Great for running at night in a dark forest

My old headlamp wasn't bright enough to light up the way while trail running at night in a thick forest. This one is sooo much brighter (definitely the brightest head lamp I've ever seen)! I like that it has both a wide and a spot lamp so you can adjust the lighting based on the trail or area you're running on.
First I was skeptical since the lamp is somewhat large and doesn't have a third strap on top of your head. But the strap mechanism makes it easy to adjust the lamp and make it tight enough so that it doesn't slip. I'm going to deduct one star though because when running downhill, it tends to slip down (unless worn over a fuzzy beanie) and bounce, even when adjusted quite tight. If there would be an option for a third top strap, this would be the perfect 5 star lamp.
The light itself -- amazing and it's very easy to use without a complicated UI.

This is the 5th Fenix light I have purchased and happy with all purchases!

Great headlamp!

Best headlamp I've ever owned! Love the individual brightness options on both the flood and spotlight. Doesn't feel as bulky as it looks and headband is very comfortable.

Holy brightness!

This headlamp is by far the brightest lamp I’ve seen. I recently used it for a 50K race with a 6AM start. I literally had a perfect view of the trail ahead as I ran and never once felt like there was an obstacle that I didn’t or couldn’t see.

Best Upgrade!

I received my HM65R-T in the mail yesterday and went on my first run this morning. The running path was lit in some locations but not in others. I was using some cheaper $30-40 headlamps with only 100-200 lumens of high output. In the darker areas of the path I was not able to see well enough for mine and my running companion’s safety. After looking at several headlamps such as the Petzl Nao RL+ and the Biolite 800, I decided on the Fenix and couldn’t be more happy. I found myself using the floodlight on the high setting most of the run and was more than adequate to light up the pathway. When we were in the unlit portions of the trail, I turned on the spotlight in medium setting in tandem with the floodlight. The dark was like day and I felt comfortable and confident running the path at night. This is the best upgrade I could ask for and will be using the Fenix headlamp for multiple purposes in the dark nights of Alaska.
