Usage and Maintenance for the Fenix CL26R Rechargeable Lantern

  • Disassembling the sealed head can cause damage to the lantern and will void the warranty.
  • Fenix recommends using excellent-quality batteries.
  • If the light will not be used for an extended period, remove the batteries or the lantern could be damaged by electrolyte leakage or battery explosion.
  • Recharge the light timely when the battery level is critical, for future use.
  • Recharge a stored light every three months to maintain optimal battery performance.
  • Replace the dust cover when charging is complete to ensure waterproof and dustproof performance.
  • Long-term use can result in O-ring wear. To maintain a proper water seal, replace the ring with an approved spare.
  • Periodic cleaning of the battery contacts improves the lamp's performance, as dirty contacts may cause the lamp to flicker, shine intermittently or even fail to illuminate for the following reasons:
    A: The battery needs replacing.
Solution: Replace battery (ensure battery is inserted according to the manufacturer’s specifications).
B: The threads, PCB board contact or other contacts are dirty.
Solution: Clean the contact points with a cotton swab soaked in rubbing alcohol.

If the above methods don't work, please contact your authorized distributor.

Great little lantern.

Great little lantern. Use it all the time for a bedside light.

Love it - except for the charging port!

@Fenix, I have 4 flashlights and two headlamps, all 6 of those have a USB Type C charging port but the CL26R lantern has a USB Micro?? It's been nice to not have to worry about multiple charging cables when I go camping, but that's changed. It's not a deal breaker, I love your products! But seriously, is there a reason the CL26R didn't come with a Type C?

The CL26R does not use USB-C because it was released before USB-C was the norm. A few years ago, almost all the rechargeable lights were micro-USB, just like the majority of other electronics out there that used USB charging. In the past few years, yes, the majority of products have moved to USB-C, but completely changing the manufacturing and internal components of some of the older, tried and true products, like the CL26R, would be extremely costly. As such, the manufacturing of those products will still be for micro-USB.

the lantern is great for star parties where a red light is essential, it’s hard to find one that has a red light that is dim enough and the recharge feature is a plus
