Operation Instruction

ON/OFF
Press and hold the side switch for 0.5 seconds to turn ON/OFF the headlamp.

Output Selection
With the lamp on, click the switch to cycle through Turbo→Red light→Eco→Low→Mid→High.

Intelligent Memory Circuit
The headlamp remembers the last-used brightness level, the next time it is turned on, it will recall that previously used brightness level.

Battery Level Indicator
Click the switch when the lamp is off, the battery indicator will be on for three seconds:

  • White LED flashes: more than 70% remaining
  • White LED and two Red LEDs flash alternately: 30% – 70%
  • Two Red LEDs flash: less than 30% remaining.

Low-voltage Warning
With the lamp on, the two red LEDs will flash at 1Hz when battery capacity is less than 20%. If red constant-on is being used, then the two red LEDs will flash. If white light is being used, then the two red LEDs will flash along with the white light lit on. Please recharge the lamp or change battery ASAP when warning occurs.

Charging

  1. Plug the USB port of the charging cable into any USB power supplier, then uncover the anti-dust cap, plug the Micro USB port of the charging cable into the charging port of the headlamp.
  2. The two red LEDs will flash simultaneously at 0.5Hz when in charging process. The normal charging time of the Fenix ARB-L18-2600 18650 rechargeable Li-ion battery is about four hours. The two red LEDs will be constant-on when charging is completely done.
  3. Once charging is completed, be sure to plug the anti-dust cap covered.
  4. Please recharge a stored headlamp every four months to maintain optimum performance of the battery.

Battery Replacement
Unscrew the battery cap to insert the battery with the correct directions of the battery anode, screw the battery cap back on.

Headlamp Strap Assembling
Notice: The headlamp strap is factory default assembled.

  1. Slide the buckle to adjust the headband length as wanted size.
  2. First fasten the headband to the headlamp holder, and then attach the headband to the headlamp holder and top headband mount for additional stability.

Usage and Maintenance

  • Disassembling the sealed head can cause damage to the headlamp and will void the warranty.
  • Long-term use can result in O-ring wear. To maintain a proper water seal, replace the ring with an approved spare.
  • Periodic cleaning of the battery contacts improves the performance of the headlamp as dirty contacts may cause the headlamp to flicker, shine intermittently or even fail to illuminate for the following reasons:

Reason A: The batteries need replacing.
Solution: Replace batteries (Please confirm the correct installation of anode and cathode).

Reason B: The threads, PCB board contact or other contacts are dirty.
Solution: Clean the contact points with a cotton swab soaked in rubbing alcohol.

If the above methods don’t work, please refer to the warranty policy before contacting your authorized distributor.

Best headlamp I’ve ever owned. Well constructed, Incredibly bright and great battery life. It’s a bit heavier and more bulky than most headlamps, but that’s to be expected with a big 18650 battery. The only thing I don’t like are the red LEDs… They’re just not bright enough to be very useful. From backcountry skiing, big wall climbing, or long backpacking trips I don’t go anywhere without it.

I am impressed with the complete package of this headlamp. First I used it when I went fishing and the capability of adjusting the light level comes in handy. This feature helps with my eyes adjusting to the dark. I also use the headlamp for doing work around the house. Doing plumbing under the sink, changing light fixtures, and doing general things in low light areas of the house. This headlamp is great for working under the hood of my truck. The up and down adjustment works well.

Being able to charger the battery in the headlamp is another huge plus the this headlamp or any light. No carrying around a charging unit to to recharge the battery. How great is this!

This is an all around the best headlamp I have ever owned. So impressed, I got 2 more, one for work on my hard hat and the other one stays in my truck, just in case.

    :

I recently purchased the HL60R and I love it!! I use my headlamp on a daily basis at work and home. Working on helicopters can be a challenge since space is limited in most areas. That’s were the headlamp is a lifesaver. The HL60R allows me to use both my hands and still flood the area with enough light to see exactly what I need to. I remember working on aircraft before headlamps and the challenge then was propping the flashlight in an area that was out of the way and still afforded enough light. With my headlamp it is not even a thought. The rechargeable feature is also a plus. No need for an extra charger when I can simply plug the cable straight into the headlamp (and that’s just when you actually need to charge it.) The battery last an insanely long time for such a bright light. I can use it for an entire week before I need to charge it. This has been one of the best buys that I have made in my aviation career. Will definitely stay with Fenix for all my lighting needs.

Purchased this light about a month ago and fell in love with it once it arrived. The packaging was very nice in it’s own well printed box. Setting up the light was super easy and I was really surprised at how bright turbo mode is. On a side note, the beam output on turbo mode directly in front of the lens WILL burn you or anything that can light up. I tested the light by placing a paper in front of the light and the paper started smoking. This is NOT a flashlight defect it just indicates how intense the LED bulb is making it’s output. The light is excellently built with very high quality aluminum and it’s very nice looking. I have used it while lighting up a field to photograph an object and it’s just amazing that such a little device has so much candle power. The light also fits comfortable on your head and it also tilts up and down. One convenient feature is that the light can be charged via USB and the cable is not proprietary so if you do lose the original cable you can easily replace it without having to special ordering it. I highly recommend this light. The best LED light I have so far.

