Tap the tail switch to turn on the light temporarily, fully press to turn ON/OFF the light.

Output Selection
Tap the tail switch first, then release and fast tap again in 1 second to cycle through High→Mid→Low→Strobe.

When the needed brightness level is selected, fully press the switch to power the light constantly, and press again to turn off the light.

Note: The light will not memorize brightness level over 1 second after it is turned off. Each time it will activate at High brightness level.

Low-voltage Warning Function
When the voltage level drops below the preset level, the flashlight is programmed to downshift to a lower brightness level. When this happens in Low output mode, the flashlight blinks three times every five minutes to remind you to replace the battery. To ensure normal use, the flashlight will not turn off automatically and will work until the battery runs out completely.

Note: This only works on 18650 rechargeable Li-ion battery. When the voltage of 18650 battery is detected lower than 3V, low-voltage warning function will fail if the flashlight is turned on again.

Over-heat Protection
The light will accumulate a lot of heat when it is working at High brightness level. When it works at High for 5 minutes or above, the flashlight will automatically downshift into Mid output to prevent the light from overheating. Please reset if High output again is needed.

Battery Replacement
Unscrew the tail cap to insert the battery with the anode side (+) toward the light’s head, screw the tail cap back on.

Usage and Maintenance

  • Disassembling the sealed head may cause damage to the light and will void the warranty.
  • Fenix recommends using excellent quality batteries. If the flashlight will not be used for an extended period, remove the battery, or the flashlight could be damaged by electrolyte leakage or battery explosion.
  • Unscrew the tail cap one-half turn or take out the battery to prevent accidental activation during storage or transportation.
  • Long-term use can result in O-ring wear. To maintain a proper water seal, replace the ring with an approved spare.
  • Periodic cleaning of the battery contacts improves the flashlight’s performance as dirty contacts may cause the flashlight to flicker, shine intermittently or even fail to illuminate for the following reasons:

Reason A: The batteries need replacing.
Solution: Replace batteries (Please confirm the correct installation of anode and cathode).

Reason B: The threads, PCB board contact or other contacts are dirty.
Solution: Clean the contact points with a cotton swab soaked in rubbing alcohol.

If the above methods don’t work, please refer to the warranty policy before contacting your authorized distributor.

I can state that this is a very powerful flashlight and it is perfect for when my wife takes our dog for a walk. Even though our dog is a Siberian Husky and weighs 118LBS, he likes to follow the beam when she has it pointed ahead.

Awesome as always. Wish you would continue to carry this model..

Light needs a different method of switching between modes. When pressing it with the momentary on the pressure pad, i end up cycling between modes, when i dont mean to.

Perfect balance of power, size, quality and price. Like it so much I bought a second one.

Excellent product. I purchased this model as a pack light. I needed a light that wouldn’t take up much room in my hunting pack, but would also be bright enough to blood trail animals at night. I finally got the opportunity to put this light to the test on a blood trail at night, and it performed better than I expected. It lit up the trail like it was daylight on the medium setting, and never dimmed even slightly. Needless to say I’m absolutely in love with this light. Very bright, unbelievable throw distance, and built solid.

I’m a Chief power engineer by trade in charge of a large post secondary polytec. I need a good light for anything from identifying problems at close to long range, to security and related issues. This light is awesome. It starts out high, which comes in very handy when on security detail, and is easy to tune down to low for close up work on equipment. Compact with a very good throw and beam pattern, this is my EDC of choice. Had a break & enter awhile back, was the first on scene when the police showed up. They shone their light on me, I shone mine back and it actually blinded them momentarily. They both asked “what the he** was that and where do we get one?”.

I bought this light in September & it’s by far the most well built all around tactical or everyday i.e. car light edc light in a coat pocket & while not a primary defensive tool I found myself dropping this into my pocket that I had my hand in as opposed to my concealed carry gun..This is an awesome light for the size/weight & I’m only annoyed that I didn’t paint it orange as it is missing one key feature; a pocket clip..So I used a lanyard & I’ll be ordering another one as it was lost hunting this past weekend…The guys at Fenix-lighting are the epitome of professionalism..I’m bad with names but the two people I spoke to, one guy was in service & the salesman really took the time to educate me & I’ve purchased approx. 5-6 lights from them..I researched the competitors & honestly don’t see the need to try a different brand. I do over analyze but their products are as good as anything I’ve seen & their customer service is second to none..

Used it very frequently throughout two hunting seasons so far. Very high quality light and it is really bright on high. Would purchase again!

I think this could be an amazing amazing light but its got a few shortcomings. Honestly the product itself is probably 4 stars. i dinged another two for the fact ive emailed fenix 2 times and never heard back. Ok the light itself has great throw, and awesome hotspot and is a great compact package. I work as a Corrections Officer and my gear can take a beating. This light has yet to fail. My only issue is the mode programming. All the specs say that when the switch is pressed it will come on in high. in order to cycle modes you must turn the light off (or half press) and with in 1 second depress the switch again to get to the next mode if not, it will come on again in high mode…. well my tk09 is more like 7 seconds. IE I turn the light on and enter high mode, i then turn it off and have to wait almost a full 10 seconds before it will reset back to high. now sure i could cycle through all the modes to hit high again but its semi annoying, especially in a “tactical situation”. idk if my light is defective or if its normal and the instructions are wrong. either way i like the light, it falls just short of perfect. the CS from fenix though has me looking to pick up a different light for work.
