I work midnight shift at a water plant and this is the first flashlight I’ve owned to survive long enough to celebrate it’s first birthday in use. I have been buying flashlights in the $100-200 range for the last decade. The longest prior survival was 9 months. My TK47UE is now past 20 months with no failures. And it’s constantly getting wet, exposed to caustic and acidic chemicals, dropped, slammed around, and even occasional use as a light duty hammer. Glass lens is not only unbroken, but unscratched as far as I can tell. Switch still works flawlessly, although I do wish there was a bit more difference between long press for off and longer for strobe. The tail light is the biggest benefit for me just walking around doing my duties since the plant is outside with few lights once away from buildings.. I like it so much that I am getting another just in case this one breaks, although the way it’s going that may be money wasted on something that’s never needed because this one is still going strong.

The light worked well for a few months of very light use but now it wont stay on. It turns on but after a few seconds it shuts off on its own. It also shuts off when I use the strobe mode. Hopefully its only the tail switch. I have 3 other Fenix lights with zero problems and im purchasing another soon. I think this is just a one off thing. Expected to happen when you sell so many lights. Still like my Fenix lights.

Hi Ryan – it’s my understanding that you are already working with warranty on this.

The only thing I would add or change about this model is I would somehow make the main power button easier to find in the dark, maybe a sandpaper texture or a glow in the dark button. Also I have seen other models are able to charge via usb cable, that functionality would be useful. Other than that, thanks for a great flashlight!

I’ve been running this light for just under a year now. It has an amazing beam with great throw. The illuminated tail cap gives a soft, diffused white light, as well as a steady and flashing red. Tail cap and main light are controlled individually. I’ve kept it in both fire apparatus and at home when I walk the dog. It’s a great all-around light. Except one thing. Now this may not be a big deal to some, but this is where I feel it lacks. The button on the side of the body is pretty slim lined. I find it almost impossible to use while using gloves. the buttons smooth texture makes passing over it with bare hands easy, and I find myself fumbling to turn it on. I’ve since used a dremel to rough up the button, which has helped a bit. I’d like to see a more defined button, be it texture or on a raised surface. But the controls aside, it’s a solid light that has served me well.

Bought one of these 9 months ago and overall I’m very happy with it. It’s got a satisfying, solid feel in the hand and puts out a good amount of light. The light output has a nice neutral shade of white without any noticeable blue and the batteries do not rattle within the body (18650s) . The tail lamp is handy when you loose power in the home so you don’t have to prop your torch up, just stand it on it’s front and turn the tail light on. I’ve had to use that feature a few times now unfortunately. Overall I would definitely recommend this torch, but please Fenix, at least give us the *option* to turn our torches on instantly with a press of the button rather than holding it. I can live with that “feature” because the rest of the light is so good, but I’m not a fan. Sometimes half a second is an eternity

    To whom it concerns:

I purchased the 3200 Fenix Flashlight bundle; my concern and complaint is your method of advertising the bundle is very misleading. The bundle shows two battries when in actuality there is only one. The irony is that the flashlight will not operate with one battery. So why advertise in this manner and then once your order is placed not aware that the bundle that clearly shows two batteries is only one; someone then calls you and sells you the second battery needed for $21.00 dollars extra. I will not do business with a company that use such tactics again. The money is not the issue I would have paid for the additional battery had it been included in the price of the bundle. When my fellow LEO ask where I got the light from I will not respond; I’m seriously thinking of returning the light and or give it away.

Got this flashlight to replace the TK75 as this light fits the straps better due to the narrower width. First thing, this light did not work with the ARB-L2 batteries that I had installed in my TK75 due to the fact that they do not have the slightly raised button top. After some greatly appreciated help from Colt in support, the light was working great. After a couple of nights of 24 duty with different people using it there have been no negative comments other than one cosmetic one. The thinner thickness of the barrel towards the tailcap promotes your hand to stay in an area where if you have smaller hands then your thumb does not instinctively rest near the control. Other than that, all of the comments have been great. This light is bright and does have more of a flood than single spot, which I really like and so did everyone else. Conducting security checks of very large buildings and being able to illuminate entire areas from a fixed point is extremely useful and this light fills that need with room to spare. Using the taillight “candle” in the enclosed interior of an aircraft doing maintenance provides the perfect amount of light needed for most tasks. This light is perfect for all of the tasks that I foresee me needing it for.

This light is amazing. Used it during a snowmobile trip to Yellowstone NP. I was not looking for a narrow beam and wanted to flood an area surrounding 4 sleds. Would definitely recommend this light.

Just bought this. It is very bright and works as designed but it does not have the long range capability of 400 meters as advertised on a clear dark night using 18650 3500 mAh Fenix rechargeable batteries. My TK47UE has an extremely wide flood that will not allow a long range spot. I think it’s the Cree XHP70 LED. I own many Fenix lights from the LD12, TK11, PD35s, etc. I bought this one hoping to really illuminate a human subject past 200 yards and beyond and this does not do that well for such a bright light.. Im sure if it could have a narrower beam it would do that but its a flood light or at least the one I have is. I may have to try the TK47 with the Cree XHP35. This was my first disappointment in 8 years with a Fenix Torch.
