is clearly better.

The HT18 is built very well, battery life is sufficient, and it can throw some light. The trees in the picture are 650′ away and it lit them up with ease, I know that is a fraction of its rating but still impressive to me. I have come to like the luminus brand emitters and I wonder what this light could be like with an SST70 instead of the Cree XHP35. That may be the only change I would make on this light. It is bright, durable, and shines far. I really like the double spring for the battery isolation considering one of applications of this light being mounted to a rifle, as well as protecting the battery from drops. This light is perfect for any outdoor, hunting, and/or hiking enthusiasts, as well as search and rescue or emergency situations. If you’re looking for something that can go the distance check out the HT18 by Fenix.