I am a New York City Actor/Comedian and ride along a poorly lit bike path along the Hudson River. There has been some attacks on bikers lately (Nov-2016). This light, on it’s own, lights up the path and would definitely blind the maggot scum that might seek to attack me.

I employ additional lighting as well on the handlebars to cook anyone’s eyeballs that might want some action. The Felix Headlamp allows me to look around, check for any scumbags hiding in the bushes. Love this lamp. I have it attached to my helmet via 15 lb Velcro. I recommend that over the headstrap.

It came with a Battery as well. Another lamp I bought from another company had no batteries. I truly like this light. Might consider getting a portable recharger to stick that on my helmet so that I can double / triple the duration. No complaints, love this light.

    (verified owner):

I’ve had mine for almost a year now. I agree with Mike Morrison’s comments so won’t repeat them. The quality is Fenix, one of my favorite headlamps. The base allows positioning the lamp on a table or counter, and with a convex mirror, allows one to easily remove an eyelash or foreign object from the the eye by using a lower level and offsetting the light from the mirror so you are not looking directly at the light. Fantastic.

Just one questions . . . on the rear of the head band is a plastic bracket for the top strap. Also on the rear of that bracket are two plastic “prongs”, I am sure are for snapping something into – I just have no idea what they are used for?? Anyone?

    • :

Thank you for the comment John. Regarding the plastic prongs, it is for headlamps that require a cord. HL60R doesn’t require a cord, but we use the same headband and plastic bracket for each headlamp regardless of cord or cordless. I hope this answers your question.

Fantastic Headlamp is a Home Run.
I just got this in last night.
Outstanding headlamp! Much better then I was expecting (and the bar is very high with Fenix).
Some notes. I own many fenix and some nitecore flashlights.. This is a “must have” homerun that instantly obsoletes my other headlamps. This is NOT a oh cool trophy collectible item.. this my freinds is a “GOTO” workhorse item that won’t be collecting dust as a shelf queen..

1-The Beam Is ideal. I wouldn’t change a thing. The Hotspot is HUGE. And the orange peal reflector makes a very smooth and large transition region to spill. The Spill has a very wide coverage area.. wider then a pd35.. making this the perfect for close up hand on work.. Yet bright enough @ 960 lumens it can easily throw hundreds of feet.

2- Five Neutral LED Brightness settings + a sixth for night LED lights. Very nice brightness step separation and run times and the 960 Turbo is a true full time mode not a momentary burst.

3- Uses a True Neutral color LED which shows more accurate colors… esp in better reds, yellows, greens. It has an amazing color rendering ability.

4- Multi Use light. You can use red or eco for night light, you can use brightness 2,3 for close up hands free work..and can use brightness 4,5 for long distance hiking or light up entire room. You can take it off your head and the holder becomes a stable stand that lets you set it down then aim it (with large 160 degree radius) for use as a fixed work light.

5- Very Rugid all aluminum housing and a contoured ratcheting holder. the holder is arc contoured perfectly to hug your forehead and the strap provides built in cushioning. The strap is a very high quality thick soft elastic banding. They also provide an optional top Strap that goes over the top of your head/helmet.. this can be taken on/off easily.

6-Has a built in recharger with micro usb port- you can recharge it with just a usb cord without having to take out the removable/rechargeable 18650 battery… and the built in charger port is waterproof even without the dustcap. Other headlamps like nitecore are not waterproof if the dustcap is removed.

7- Weight while obviously not as light as an el-cheapo plastic headlamp, it is still light enough not be a burden.. and having the SINGLE body design makes it low profile and easy to just throw on and go. I Love having a simple single body design you can just throw one with nothing sticking out to snag or dig into your head.. I have had other headlamps that required secondary battery packs that go either in the back of your head or separate pocket holder.. Problem with those is they snag when you have to crawl around in a crawlspace.. This is why this Single Body low profile construction is Ideal.. The profile is slim and wide so it won’t protrude or snag..

8- LOVE having the led/red led flash to give you a signal for battery life (high, medium, low life remaining).. nice built in feature most lights don’t have..

9- RUNTIME!! This rechargeable 18650 model will run for 13 hours @150 lumens.. compared to a rechargeable AA model will only run for 2 hours @ 150 lumens.. That’s a HUGE difference and justifies the slight increase in weight over the smaller AA model.. And also this can go 960 lumens where the AA models top out at 150 lumens..

10-Fenix construction.. Very high grade components and engineering.. Also prefer this Center Light design vs. most other 18650 single body headlamps use an end of body light that offsets the light. Also Details like the Dual Spring in Battery tray make this a premium product you can hand down to your kids..

Summary.. an absolute home run and one of the “you must have it” type items that will be your GOTO light.. not a shelf queen.. Does it right on EVERY level and detail you want.. you can use it on your head or as a work light or off your head as an adjustable work light you can easily aim.. Built like a fenix (a tank) and low profile single body low profile construction that won’t snag on anything and light enough to wear for long times..

Negatives: Really none.. Perhaps the reds could be a little brighter.. the Red LEDS are more for Night Eyes close in work not for lighting up a trail.. not a big negative and if you are Really trying to preserve your night vision could be considered a positive not a negative..
