Product Overview

The Fenix LD36R Multicolor Flashlight isn’t your average light. It’s built for power, but packed with color. With an impressive maximum output of 3600 lumens and a beam that throws light over 1263 feet (385 meters), it delivers serious performance when you need it. But what makes this flashlight really unique is the built-in multicolor mode. Flip the toggle switch to activate vibrant color options like Sunrise Red, Sunset Orange, and Luminous Green. With a double tap of the switch, you can even seamlessly glide through a continuous spectrum of color to find just the right shade.

This multicolor flashlight also comes with a diffuser tip so you can spread color across a wider area, making it a standout for creative lighting or just setting the scene your way. When it’s time to get back to work, switch instantly back to bright white light with no fuss. Powered by a high-capacity ARB-L21-6000 battery and rechargeable via USB-C, the LD36R combines rugged utility with a lot of personality.

Battery Replacement
Unscrew the light body and insert the battery with the anode side (+) towards the light head, then screw the light body back on.

Charging

  1. Turn off the flashlight and open the anti-dust cover to reveal the USB Type-C charging port, then connect the USB Type-C end of the charging cable to the light.
  2. The indicator will display red while charging and will turn green when fully charged.
  3. Once charging is completed, be sure to unplug the charging cable and close the anti-dust cover.

Note:

  1. The normal charging time of the included Fenix ARB-L21-6000 battery is approximately 3.5 hours from depleted to fully charged with a 5 V/2.5 A charging adapter.
  2. Recharge a stored flashlight every four months to maintain the optimum performance of the battery.
  3. When charging, all modes can be turned on, excluding Turbo, Strobe, and Colorful breathing light. However, the brightness levels may vary based on different charging statuses and battery levels.

Battery Level Indication
With the light turned off, single click the electronic switch to check the battery status, the indicator will last for 3 seconds. Each time the light is turned on, the indicator will show the current battery level and will last for 3 seconds.
Green light on: saturated 100% - 85%
Green light flashes: sufficient 85% - 50%
Red light on: poor 50% - 25%
Red light flashes: critical 25% - 1%
*This feature only works with a Fenix ARB-L21 Series battery.

Intelligent Overheat Protection
The flashlight will accumulate a lot of heat when used at high output levels for extended periods. When the flashlight reaches a temperature of 60°C/140°F or above, it will automatically step down a few lumens to reduce the temperature. When the temperature drops below 60°C/140°F, the flashlight will gradually recall the preset output level.

Low-voltage Warning
When the voltage level drops below the preset level, the flashlight is programmed to downshift to a lower brightness level until Eco output is reached. When this happens in Eco output, the battery level indicator blinks red to remind users to replace or recharge the battery in a timely manner.
*This feature only works with a Fenix ARB-L21 Series battery.

Usage and Maintenance

  • Disassembling the sealed head can cause damage to the flashlight and will void the warranty.
  • Fenix recommends using an excellent quality battery.
  • If the flashlight will not be used for an extended period, remove the battery, or the light could be damaged by electrolyte leakage.
  • Lock the light or remove the battery to prevent accidental activation during storage or transportation.
  • Long-term use can result in O-ring wear. To maintain a proper water seal, replace the ring with an approved spare.
  • Periodic cleaning of the light and battery contacts improves the light's performance as dirty contacts may cause the lamp to flicker, shine intermittently or even fail to illuminate for the following reasons:
    A: Poor battery level.
Solution: Recharge or replace the battery.
B: The contact or contact point of the battery or flashlight is dirty.
Solution: Clean the contact points with a cotton swab soaked in rubbing alcohol.

If the above methods don't work, please contact the distributor.

Warning

  • Do NOT place this flashlight in the reach of children!
  • Do NOT shine the flashlight directly into the eyes of anyone!
  • Do NOT place light head near flammable objects, high temperatures can cause objects to overheat and become flammable/ignite!
  • Do NOT use the flashlight in inappropriate ways such as holding the unit in your mouth, doing so could cause serious personal injury or death if the flashlight or internal battery fails!
  • This flashlight will accumulate a significant amount of heat while operating, resulting in a high temperature of the light shell. Pay close attention to avoid burns.
  • Turn off and lock the flashlight or remove the battery to prevent accidental activation when the light is placed in a closed and flammable environment such as pockets and backpacks!
  • The LEDs of this flashlight are not replaceable; so the whole light will need to be replaced if any one of the LEDs reaches the end of its lifespan.

When the light reaches a certain temperature, the light will automatically step down a few lumens to reduce the temperature. Therefore, this runtime data is measured in total of runtime including output at reduced levels due to temperature or protection mechanism in the design. According to the ANSI/PLATO FL1 standard, this runtime data is from the results produced by Fenix through its laboratory testing under the temperature of 21±3°C. (For additional details, please check the runtime graphic in the user manual).
*According to the ANSI/PLATO FL1 standard, the initial reading of runtime is taken at 30 seconds of continuous operation, and the end point of reading is reached when the output value reaches 10% of the initial value.

  1. Intelligent Overheat Protection
The flashlight will accumulate a lot of heat when used at high output levels for extended periods. When the light reaches a temperature of 60°C or above, the light will automatically step down a few lumens to reduce the temperature.
  2. Low-voltage Warning
When the voltage level drops below the preset level, the flashlight is programmed to downshift to a lower brightness level until the lowest output level is reached.

Why does the LD36R happen to flicker?
A: The reasons that may cause the light to flicker, shine intermittently or even fail to illuminate:

  1. Poor battery level.
Solution: Recharge or replace the battery.
  2. The contact or contact point of the battery or light is dirty.
