INTELLIGENT MEMORY CIRCUIT

The light memorizes the last selected output excluding strobe. When turned on again the previously used output will be recalled.

INTELLIGENT OVERHEAT PROTECTION

The light will accumulate a lot of heat when used on Turbo for extended periods. When the light reaches a temperature of 65℃ or above, the light will automatically step down a few lumens to reduce the temperature. When the temperature drops below 65°C, it will then allow the user for the reselection of Turbo mode.

BATTERY REPLACEMENT

Unscrew the light head to insert the allowed Fenix battery regardless of polarity marks (reverse polarity protection of battery), and then screw the light head back on.

CHARGING

Operation: When charging is needed, remove the dust cover to reveal the charging port in the light tail, and connect the light to the power source with the USB Type-C charging cable.

Indication: The indicators on the light tail will flash in an incremental way to indicate charging status. Four indicators will remain constant on when the battery is fully charged.

ACTING AS A POWER BANK

Plug the USB A socket of charging cable to the USB A socket of the light, and the other side of the charging cable to any digital device. The indicators on the light tail will flash in a descending way to display discharging status when discharging begins.

Note:

  1. Once charging is completed, be sure to remove the charging cable and push the dust cover back to protect the charging port from dust and foreign objects.
  2. Recharge a stored light every four months to maintain optimal battery performance.
  3. The light can be turned on Low of tail light when it is in charging process.
  4. Any output can be used when the light is in discharging process.

USAGE AND MAINTENANCE

  • Disassembling the sealed head can cause damage to the light and will void the warranty.
  • Lock the light or unscrew the light head half a turn to prevent accidental activation during storage or transportation.
  • Long-term use can result in O-ring wear. To maintain a proper water seal, replace the ring with an approved spare.
  • Periodic cleaning of the battery contacts improves the light’s performance as dirty contacts may cause the lamp to flicker, shine intermittently or even fail to illuminate for the following reasons:
    A: The battery needs replacing.
Solution: Replace battery pack/battery (Ensure battery is inserted according to the manufacturer’s specifications).
B: The threads, PCB board contact or other contacts are dirty.
Solution: Clean the contact points with a cotton swab soaked in rubbing alcohol.

If the above methods don't work, please contact your authorized distributor.

I have to respectfully disagree with the other review, other than the fact that the copper button is hard to find. It should be in-line with the handle so one can find it easier.

However, the form factor of this light is great. If you have a dog or live on a farm, being able to see below you and look ahead at the same time is invaluable when it comes to not stepping in something that will result in a very disgusting clean up of the bottom of a shoe afterwards.

The rings on the handle are removable and the handle is great with gloves on, too. I wanted this light ever since I first saw it and I use it all the time.

BTW the taillight on this setting lasts 116 hours. Awesome for camping, too, and flawless build quality.

Missed opportunity and form over function.

An absolutely beautiful light in design and finish, but at the expense of function. Most notably is the flush button on the rear of the light that is used for the auxiliary light. Trying to operate this at night in the dark is almost futile and near impossible with thick gloves on. The button really feels like an afterthought. It's copper which matches nothing else on the light and it's off-center. I also didn't like the split-ring placement at the tip of the handle which gets in the way of the thumb switch. My last complaint is I really felt this was a missed opportunity as a dual use light with the main beam being so floody. I really expected a more focused beam because the auxiliary light works surprisingly well as a flooder and is brighter than I imagined. The main light has a nice deep reflector but it appears the throw it creates is more from sheer lumen power than a focused beam. This might be exactly what someone would want from this light, but having a 2 floody beams seems a waste to me.

The things I do like is the feel and form of the light. It drew me in from the first time I saw it and it's even nicer in the hand. Fit and finish is flawless as is to be expected from Fenix and also from the hefty price tag. The ability to charge USB devices from the light is also very handy and welcome.

While some may want and like the beam on this light, I would love to see a secondary head option to make this a true thrower/search light with the auxiliary light giving plenty of flood. Not sad I bought it, but far from thrilled.
