First of all, this light is huge, but in a good way. You feel like you’re wielding the sun on your hands. To the point that I’m sure if I keep using it in town, I’ll be getting a visit from local PD. 18,000 lumens is no joke and the candela behind this beast throws farther than anything I’ve ever seen. The light comes beautifully packaged in a hard Fenix box with the miscellaneous accessories. The proximity sensor is a huge plus as you could easily melt or set fire to nearly anything susceptible to heat. I purchased this light mainly as a hobbyist but could easily see this serving in many other applications like search and rescue, law enforcement, camping etc. I had the LR50R before this, the LR80R is it’s big brother by a long shot.
