The Fenix ARE-A4 is a four-channel smart charger, built for different types, and different size, rechargeable batteries. The charger will automatically choose the correct charging mode for each battery type, whether it be Li-ion, Ni-MH or Ni-Cd. The high-definition LCD screen displays charging status and battery levels. Built-in multi-protection guarantees charging safety. The Fenix ARB-L18-3500 is a high capacity 18650 Li-ion rechargeable with a protection circuit in the anode to help prevent short circuits, over charge/discharge and over heating.

Batteries are Bomb and the Charger is too

"These batteries last such a long time in the lights Fenix has. That probably isn't really because of the batteries, but the fact that the devices get hot and batteries do not is quite impressive. The charger is amazing. You can toggle the voltage, charging current, and elapsed charge time for each batter independently, it lists the batter type for each battery independently, and there is an indicator that shows how well charged each of the batteries are. The charger doesn't overheat, has no loud/noticeable fan, and appears to have good thermal management. The contacts are really well made and, likely for that reason, it was able to charge some Energizer NiCd batteries that wouldn't charge on my Energizer charger."

Ive used Fenix lights,

"I've used Fenix lights, batteries and chargers for 20 years and have always had good results. Very happy. However, their packing is unbelievable ! With a sharp razor knife and a pair of sharp heavy scissors, it took me 15 minutes to RIP --I wasn't being gentle-- into 4 batteries, 1 small flashlight and a charger. Look at the attached image at the debris that will go into the landfill. I shudder to think of how much of this Fenix sends out every day. ( and it's mostly that rock hard clear plastic that will never break down) This would have been IMPOSSIBLE for someone with arthritis or weak hands to get into. Come on guys. How about some marketing manager earning their pay and coming up some easy way to get into your products with less garbage."
