There are two push-button switches on the side of the light‘s head. The big one with a power source mark is the power switch, and the small one with a loop mark is the mode switch.

Turning RC15 on/off
A single press on the power switch will turn the light on/off.

Selecting Output
With the flashlight on, a single press on the mode switch will select the brightness level in the order of Turbo→Low→Mid→High brightness levels.

Strobe Mode
When the flashlight is on, press and hold the mode switch for one second to enter into Strobe mode. It will flash between 6Hz and 15Hz every two seconds. A single press on the mode switch will return the flashlight to the general mode.

With the flashlight off, press and hold the mode switch for one second will enter into strobe mode momentarily till the mode switch is released

Lock the Flashlight to Prevent Accidental Operation
Turn on the flashlight and hold the power switch for two seconds, the flashlight will blink twice and turn off to signal that the flashlight is locked. To unlock the flashlight, just double click the power switch.

Intelligent Memory Circuit
The flashlight memorizes the last brightness level used in the general mode, but it will not remember any flashing modes (some models may not have flashing modes). The next time you turn on the flashlight, it will light up at the last used general mode.

Over-heat Protection:
RC15 will accumulate a lot of heat when it is working in Turbo output. When overheating is detected, the flashlight will automatically drop down into the high brightness level. You can reset the flashlight to Turbo output again when the temperature drops.

Low-voltage Warning Function
When the voltage level drops below the preset level, the flashlight will downshift to a lower brightness level. When it happens in low output mode, the flashlight will blink three times every five minutes to remind you to recharge the flashlight.

Over-discharge Protection
When the battery voltage is extremely low, the flashlight will turn off automatically to protect the battery from over-discharge.

When the charging cradle is plugged into a household outlet, the indicator light will turn green. Put the flashlight into the charger cradle and rotate it until it clicks into position. The indicator light will now turn red to indicate charging has begun. When the indicator light returns to green, the charging cycle has been completed. The normal charging time is about 3 hours.

  1. Please do not charge the flashlight when it is turned on. Doing so will extend the charging time and may cause the battery to be not fully charged. However If emergency lighting is needed, it will still be okay to charge the flashlight when it is turned on. Due to the output protection function, RC15 can not enter into the Turbo in this case.
  2. Please recharge a stored RC15 every four months to maintain optimum performance of the battery.

Usage and Maintenance

  • Please don’t disassemble the sealed head, as doing so can cause damage to the flashlight and will void the warranty.
  • The o-ring may be worn out after using for a long time. If it happens, please replace the o-ring with a new one to keep the flashlight properly sealed against water.
  • Periodic cleaning of the battery contacts improves the flashlight’s performance as dirty contacts may cause the flashlight to flicker, shine intermittently or even fail to illuminate for the following reasons:
Reason A: The battery lacks power.
    Solution: Recharge the flashlight.
Reason B: The threads, PCB board contact or other contacts are dirty.
Solution: Clean the contact points with a cotton swab soaked in rubbing alcohol.

If the above methods do not work, please refer to the warranty policy before contacting your authorized distributor.

Notice: The routine cleaning video can be watched and downloaded through the Fenix website by clicking on the RC series followed by the maintenance tab.

RC15 is a high-intensity lighting device capable of causing eye damage to the user or others. Avoid shining the light directly into anyone’s eyes.

This is the second of these lights I have purchased. When I returned home from a trip, (5/5/2019) I opened the box, turned on the light, and It worked. When I tried it again, it will not power on.. Nor will it charge, the charger shows green. Can this be returned for replacement?

Two things bug me about flashlights, If you bump it slightly, it goes off. The other is if you set it down for a while it goes off.
This light does neither. If you’re really in the dark, you don’ t want to have to hit it until it comes back on.

I’m a big fan of Fenix quality as I have 4 other flashlights built buy them that have satisfied me for many years. These are my first recharable lights, I’m very happy with the results, I’m mainly using mine at work, I built and inspect the military jet engine’s for the Boing F18 Super Hornet aircraft, these engines have thousands of parts, and a light this good gives me confidence that my final inspection leaves nothing unseen, and the best quality product can then go to our customers.

Love this flashlight I mounted the cradle in my van and truck. I’m a home inspector so this gets used 300 days of the year. I have 3 one as a backup the other mounted in the truck. The awesome Thing about the cradle is I plug it in at the end of the day and its ready and charged the next day ready to go. I bought mine 5 years ago with little issues.

I like this light ‘kinda’. Nice light. Good ‘hand’ sized. Good beam. Nice hot spot, with good spill. 4 output levels, with strobe. BUT, it has to be charged in its cradle. The battery can not be charged in a usual battery charger (outside of the flashlight). It’s a strange size battery. A regular 18650 battery will not work. And it comes with only one cradle. And two power cables, wall and car cigarette lighter. So, for someone like me that wanted to have it mounted in my car, it’s not worth it. I often drive only 20-ish minutes at a time a couple of times a day. And use it about 15-20 minutes a day. So it never really gets a full charge. Today I just realized all of this, when I went to take the battery out and put it on my battery charger. So disappointed. I was really liking this light. So, with all that in mind, if you think you can work within those parameters, it ‘might ‘ be worth it.

*The light has both spot and flood characteristics. This is useful.
*Great design – the anti-roll characteristic is great
*The different modes are easily accessed>
    * I don’t like the size battery used, since is not the same as other batteries I use.
*I thought there were 2 independent chargers. There is only one cradle. Therefore it can’t be mounted in the car and used in the house.

*The RC15 is easily switched from one function to the next.
*The beam is what is needed. It has both spot and flood characteristics
    *The anti-roll design is great.
*I don’t like the battery used. It doesn’t match other batteries I have.
    * I didn’t read the advertisement well. I thought there were seperate in house and car charging cradles. There was is one cradle with two different attachments. Therefore the cradle could not be mounted in the vehicle and used in the house.

Great flashlight when it works. I’ve had to send 2 fenix flashlights back for repair. Need to send another back after it broke again within 1 day.

Fantastic flashlight! Very bright and portable. Easy to charge and stays charged for weeks if you don’t always use turbo mode. I like the side switch controls. I also have the Fenix lights HL23 and LD11. I’m a Fenix fan.

Fenix RC15 Flashlight Review

I absolutely love Fenix RC15 Flashlight. As a professional sanitation worker, it works under extremely abusive conditions. In -40°F to 425°F it continues to work as hard as I do untill the job is finished. I couldnt ask for a more reliable flashlight at work. At home the temperatures may not be as extreme, but…
