Review of the Fenix TK16 V2.0 Tactical Flashlight

Ambassador John E.

This is a tactical flashlight that can project up to 3100 lumen. It is about 5.75 inches in length and about an 1 inch in diameter, which makes it pocket size. I have found that I usually carry it in my jacket pocket.

I recently used the flashlight during an assignment at our church to perform security checks for 2 weeks. I would check to make sure all the windows and doors were locked and secure each night after 9:00 PM. The flashlight performed perfectly for this purpose.

It worked just as needed inside and outside. Plus, I was somewhat comforted by the fact that the light has a stainless steel strike bezel and a strobe mode. The strike bezel also includes 3 carbide inserts.

I found that indoors, I could use the lower lumen levels and still have plenty of light. Outdoors, I would normally just need to crank it up one level from the level used indoors. The highest level was not needed, but was available, if needed.

The flashlight had very respectable run times, not needing a recharge.

The flashlight has 2 switches on the tail cap. One was the on and off switch and the other controlled the light levels and the strobe. I was not very familiar with this exact arrangement. It took me awhile to get comfortable with it. However, it performed perfectly.

If you are looking for a flashlight for security purposes or other similar tasks, I would not hesitate to recommend this flashlight.
