Fenix TK30 LEP Review

Ambassador Matt W.

The Fenix TK30 is a new kind of flashlight! Well it’s more of a laser light. It uses the newer LEP (Laser Excited Phosphor) technology. It uses a laser to bounce off a piece of Phosphor and that produces the usable light coming out the front. The beam is very tight and a long thrower!

Now when a new light comes out one of the first questions is “How many lumens?” Well this one will surprise you. At its brightest mode it is 500 lumens! It seems so bright because of how focused it is.

This light is something else! It’s literally like a lightsaber. When you turn it on you can’t help but smile like a kid at Christmas! The light has no spill to it just a hot spot which isn’t very practical to be used as a regular flashlight. Then again this is not a regular flashlight.

The build quality of this light is the same high quality and feel as Fenix is known for. It has a tail switch which is a must for a tactical light in my opinion. It’s got a side switch with a battery indicator to switch between low (100 lumen), high (500 lumen) and strobe (500 lumen) modes. The battery is a 21700 and has great run times!

I have actually found a great use for this light in my line of work. I work in industrial maintenance and being able to locate conduit or pipe and being able to trace it out with this light has been the best!

Bottom line is that this is an outstanding light! Great job Fenix!
