The Fenix TK47UE Tactical Duty Flashlight, with its long range illumination, is designed with the security and law-enforcement professional in mind. Fitted with a Cree XHP70 LED, resulting in a beam of almost 1339 feet (408m). The TK47UE Tactical Duty flashlight also includes a multi-funtional tail light that features a red light for signaling and a soft lantern light for duties such as report writing. This independently controlled tail light has four modes including a low-lumen white or red light for reading and a red Flash/SOS. The white LED provides better color rendering allowing for quicker identification of objects. We believe you’ll find this light to be perfect for security and law-enforcement professionals’ daily activities. NOTE: The light will not work with flat-top 18650s. We recommend any of the ARB-L18 series from Fenix.
I work midnight shift at a water plant and this is the first flashlight I've owned to survive long enough to celebrate it's first birthday in use. I have been buying flashlights in the $100-200 range for the last decade. The longest prior survival was 9 months. My TK47UE is now past 20 months with no failures. And it's constantly getting wet, exposed to caustic and acidic chemicals, dropped, slammed around, and even occasional use as a light duty hammer. Glass lens is not only unbroken, but unscratched as far as I can tell. Switch still works flawlessly, although I do wish there was a bit more difference between long press for off and longer for strobe. The tail light is the biggest benefit for me just walking around doing my duties since the plant is outside with few lights once away from buildings.. I like it so much that I am getting another just in case this one breaks, although the way it's going that may be money wasted on something that's never needed because this one is still going strong.
I really like this flashlight Fenix Lights are great!!!
The light worked well for a few months of very light use but now it wont stay on. It turns on but after a few seconds it shuts off on its own. It also shuts off when I use the strobe mode. Hopefully its only the tail switch. I have 3 other Fenix lights with zero problems and im purchasing another soon. I think this is just a one off thing. Expected to happen when you sell so many lights. Still like my Fenix lights.
The only thing I would add or change about this model is I would somehow make the main power button easier to find in the dark, maybe a sandpaper texture or a glow in the dark button. Also I have seen other models are able to charge via usb cable, that functionality would be useful. Other than that, thanks for a great flashlight!
Everything Fenix is awesome, reliable and well built
I've been running this light for just under a year now. It has an amazing beam with great throw. The illuminated tail cap gives a soft, diffused white light, as well as a steady and flashing red. Tail cap and main light are controlled individually. I've kept it in both fire apparatus and at home when I walk the dog. It's a great all-around light. Except one thing. Now this may not be a big deal to some, but this is where I feel it lacks. The button on the side of the body is pretty slim lined. I find it almost impossible to use while using gloves. the buttons smooth texture makes passing over it with bare hands easy, and I find myself fumbling to turn it on. I've since used a dremel to rough up the button, which has helped a bit. I'd like to see a more defined button, be it texture or on a raised surface. But the controls aside, it's a solid light that has served me well.
