Security Officer, Andy F., Reviews the PD35 Tactical Flashlight

The Fenix PD35 TAC is exactly what I needed for work! The size of the PD35 TAC fits perfectly in my work pants pocket and is easily ready when I need it. It’s light enough that I often forget I’m carrying it. It’s built tough – I know it will work no matter what I put it through.

The 6 output levels will cover you no matter how many Lumens you need to get the job done. You have a choice of 8, 60, 200, 500, and 1000 lumens solid white light and a strobe setting that puts out 1000 Lumens! I find myself using the 200 Lumens more often than the others while I patrol at work. From time to time when I’m outside patrolling, I do use the 1000 Lumens, that reaches 200m, to really see if anyone is hiding in dark places that other flashlights wouldn’t be able to illuminate.

The PD35 TAC offers two different mode settings, Outdoor mode and Tactical mode. I perfer to use is the Outdoor mode. With this mode, you can use all of the different outputs that the PD35 TAC offers. While using this mode you turn the PD35 TAC on by pressing the back tail switch and choose your Lumens output by pressing the side switch. To activate the 1000 lumens strobe simply press and hold the side switch until the strobe light starts flashing. To turn off the strobe press the side switch again. The PD35 TAC has a memory function while using the Outdoor mode. This is really handy if you always use the same mode and don’t want to click through the other outputs every time you use your PD35 TAC. When you are in Tactical mode, you only have 3 of the 6 Lumens settings to choose from. When in the Tactical mode you will have the choice of using 60 lumens, 1000 lumens, and 1000 lumens strobe. While in the Tactical mode the only switch you need to use is the tail switch to turn the PD35 TAC on and to chose the Lumens output. This makes it a lot faster for you to chose the Lumens you want and not have to worry about pressing another switch to do so.

The PD35 TAC is a flashlight that will cover you no matter what you run into. This is the go to light for the everyday carry, the working force, and tactical. I highly recommend the PD35 TAC to anyone, regardless of their use for it!
