Operating Instructions
Two tail cap switches include the large button (power switch) and the small button (mode switch).

Press the power switch lightly to momentarily activate the flashlight. Press the power switch completely to turn on the flashlight and lock it. Another press will unlock and turn it off.

With the flashlight on, A single press on the mode switch allows switching between Turbo→Low→Mid→High→brightness levels;

To enter into Strobe mode, simply press and hold the mode switch for about one second.

To enter into SOS mode, press and hold the mode switch for about three seconds.

To return to the non-flashing mode when in Strobe or SOS mode, press the mode switch once.

While in the general mode, LD41 memorizes the brightness level. When turned off and then on again, the flashlight automatically enters the general mode.

Overheating protection: LD41 will accumulate a great deal of heat when working in the turbo brightness level for a long time. To avoid overheating the flashlight, LD41 will downshift from TURBO to HIGH after 25 minutes of use. If TURBO is needed for extended periods, simply reset it, recognizing heat build-up is probable.

Battery Replacement
Unscrew the light head to take out the battery holder. Insert the batteries correctly according to the signs at the bottom of the battery cassette. Put the battery holder into the tube with the round side of the battery holder toward the light head and the groove in the side toward the raised place in the inner wall of the tube. Screw the light head back on to test.

Usage and Maintenance

  • Please don’t disassemble the sealed head as doing so can cause damage to the flashlight and will void the warranty.
  • The circuit is programmed with a low-voltage protection function. If low voltage is detected, it will enter into the lower brightness level. If low voltage is detected in the Low brightness level, it will blink three times a second every 5 minutes. To allow normal use, LD41 will not turn off automatically and will continue to work until the batteries are depleted.
  • To get the most from this LD41, Fenix recommends using high-performance Ni-MH rechargeable batteries. Alkaline batteries will reduce runtimes significantly.
  • If the flashlight is not to be used for an extended period, remove the batteries as the flashlight could be damaged by electrolyte leakage or battery explosion.
  • To avoid accidental activation, remove the batteries before packing and transporting the LD41.
  • Long-term use can result in O-ring wear. To maintain a proper water seal, replace the ring with an approved spare.
  • Periodic cleaning of the battery contacts improves the flashlight’s performance as dirty contacts may cause the LD41to flicker, shine intermittently or even fail to illuminate for the following reasons:
Reason A: The batteries need replacing.
Solution: Replace batteries (Please confirm the correct installation of anode and cathode).
Reason B: The threads, PCB board contact or other contacts are dirty.
Solution: Clean the contact points with a cotton swab soaked in rubbing alcohol.

If the above methods don’t work, please refer to the warranty policy before contacting your authorized distributor.

Notice: The routine cleaning video can be watched and downloaded through Fenix official website, please log onto the service channel->“maintenance for light”.

Warning
LD41 is a high-intensity lighting device capable of causing eye damage to the user or others, so please avoid shining the light directly into anyone’s eyes.

Incredible light from AA batteries. I use it at work, bounces, pounds, scrapes, pries and works every time I push the buttons.

I do a lot of tracing of overhead pipes and needed a reliable flashlight with a beam that can cut through the dark. I have tried several handheld flashlights but they didn’t hold up to the use or have a strong enough beam. I could not trust the other flashlights that I had and would carry 2 flashlights incase one failed while in the dark. One of my coworkers bought a FENIX LD41 and I was impressed by the amount of light and the strength of the beam it produced. I purchase one right away and this was 4 years ago. It has been used hard and has held up to everything including a drop off a scaffolding. Several other people that I work with after see the flashlight bought one, I even bought one for home. The flashlight is able to be used with standard AA or rechargeable batteries which is a plus. I would highly recommend this flashlight for home or work use.

This is my second LIFE flashlight. I had another Fenix that was stolen :(. I decided to buy the best flashlight that can be operated with AA batteries (that can be easy bought anywhere or you can use rechargeable).
I have had this flashlight for, at least, 6 years. The holster works just as good as the first day. The quality of the flashlight is still incredible. It came with extra rubber buttons, that I still never needed.
I feel that this will be my last flashlight, unless someone steels it.

Great flashlight, great performance but the holster SUCKS. My holster stitching came apart after 1 month and will no longer secure to my belt. Holster quality has gone down over the years and I have sent a complaint to the customer service department. Hopefully they make good on it!

My team does adventure races that can last from 6 -72 hours and this is my go to light when all else fails. It uses standard AA batteries which are easy to find, it is waterproof, and will light up the night. It has yet to fail me and I’ve had it for over a year now (I wish I could say the same for the HL21 headlamps we bought). This light is a great choice. -David (www.teamdisoriented.com)

If you are looking for a light that uses AA batteries, has excellent light output and function, and lights up anything 200 feet to up close, the LD41 deserves serious consideration.

The flashlight is really great. AA sized batteries ( got lots of good accumulators and charger ). Bright, Ergonomic. Quite light for the brightness.

The only thing I’m unhappy with is that there is no standard diffuser tip to use it at camping base. I really hope to see it soon. Hand-made thing is not that cool as Fenix makes for other models.

I purchased two of these lights primarily for the powerful strobe feature to be used on my bike. The strobe is highly visible at great distances and makes my bike more visible to motorists. Also does an excellent job as a headlight. I am very satisfied with my purchases.
