The AFH-05 SPORT Headband is a replacement headband for headlamps the currently utilize this type of SPORT headband. It is longer than the original, allowing for better fit over knit hats, and features an updated tightening system—rotate clockwise to tighten, rotate counter-clockwise to loosen.

Operating instructions

A: Rotate the dial clockwise to tighten the headband, and rotate the dial anticlockwise to loosen the headband.

*When the headband hits its maximum length, keep rotating the dial and the operation direction will reverse.

Attach the headband through the headlamp brackets.

1-How to untie the AFH-05 headband

  • Remove the pulling rope from both ends of the open groove.
  • Slide the open groove through the buckle to untie the headband.

2-How to attach the AFH-05 to the headlamp

  • Slide the buckle through the headlamp brackets.
  • Slide the open groove through the buckle.
  • Fix the pulling rope on the open groove.

Love the quick adjust

"I bought this as a replacement band on my current headlamp. The headlamp is great but when I saw Fenix made an easily and quickly adjustable band, I bought two. I was not disappointed. They are very comfortable and flexible but the big win is how fast you can adjust to wear over a camp or just on your bare head. Just a quick twist of the dial and you are all set. No messing around with some other kind of adjustment to try and get it to fit right. If the Fenix band is too lose, twist it a touch. If it's too tight, twist it the other way. Great product design!"

Not happy with the quality

Okay headband with a significant problem

"The ratchet on the headband works great and it is really nice for wearing with knit caps but that is where the benefits end. I need to replace the headband on my HL32R since the original has stretched and will no longer tighten enough to fit on my head without wearing a large winter hat. My wife ended up selling her headlamp since she could never get it snug enough even with a knit cap. I love the headlamp but was rarely able to wear it spring through fall even when new because these headbands are just made much to large. Even wearing a ball cap wasn't enough to keep it snug. It would be great if you made a regular adjustable headband of this width that I could swap out and use spring thru fall and then use this larger ratcheting one during winter. As it stands, unless you have a balloon for a head I wouldn't recommend this style of headband. I might try cutting an inch out of mine and see if I can sew it back together to make it usable."

I love the brand.

"I love the brand. Fenix was literally the first product I bought over the internet (from another country at that time). All products are of the best quality. I like that they sell replacement bands. But this is the new version. The first version, you could pop the ratchet thing out and lose it all. This new model requires turning it in both directions. Incredibly annoying if you are putting on a hard hat and need to expand it all the way, then remove the hat and put it on your head directly. On top of that, it feels cheaper than the first version. Sad for an awesome brand to go down in quality."
