Physical Lockout Function

Intelligent Memory Circuit

The light memorizes the last selected brightness level on general mode. When turned on again the previously used brightness level will be recalled.

Overheat Protection

The light will accumulate a lot of heat when used on Turbo output level for extended periods. The light will automatically step down by a few lumens to reduce temperature. When the temperature is reduced, the Turbo output level can be reselected.

Low-voltage Warning

When the voltage level drops below the preset level, the flashlight is programmed to downshift to a lower brightness level until Low output is reached. When this happens in Low output mode, the flashlight blinks three times every five minutes to remind you to replace the battery. To ensure normal use, the flashlight will not turn off automatically and will work till the battery protection activates. Note: This only works with 16340 Li-ion battery.

Battery Replacement

Unscrew the tail cap to insert the battery with the anode side (+) towards the light head, then screw the light head back on.

Usage and Maintenance

  • Disassembling the sealed head can cause damage to the light and will void the warranty.
  • Fenix recommends using an excellent quality battery.
  • If the light will not be used for an extended period, remove the battery, or the light could be damaged by electrolyte leakage or battery explosion.
  • Lock the light or take out the battery to prevent accidental activation during storage or transportation. Recharge a stored battery every four months to maintain optimal battery performance.
  • Long-term use can result in O-ring wear. To maintain a proper water seal, replace the ring with an approved spare.
  • Periodic cleaning of the battery contacts improves the lamp’s performance as dirty contacts may cause the lamp to flicker, shine intermittently or even fail to illuminate for the following reasons:
    A: The battery needs replacing.
Solution: Replace battery (Ensure battery is inserted according to the manufacturer’s specifications).
B: The threads, PCB board contact or other contacts are dirty.
Solution: Clean the contact points with a cotton swab soaked in rubbing alcohol.

If the above methods don’t work, please contact your authorized distributor.

This is a nice light. The main issue I have so far, is having it turn on in my pocket. I lock it and slide the clip over the button. I only notice when I’m in pain from the heat. The button on this and the lock mechanism just don’t cut it for a keychain pocket carry! I should have bought the same Fenix light I had before with the twist activation instead! Battery dies very fast in turbo mode also.

It is a powerful little light and the reversible clip and magnet back-end have come to be useful more times that I thought. I can not attest to the accuracy of the lumen rating or foot candles (it’s damn bright). My only issue thus far is, in the dark, the button is incredibly hard to find. A rounded rubber would have saved me a bit of time fumbling in the dark.

This light has great potential, but it has two strong drawbacks. First, the light gets hot, very hot at turbo setting. It gets so hot that one cannot hold it. The second drawback for me is that the emitted light is extremely warm, literally yellow in temperature. I own many flashlights but this is the warmest (color temperature) output of any I own by mile. The light output is displeasing in my opinion. On the positive side, I believe the output on turbo mode is genuinely 700 lumens. It is also well machined and has a feel of quality.

It is hard to find the on/off button in the dark when you need the light.

Nice light, compact. However, the attachment point for a key ring is on the inner part of the middle of the clip, making it very difficult to slip on a key ring. Suggest redesign so that the key ring eyelet is on the outer side of the clip, at the rear of the light. This would facilitate easy fastening/attaching of a key ring and make the light more ergonomic. Also, the device does get quite warm in operation on the bright setting. A heat sink/dissipated would be a good design addition.
