Originally from Michigan, I moved to Interior Alaska in 2000 chasing a dream of working with sled dogs and living off the land. For the past two years, I have built up several teams of Alaskan Huskies and and finished the worlds two longest and toughest sled dog races, the Iditarod and Yukon Quest.
My current team is compromised of 32 dogs that my wife, Emily, and I train and care for year round. We run a summer tour business near Denali National Park where we teach visitors about our lifestyle with the dogs and living off-grid.
During winter, aside from training for races, we guide tours and go on expedition style camping trips with the dogs.
