Product Overview

The Fenix LR80R Rechargeable Flashlight is Fenix’s brightest flashlight, blasting an amazing 18,000 lumens of light 3,707 feet—that’s a distance of over 12 football fields. Dual switches operate two different operating modes. Low-Output (L) mode operates low range lumen output, plus strobe and SOS. The High-Output mode (H) operates just the brightest lumen levels. The built-in battery can be fully charged in less than 4 hours via its 45W USB Type-C charging port. The handle can be removed to meet various lighting demands. The Fenix LR80R includes an Intelligent Downshifting Sensor, which reduces the brightness when the flashlight’s head is too close to an object. This helps avoid accidents due to excessive heat. Durable, dustproof and submersible to 2m, the Fenix LR80R is one heavy-duty tool for lighting up the night.

Intelligent Brightness Downshifting Sensor

The flashlight has a built-in intelligent sensing circuit. When the light head is close to an illuminated object (about 60mm) for more than 1.5 seconds, the flashlight will automatically downshift the brightness level to Eco to avoid danger caused by high temperature. When the light head is away from the illuminated object for more than 0.8 seconds, the flashlight automatically recalls the previously used output level.

*As objects of different materials and colors reflect differently to light, there may be slight deviations in the sensing distance.

*Due to the principle of infrared sensing, it is normal for the flashlight to automatically downshift to Eco mode when being used under strong sunlight.

As of Oct. 2022
Turning on/off Intelligent Brightness Downshifting Sensor

  • On: With the light unlocked and switched off, press and hold the right switch over 10 seconds, the light will flash once and then will constantly light up at the previously used mode, indicating the sensor function is abled.
  • Off: With the light unlocked and switched off, press and hold the right switch over 10 seconds, the light will flash twice and then will constantly light up at the previously used mode, indicating the sensor function is disabled.
  • The sensor function is factory set to ON.

Intelligent Overheat Protection

The light will accumulate a lot of heat when used at high-output mode for extended periods. When the light reaches a temperature of 60°C or above, the light will automatically step down a few lumens to reduce the temperature. When the temperature drops below 60°C, it will then allow the user for the reselection of the mode.

Low-voltage Warning on the Fenix LR80R

  • Working at high-output mode, when the voltage level drops below the preset level, the flashlight is programmed to downshift to a lower brightness level until Low output of high-output mode is reached. When this happens in Low output mode, the flashlight will automatically downshift to High output of low-output mode.
  • Working at low-output mode, when the voltage level drops below the preset level, the flashlight is programmed to downshift to a lower brightness level until Eco output is reached. When this happens in Eco output mode, the leftmost battery level indicator constantly blinks blue to remind you to timely recharge the battery.

Usage and Maintenance

  • Disassembling the sealed head can cause damage to the light and will void the warranty.
  • Lock the light to prevent accidental activation during storage or transportation. Recharge a stored battery every four months to maintain optimal battery performance.
  • Long-term use can result in O-ring wear. To maintain a proper water seal, replace the ring with an approved spare.
  • Periodic cleaning of the battery contacts improves the light's performance as dirty contacts may cause the light to flicker, shine intermittently or even fail to illuminate for the following reasons: A: Poor battery level. Solution: Recharge battery. B: The threads, PCB board contact or other contacts are dirty. Solution: Clean the contact points with a cotton swab soaked in rubbing alcohol.

If the above methods don't work, please contact your authorized distributor.

unbelievable quality

My expectations were set very high based off the price alone I paid for this light. It is basically the power of the sun in the hand. The light is so bright, I have to turn it down so as to not wash everything out.

Excellent Quality flashlight that you can probably see from space

This flashlight was an anniversary gift for my husband. We live in the country and have a lot of predators at night. We needed a bright light to check on our sheep. It is the BRIGHTEST flashlight I have ever seen. It could compete with the Luxor Las Vegas beam. I would buy it again. :)

So far, so good. LR80R lives up to the claims. I love to light up my yard and see all the glowing eyes in the distant bushes and trees. It does heat up quickly so be careful.
