Fenix E20 V2
The Fenix E20 V2 made me a believer of AA lights. I’ve used the RC05 SE and it’s a convenient little light but there is such thing as too small. The E20 is the perfect length/handful but so thin that you don’t notice it in your pocket. I’ve been using it since its release and I’m still on the original batteries that it came with. When those go, it will be fueled by Eneloop Pros that Fenix recommends for best performance. (Not necessarily Pros but NiMh batteries). I have compared this light to the Olight i5T which in my opinion is going to be one of the biggest competitors in the size and price range. The beam on the E20 throws much farther and is beautifully smooth, the tint is on the cooler side but does not look like cheap Amazon lights that have the blue/purple shade. The pocket clip on the E20 is rock solid and clips nicely anywhere. If I’m wearing jeans it’s in my fifth pocket, shorts in my right pocket where a knife would be and anything else it’s clipped in my waist band. This goes back to the thin diameter of the light. I would not change anything about this light, not even the output. I have dozens of lights , some well over 3,000 lumens and let me tell you, lumens don’t mean anything. I find myself using 50-200 lumens more than anything else and when I need to reach out there, the throw of the E20 V2 on high at 350 lumens is plenty for any EDC task. I highly recommend this light for anything that wants an EDC light and doesn’t want to break the bank. Plus, AAs are cheap and readily available.
