Intelligent Memory Circuit
The light memorizes the last selected brightness level on general mode. When turned on again the previously used brightness level will be recalled.
Overheat Protection
The light will accumulate a lot of heat when used on Turbo output level for extended periods. The light will automatically step down by a few lumens to reduce temperature. When the temperature is reduced, the Turbo output level can be reselected.
Low-voltage Warning
When the voltage level drops below the preset level, the flashlight is programmed to downshift to a lower brightness level until Low output is reached. When this happens in Low output mode, the flashlight blinks three times every five minutes to remind you to replace the battery. To ensure normal use, the flashlight will not turn off automatically and will work till the battery protection activates. Note: This only works with 16340 Li-ion battery.
Battery Replacement
Unscrew the tail cap to insert the battery with the anode side (+) towards the light head, then screw the light head back on.
Usage and Maintenance
- Disassembling the sealed head can cause damage to the light and will void the warranty.
- Fenix recommends using an excellent quality battery.
- If the light will not be used for an extended period, remove the battery, or the light could be damaged by electrolyte leakage or battery explosion.
- Lock the light or take out the battery to prevent accidental activation during storage or transportation. Recharge a stored battery every four months to maintain optimal battery performance.
- Long-term use can result in O-ring wear. To maintain a proper water seal, replace the ring with an approved spare.
- Periodic cleaning of the battery contacts improves the lamp’s performance as dirty contacts may cause the lamp to flicker, shine intermittently or even fail to illuminate for the following reasons:
A: The battery needs replacing.
Solution: Replace battery (Ensure battery is inserted according to the manufacturer’s specifications).
B: The threads, PCB board contact or other contacts are dirty.
Solution: Clean the contact points with a cotton swab soaked in rubbing alcohol.
If the above methods don’t work, please contact your authorized distributor.

Great EDC light!

Love it! Use it everyday. Always have it in my pocket. People are always amazed at the amount of light it throws out! I quit using my phone as a flashlight, this is so much better and more convenient. I have seen complaints in reviews about it turning on in pockets and such, yes it can do that, unless you lock it like the instructions say to. Locking it is quick and easy, so if someone has a problem with that, it is due to operator error not the light itself.

I mostly run rechargeable batteries in this flashlight, but it’s nice that I can also use disposables. (Note that the high-beam setting will not be as bright if you use a CR123 instead of a 16340, but the other settings are the same.)
The light output is noticeably ‘warmer’ than my larger PD35, and the beam doesn’t ‘throw’ as far. No big surprise, as it’s a much smaller flashlight. It’s fine for around the house or in the car, or as a backup in an outdoor setting.
The magnetic base is proving to be more useful than I thought it would be. Some older reviews said the magnet wasn’t strong enough to hold against a vertical surface, but mine stays in place when I stick it against even painted metal.
The detachable bi-directional clip is strong enough to hold it steady on a pocket or the cuff of a long-sleeve shirt, but the outer loop is a bit thin to fully seat on the bill of a baseball cap, and I do notice the weight pressing against my forehead when I use it this way.
The lockout feature was disabled once when the flashlight was in a pocket with other stuff. The switch probably bumped twice against the handle of my pocket knife. For carry, you want to use the clip to position it so it’s not in contact with anything else.
